  1. I'm assuming we play up to around 3 hours, but is that considered the minimum or the limited playtime? I need to know just in case if get too immersed into finishing the game and end up being afraid of spoiling anything to those who haven't finished the game even by the end of the event.

    Mother 4

I bet they would disappear fast on the shelves, like those Amiibos X X Though I can totally see that happen. They're not making the game for money, but rather freely for the fans, old and new. Because of that, I would actually support them by buying extremely expensive clay figures if they were to sell them in masses (And also because they look awesomely designed!)
  3. Great guide! Just reading it motivates me even more so to attempt at making one, mainly to share ideas and feelings to whoever would give it a try! Now if only I knew how to program a game... ...Wait! My friend can! I'll just have to ask him. And for the writing... That's the most important aspect in a Visual Novel... I'll just have to spend a tremendous amount of time thinking of captivating ideas for a story alone. Brainstorming is imminent~ I'll just have to compose for it as well as finding an artist... I might as well start small and build big from there. If I ever make a decent Visual Novel that gets attention, I won't forget to mention you for making it happen. For now, I'll ponder a bit more on the idea, and if time lets me, I'll start working on such a project within a month or two (hopefully).
  4. I just stumbled on this thread (I actually first read the "locked" version of this thread/topic before finding this one) for the first time. I hope I'm not too late to join~ As a fan of retro games, I don't mind trying out any game, as long as it's easily accessible on my end. If it isn't, I'll just pass up it up until the next round~ I used to play a lot of games on emulators (mainly the SNES for classic RPGs and GBA games for Advance Wars, Golden Sun and Mother 3) and I hope to play games that I have yet to play, but yeah, I find this thread quite interesting. I'm looking for a new addiction anyway~ Since we all have our different tastes in genres, I think it might be hard to find a game that looks fun that none of us have tried. It could be a bit complicated to derive a list since we don't know who played what, but a poll of suggested games could be interesting. I hope we all get to try something new and fresh, regardless if the game is retro or recently made~ So about the current game, I played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night but not AoS, so that's a great start
  5. Yeah, I can see why now. I'm kind of already used to it and I do regret a little about playing it without first looking up about the remake since they are normally revamped versions. I actually had to download a patch to fix a few translation bugs in the voiced version too. I don't think I'll stop playing the one I'm currently into right now since I already invested a lot of time into it, but I do intend on playing the Sekai Project one once it's available for sure~ Had I waited longer before starting Clannad, I would probably have tried the new upcoming one.
  6. I'll watch them as they come out, it'll be like opening a Christmas present every Sunday. As much as I would love watching the whole season in a marathon during my first viewing, I won't be able to retain myself for 3 months until all episodes had first aired, it'll be too hard for me > <
  7. I first started mass playing visual novels with Ever17 which was only 2 months ago. Best. Decision. Ever. Since then, I played Yu-No and Steins;Gate consecutively, and playing those 3 games in a row changed the way I perceived life forever... Now I'm trying Clannad, about a few hours in~
  8. Just a week left!
  9. EDIT: I'm currently working on a project since April 2015, and I might contribute to three more projects afterwards, therefore I'm not currently looking to compose for anything else for the time being, but feel free to contact me if you need a song or want to reserve my time for any project in the future~ I will bring this thread back to light when my hands are free again. I've been playing the piano for almost 7 years now, and I've been toying around with different composing tools and still looking for the better ones (I currently use FL Studio). To improve and to test my limits, I'm willing to compose for any project that requires a tune, preferably for either a game or a video~ This is a song I created within the game "Mabinogi". It is an MMORPG that I used to play for a few years that contains a composition feature, and I won a winter music contest that won me an illustration book; the contest was being held on the community forums of Nexon. The reward was sent by mail by the game's company. The contest's rule was to compose a song that had to be played in-game but I ended up not just composing the song, but made somewhat of a music video related to a mini-story that also includes in-game content: Hand-chimes (within the game) were used for the contest and it's the only instrument I made the song on for this video. This is another song I made for what was to be the first stage in a 8-bit style top down shooter. And for different variations, there's a non 8-bit version here and an HD version here. These are the only samples I have available for now. I will probably edit this post whenever I get more to share~
  10. I'm a bit late, but Hi! And welcome! I hope you find your preferences here~

