  1. Yeah, there is. It's why I said I haven't fully covered Mokou yet.
  2. So, Kaguya. The final boss of Touhou 8, Imperishable Night, and also the character my whole profile is based on, and my favorite touhou character, all in all. A long time ago, a bamboo cutter found a baby girl while working. She was unlike all other babies he had ever seen, being really small, and much more fragile. While he was a simple bamboo cutter, and didn't have much to provide, after some thought, he decided to adopt her. And so he took the baby, and he and his wife continued to live their lives normally. However, after adopting the baby, the man was blessed with fortune. Mysteriously finding gold while working, amongst other things. Everything in his life was working out more than perfectly, to ridiculous levels, and they became a very wealthy family over the years. During that time, the girl grew up, with unnatural health and beauty. The girl's beauty was unlike anything ever seen before on earth, and word of Princess Kaguya spread accross the land with shocking speed. And so, tens, if not hundreds of men came to see the rumored princess. All of them proposed to her, and she refused all of them. Even after being refused several times, however, 5 nobles would absolutely not give up on marrying her. Kaguya was conflicted, and decided to set them for a trial. She then set 5 impossible requests to bring her different treasures; She would marry the man who managed to bring her one of the treasures first. The first request was to bring her the stone begging bowl of Buddha. The second was to take a jeweled branch from Mount Hourai. The third was to find the robe of the fire-rat of China. The fourth was to retrieve a colored jewel from a dragon's neck. The final task was to find the legendary Cowry treasure of the swallows. Upon facing these requests, 2 of the nobles gave up, one tried to swindle her with a fake treasure and one decided to propose to her without any treasure. One man, however, decided to seek the treasure to the very end, and tragically died in a storm, before he could even reach his destination. With all of them rejected, word of the princess reched the emperor of Japan, who arranged a meeting with her. Upon seeing her beauty, he too, could not help but propose to her, which she also rejected, wishing only to live with her family in peace. Unlike the nobles, however, the emperor kept contact with her, and they would trade letters as friends for a long time to come. With the passage of time, however, Kaguya began to act weirdly. She would be seen sobbing at night, and acting troubled and depressed. It would later be revealed that she recovered her memories, and that she wasn't human, but rather a being from a species that lived in the moon, exiled to the earth temporarily as a way to pay for her crime of developing and using a drug that brough her immortality, thus leaving her unclean to the eyes of the lunarians. That penitence, however, was about to end, and soon she would have to return to the moon. Not wishing to return, she then decided to hide, and run away. As a last apology, she made and left one drink of the potion of immortality, asking it to be delivered to her closest friend, the emperor of Japan. And that would be the end of it, if not for Mokou. Mokou is the Extra stage boss of IN, and she's quite an interesting one - She was the daughter of the Fujiwara family; The noble who died while doing his impossible request was her father. She viewed Kaguya as a figure that's almost a demon - someone who charmed and tricked her father to his death. She then decided that she would have her vengeance, no matter what. And then she stole the drug of immortality, and took it, determined to make Kaguya pay. The drug was completely beyond her expectations, and she felt tricked yet again, being forced into a curse of never dying, no matter what. Realizing her revenge was pointless, but still determined to have it, it's said that Mokou went on a ramapage for 200 years, burning everything that entered her sight to ashes, be it human or youkai, all the while she felt the pain of the fire in her body, searching Kaguya to make her suffer the same. And that's the start of their story, basically. Though I haven't covered Reisen, Tewi or Eirin, all who are quite important for Kaguya. There's also a lot to expand on Mokou, but I'll leave that for when I explain Imperishable Night. For now, cheers!
  3. I dislike all of the fairies (seeing Cirno stuff is... Ugh.) but that game was pretty nice, lol. I liked the gimmick of freezing bullets... And Marisa's spellcards were pretty funny.
  4. Pretty much. Though Sunny Milk, Luna Child and Star Sapphire are the bosses of Great Fairy Wars, so I wouldn't call them "canon non-game characters"
  5. Maybe but not necessarily. There's only one phantom boss in the series, and Yukari's power is indeed absurd, but we don't know. For example, Lunarians are shown in canon to be ridiculously powerful when Remilia makes a rocket and goes to the moon. It's further enforced with Junko, when the protagonists wouldn't be able to defeat her at all without a drug Eirin made. On the other hand, it doesn't really matter, since the danmaku they use to solve incidents isn't fighting for real, and it doesn't need to reflect actual powerlevels (Sanae has a spellcard that's basically her throwing rice around, if I remember correctly... Of course it's powerless, but a hit from it would still count as a victory for her, lol), being more of a duel system that lets humans challenge youkai if it comes down to it, according to the descriptions you'll get from the print works. Because of the way danmaku works, the in-game battles don't necessarily reflect strength, in the first place (though they can, and often enough do, probably.) With some characters, it's even messier - Aya is depicted as not using her full power most of the time, for an example. Yuuji, too, fought with the heavy handicap of not letting a single drop of sake spill from her cup and whatnot. It also doesn't mean those powerlevels are consistent in between games. I wouldn't say all 6th stage bosses have consistent powerlevels amongst themselves - extra stage bosses are even worse to qualify, but they're probably stronger than the 6th stage bosses in most cases. If you're asking about difficulty rather than powerlevels, it varies from game to game. Yuyuko's spelllcards are much easier to get through than Clownpiece's, and they aren't even from the same stage, lol.
  6. Of course I wouldn't notice it. She is often described as a very charismatic character... Though I don't really get how. I'm perfectly fine with everyone liking Mokou over Kaguya. In fact, all other Kaguya fans can fuck off
  7. I'm pretty sure looking down on plebs isn't how charismatic people behave, though. Remilia has always been a pretty annoying character to me. There's some pretty good art with her, and it almost feels wasted. To each their own, I guess.
  8. Pretty dank. I'd inform y'all of what I am, but nothing quite fits (though I'm close enough to hipster elitist) so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  9. It looks kinda cool. I don't buy figures (normally, anyway), but touhou-related stuff in general is my main hobby, so. Yeah. It looks kinda cool. I'd consider buying it since touhou, but I never really liked Remilia. Hm.
  10. Super weird/what is that even/10
  11. False, I hate coffee. Next person likes classical music.
  12. Nice green, though the art is a bit weird to me. 7/10.
  13. https://vndb.org/v6346 I absolutely love hypnosis and general rapey stuff... This game is absolutely terrible at that, but it's so terrible it's funny.

