I'm a big fan of Welcome to the NHK. All the arcs are winners, but my favorite is definitely senpai's route with its nice island vacation. It manages to be simultaneously the most horrific, the most absurd, and the most emotionally believable (though it has some physically unbelievable moments...) of all the arcs. All of that combines to make the humor of it all that much more potent when it's delivered. The pillars of the series are definitely human drama, absurdity, and humor, so on the "Is it a drama or a comedy" question, I just think of it as a dromedary.

I'm pretty sure we're both old enough to know better than that. But I could be wrong, and then who knows what shenanigans will happen next. I'll hope for the former.

Flutterz x TexasDice Because I think they're often on the same wavelength, but don't seem to notice each other.

After many polls and much research conducted: 8/10. Suggestions: more zoom, less hair

False. I can take them or leave them. I like my iPhone 6, and I use Windows machines (Dell, HP, etc.,) otherwise. Next person has a recent regret which they will share with us.

Confession 1: I had two drinks at a nearby bar, and apparently they were ridiculously strong, as I'm currently the drunkest I've been in a long long time. Confession 2 (and it's a good one, because of 1): I'm close friends with a woman who I was out drinking with. The third in our group of friends is getting married, but the aforementioned woman and I are currently single. She's a fair bit older than I am, and in VN terms she was my senpai, though we now work in different places. Anyway, I find her ridiculously attractive (she's very cute, and the italicization is well-deserved), but I usually feel like she's not interested in me romantically, and I have some worries about long-term compatibility (we're both old enough that that matters), so I don't pursue it. But she looked damn good today... And all that we settled on is that we should do some marijuana together (which I feel obliged to mention is now legal where I live). So maybe that'll lead to something...

False, that's one rabbit hole I haven't fallen down yet. Next person is excited about all the VN localization announcements at Anime Expo.

Confession (because the "unpopular opinions about VNs" thread reminded me): I get irrationally angry when people talk about reading Shakespeare and not liking it. Go watch some freaking Shakespeare, and then we'll talk. Do you read the text to Grisaia no Kajitsu, as vanilla text on a white page, maybe with some commentary from some musty scholar explaining the niceties of a particular turn of phrase? No you do not. If you ever have the opportunity to watch the RSC perform anything, do it, because they're amazing. Theatre is the original visual novel; that Shakespeare guy had his shit together; and the RSC knows how to make it particularly awesome.

Monthly wrap-up #3 was posted today: Not much of interest here, this time, at least to me. Fault Milestone 2 is looking pretty good, and reminds me that I should really make time to play Fault Milestone 1 at some point. Frankly, the biggest takeaway for me was that I wish I could be at Anime Expo to buy all the World End Economica things and get Isuna Hasekura to sign them.

Actually, now I'm having second thoughts about my choice... but I won't change it. It's best to go with your gut. Confession: Even though the game probably won't even get a North America release for at least a year, I bought the Bravely Second soundtrack from CD Japan, and then freaked out a little bit when my computer had trouble ripping it. I tried a different CD reader and it worked fine, thankfully...

10 / 10, so cute. Yin from Darker than Black, right? I guess it could be a different white-haired purple-eyed anime character who pushes her face into a smile... there are probably dozens of them.

Consider your bet taken. I say it was Kosaki.

I agree with the rest of the peanut gallery on IMMHW - Amane's route was actually my favorite, but I didn't enjoy either of the twins' routes. Amane's route also fills in a lot of the noticeably-missing backstory about the past, which you won't get in any other route. I'll definitely consider it... but I've seen the whole anime series already, and parts of Melodies were pretty rough for me, so I don't know if I could handle that whole VN. Yes, I'm aware there is a lot more in the VN than in the anime, especially Kei, but... it's the content that's going to be there that's the problem, more so than that I've already seen it.

Confession: I cried while watching Inside Out, and not for a character I would have ever guessed would make me cry pretty much up until the moment it happened.

Working! is the best pure comedy anime ever. I really need to watch Season 2 at some point... I haven't watched anything in like two weeks I need to get back to Shin Sekai Yori, which I'd only just started.

I'm actually playing Eden* as well right now. Agreed completely on the "gorgeous" statement. This is the first Minori VN for me, but if the feels turn out as good as the art, I'm definitely going to look at picking up more.

The best spam emails/comments you've ever received
Fred the Barber replied to Kenshin_sama's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
That is the most detail-oriented scam mail story I have ever seen. That person should stop writing scam mails and start writing Young Adult fiction. 95% of the spam I get is in French, which I cannot speak/understand and can only read at a glacial pace. I honestly have no idea why I get French spam. Today's is a limited-time offer, though, so I should probably get right on that: Offre à durée limitée : 50% pour vous <my first name> !