    Mother 4

For those of you who don't know anything about the Mother series, it's a series of quirky and fun RPG games that originated from Japan since the NES-era. They are quite very popular over there and here too. There are three games that have officially been made, but Mother 2 was the only American release (which was called Earthbound) and the protagonists of Mother 2 and 3 can be found in the "Super Smash Brothers" games as Ness and Lucas. Mother 3 never officially came out in America but the fanbase was strong enough to support its popularity and there has also been a fan-made translation that looks superior than what would have normally been the official translation--if there were one. The Mother games were directed by Shigesato Itoi. He claimed a few years ago that Mother 3 would be the last one in the series. During an interview, he stated that he would not mind if fans were to make a fourth game, and so a group of people decided to give it a shot. Now on to the main topic; Mother 4 is in production and has been for a few years now. The interesting fact about this game is that it's being made by Mother fans, and they try to keep it true to the primitive games by keeping similar aspects (especially the music). The new trailer was previewed a few weeks ago and so far, it does look very promising: If you haven't tried any of the Mother games, I suggest you start with Earthbound or Mother 3~
  12. I used to play it for a while. It can be addicting whether you have OCD or not and I did get pretty far, but real life got in the way to the point where I had no time to invest into always checking my tablet. In my opinion, the game got rather too repetitive for me. I would have probably joined if I still had it installed at the time though, it's always nice to have more people to play with~
  13. Yu-No has one of the best plots I've ever seen in a game, but there are maybe not as many H-Scenes as you would like and they're dispersed throughout the game, so you simply can't hop in and get them right away oh and they're not as explicit as some might think. Though, they're there and adds good balance in terms of a good plot and some of those scenes.
  14. I'm currently playing Clannad. I decided to try it for how well known it is. So far, I'm not as addicted or much into the story as the previous awesome visual novels I played before as the story simply seems to revolve around a typical school-life and it's somewhat bland, but I don't hate it either. It's something more ordinary than the average Sci-fi and Mystery genres I've been playing before, which is a little refreshing. It makes me curious to know if there'll be more action or drama than what's currently happening in my game right now. Character development is always the most important part in my book, so even if nothing much seems to be going on, the interactions between the characters are still intriguing. I'm currently at the part where
  15. My sanity's degrading from all the wait. As a fan of the books and the show, my life currently depends on the adaptation.

    Yo.

Welcome to Fuwa! Our army of readers is growing!
  17. Ok thanks, I will try the voiced version. But with so many adaptations of Clannad, which one is the original voiced version and what year did it come out? I noticed it's not downloadable on here, so I'm guessing it's not a freeware?
  18. Hi you~ I want to play Clannad, but do you guys recommend me the voiceless version (The original 2004) Or the one with voice acting? Does the remake share the same graphics as the first but with just the additional voice acting or is it a completely different game that shares the same plot? I do want to try Clannad but I just want the best experience and I feel that I have to choose the right version for the best emotions > <
  19. Finished Steins;Gate, and on to Clannad!

  20. Well, I was currently playing and just recently finished Steins;Gate. I have to say that the moment the game threw me the line "Time Travel" and "Time Machine", I knew I was going in for an awesome thrill! I loved the references regarding Anyway, I started Clannad yesterday and so far I'm enjoying it~ Will post more either as I go or once I finish.
  21. Which ones have you played? I recently finished Steins;Gate and I'm now currently on Clannad (I don't know how long that one takes to finish yet) and I'll need to be recommended more of them after it's done for my "Next to play" list~ ^ ^ Have you played any that contains Sci-Fi, Mystery or Thriller/Suspense? These are my preferable sub-genres, but I'm sure I'll love most that's thrown at me ' v'
  22. http://www.watchmojo.com/suggest/Top+10+Translated+Visual+Novels I just made a suggestion page on there. It will kind of give an idea on which VNs had a considerable impact in the west based on the general population. I don't think making multiple lists based on sub-genres would be ideal yet since only a small fraction of people know what the initial genre is.
  23. Good point, I guess anything that contains simple conversations between a few individuals would probably work, regardless of how the story goes would probably do~
  24. I am currently learning Japanese (Beginner courses), and I started learning a bit of the first grade Kanjis. With so many VNs out there, can someone recommend me one that is both an easy/moderate read in Japanese (in terms of reading difficulty) and still quite interesting in terms of story? I'm into anything related to science fiction, mystery, dramatic sequences/drama, horror, suspense. I'm hoping to benefit from what any VN can offer when it comes to learning Japanese on the side with my courses. All the Visual Novels I've been playing beforehand had English texts.