    Hearthstone

I feel like it's a good change. The problem isn't that the emote was used sarcastically, all emotes are. The problem is that the emote had little use other than sarcasm. It was very fringe and it felt like it was trolling you regardless of whether or not it was meant like that. Ya know, that mage isn't really sorry they flamestriked your board for the third time in that game. Wow does have a lot more uses, compared to it. Because some crazy stuff happens in the game, and it helps express that. I do feel like it's a better emote. You might say that "Kaguya, but it being a better emote isn't a reason to remove the old one." - And I'd agree with you. But they wouldn't have recorded the new emote if they weren't trying to remove the old one, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  15. The perfect, most devoted servant... There can't be a better waifu than Samiel <3
  16. Currently I'm re-playing Vermilion, Bind of Blood. It' one of my favorite VNs, and I do recommend it.
  17. So, I've been doing my DS2 NG+ run. I'm getting to the final part of the game now, so I decided to do the DLCs. While I have SotFS, I've never played the DLCs before... I decided to go the one I have the key to first, Crown of the Ivory King. The enemies were easy enough to deal with, I died a few times to Avva before figuring him out and now I'm at the Burnt Ivory King. ...It's going to take me a while before I beat him. Well.
  18. To some extent. The heroes being who they are and the general atmosphere of the game are enough to give it value, though whether that'd make up for reading romance you're not interested in is up to the individual. So long as they don't go in with high expectations in the history front, it should be pretty fun.
  19. http://reviews.fuwanovel.net/2016/04/21/destinys-princess-a-war-story-a-love-story/ I did an otome title this time. It was a pretty fun game, though I dunno about recommending it to the ordinary fuwa user.
  20. You don't need to play Aselia, but doing so makes Euphy that much more enjoyable, to be honest. ...At least to me.
  21. Sanah and Rooke already got to it, but I don't mind them offering a version with less features. I feel like this all depends on the price breakdown. So long as the full version costs about the same as other VNs of the type, it's a pretty good thing that they're also making a version that'll sell for people who don't want the features that were excluded from the full one. I saw the argument that it'll set a bad precedent for the future, but even then, so long as the pricing is fair, I don't really mind it. Who am I to judge if someone wants to buy G-Senjou and only read Haru's route for half the price? (it's actually a pretty good idea, given how generally worthless the other routes in that game are. But I digress.) If they offer an imcomplete version for a high price and then offer the previous content as DLCs for even more money then I can see people getting pissed, though. And the argument related to being pessimistic or optimistic with this is silly and I won't get into it.
  22. Their best song is also the gayest, lol.
  23. How fleeting are all human passions compared to the massive continuity of ducks.

I'm not an expert on ducks by any means. Care to enlighten?

That actually looks right up my alley - thanks! I'll have to order a copy from Amazon.

  24. Not really. I feel like most people who do like VNs are more likely to be anime fans than anything else... Plus there's the light novel crowd (who tend to be gigantic when added up - same thing with manga, really. They can get really out of hand.) VNs can appeal to anime watchers through anime porn and the type of romance that can't really go on TV It also lets you know characters before using H scenes for erotic purposes, which provides the ultimate type of erotica for some people. You might or might not argue that's why we're a niche and that VNs should focus on reaching other audiences... But if they stop marketing towards that niche I'll no longer have an interest in VNs, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
