For their own sakes. Thanks~ You're not completely wrong. I did quite a bit of spamming before becoming a mod. It's been quite a while since those times, heheh. If you were Nosebleed or smth I'd do it, but I don't like you too much, so :/ @DharmaFreedom, Huh. I actually hadn't seen some of those. Also, glad to know I helped out~

I don't know. Probably something in a serious discussion when I first joined the site. I'm not about to go digging for it, but I'm sure some of my ideas were more than a bit questionable.

I started it before I joined fuwa, and I was completely ineffective with it (think writing hiragana over and over without knowing the proper stroke order and that type of thing, lol) and mostly because of my weebness.

shitflinging competition Heh. We try our best to moderate those around here, though a few escape our net from time to time. Either way, glad to have you here.

I mean, it's something(!) Milky holmes was pretty fun. I'd watch it again. Never liked Nekopara.

>Screwing up muh Sakura with rider on a celebration. H-how heartless. It's been nice. Hope for many more great years to come~

I appreciate your congratulations, dear friend!

May 2, 2013. Wow. It's been over 3 years since I joined the site, and it's been almost 3 years since I became a mod, huh. I kinda want to say something, but I can't think of much to say. Rip. I'd say "what a curious conundrum" or something, but I don't want to spend muh chuu2 quota of this message right away, so I won't I'd make one of those huge callout posts, but there's too many people to talk about, so I won't. Instead, I'll do like zaka - if you'd like to hear my honest opinion of you, throw me a PM and I'll give you that. Lesse... I guess I could also do an AMA. Hm. It's not like I did enough of those already, and it is a celebration of sorts. Feel free to ask me anything, and I'll do my best to answer it. I was going to write a fuwa history of sorts... But my memory of 3 years ago isn't too good and things would feel really fragmented if I started at any other point. Instead of offering quality content, I'll just celebrate. Oh, hey. I didn't have to use my chuu2 quota at the end <3 Aight! Ask me anything if you'd like, post me some waifus as a present or spam shitty memes. 4k~

Fuwanovel 2016: A Downtime Odyssey
Kaguya replied to Narcosis's topic in Request a Change/Report Site Problems
Vodoo magic, for the most part. We expect the site to work normally after we get to recreate the universe. -
Copying myself from somewhere else, I'm not really into OELVNs due to generally low-quality artwork, music and the overall lack of voice-acting. I think that's the problem with them being mostly indie works. They just can't keep up with the quality of commercial releases. Still, I'd try my hand at a high-budget OELVN with no prejudice, I think. I haven't looked at OELVNs in a while now, though.

How do you think we should identify our game?
Kaguya replied to beerbrew's topic in Visual Novel Talk
As a whole, I don't know, because I'm really out of touch with the steam community. Still, looking around the forums and reddit, most of them, I'd say. It's part of why I think you should focus on the H when advertising. -

I don't put any particular value on the VNs being japanese, so nothing. I just avoid works with low-quality artwork, music and no voice acting (or even worse, amateur voice acting.) If you're presenting me a release on par with a commercial jp VN, then I'll try it. Since english VNs are normally indie works who fail at most of those categories, I don't read them. After all, if I just wanted a good story, I'd read a book. I'm actually quite picky with all aspects of my VNs, which often OELVNs fail to deliver on, from my experience. -
The sakura series definitely are VNs. Low-quality ones, for sure, but they seem to be pretty popular with the steam crowd, so that's presumably a place where they thrive. I don't care about the translation scene too much, but I don't feel salty towards the western community or anything. I'll only really be scared if jp devs start considering this side of the community when making their works in jp, but that's a far cry from truth now, so I don't mind it. People can complain about anything. They have different wants. Can't say I mind pricing complaints. At most I'll giggle a bit when they seem absurd and move on with my day. So long as they pay the price set for the work they bought, they're 100% worthy of reading that work, as far as I'm concerned. Uh, if it bothers you that much, you should probably consider just not reading steam comments, though.

How do you think we should identify our game?
Kaguya replied to beerbrew's topic in Visual Novel Talk
The mobile space is a dark, unknown universe to me, but presumably, yes. I know otome VNs thrive there, but not much else. At the very least, around here, I'd say that 90%+ of people on fuwa only really read japanese VNs, with maybe one or two OELVNs like katawa shoujo in there. -

That would be accurate, yes. You'll probably have better luck with people interested in OELVNs at lemmasoft or something. Still, we do have our fair share of people like that around, so of course, feel free to ask. The answers you'll get will likely be more than a bit jaded by people who mostly play japanese VNs, though - me being no exception to that. -

Kaguya replied to beerbrew's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I'd talk about the H. Not because I have any preference for it myself, as I tend to find the combination kinda annoying and would rather my story-focused VNs have only story and my H games to have overwhelming quantities of H, but because of the stigma kinda attached to sex scenes. The reasoning behind it is that if you talk about your game's great story and say that it also has H, presumably the story-focused crowd won't want to have that much to do with it, since they probably just have better options. Selling story is tough. The H might actually be a minus for a lot of people, and even if it's not, it doesn't actually grant you any edge here. If you sell the H first, then I think people will get interested if they think your heroines are cute no matter what, and I think that's probably safer and will be better for you. Still, this is all speculation and I could be way off the mark and all that stuff. -
Is it supposed to make a difference?
-
Is that Kotori? Either way, really cute, too. I'll throw the 8.5 back.
-
The appeal of them is that they're actually boys, though. If you're ignoring it, you're probably just better off reading something with flat girls.
-
Tongue out. How impolite. 6/10.

Heya. Hope you have fun around here.
