  1. The insecurity, stress and anxiety of exams has begun...

    1. Tay

      Tay

      Never give up, never surrender!

  2. Oh, Aksys. You and your Japanese company business practices... Yet another re-release for the collection, even though I haven't bought Xrd yet lol. Guily Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- Announced
  3. The game isn't region locked, fortunately. If not for that, I wouldn't have played half the online matches I've played (most of them are with JP or US players). Though it has a bit of lag, it's all I have now sadly I'll have to see if I can get my hands on the NA version, perhaps through some account region shenanigans.
  4. That depends on whether the edition that will come out is the American or European version of CP:Extend, since the time it takes to get a BB game across the pond is almost as much as it takes for the JP game to reach the US. Damn licensing issues...
  5. No Blazblue: Chronophantasma? Oh well, as a Western BB:CP player with no friends who play it and everyone in my country having moved on to Xrd, I'm used to being in the miniscule minority. Glad to see an FGC exists now, though. Have fun with your games! (I also have KOF XIII and Injustice on Steam, but haven't played them in months).
  6. It was for a course called "British Culture" and we used Heart of Darkness as an example of the British Empire in the early XXth century and how they treated the "Other". Boring as hell, though as a person who thoroughly enjoys dark humour, some descriptions of the natives were so condescending and inconsiderate they were funny.
  7. I haven't watched tourneys or gameplay of BB in general for a while now, due to lack of interest and friends to play. But when I watched lots of it, my favourite players were Noze, Bokuzen, Fenrich, Dogura and a few others.
  8. Been like 10 years since I played it, but this song is still burned in my head... So good.
  9. If anybody plays Blazblue CP, add me^(PSN is the same as my forum name) . And I'm totally in favour of a Fuwa FGC, though I only play BB and it's on-off for now, since CP 2.0 might come out over here soon. Plus, I have no one to play with and only have the Hell A.I. to keep me company (depending on my opponent, I beat the A.I. ~75% of the time). I play Hazama and Terumi, know a combo or two of Ragna and spam some things with Azrael ^^
  10. Now, I'm not trying to troll or mock or anything of the sort. I am merely attempting to understand how people derive pleasure from reading a book. I cannot for the life of me finish a book unless it's mandatory for a course, and those books end up being super boring (in my opinion of course). Here are a few examples if you are curious: Heart of Darkness, Joseph Conrad Fury, Salman Rushdie Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Jonathan Safran Foer I can describe these with the same sentece: A boring slog to get through. I have also tried to read for pleasure and leisure and it just ended with me dropping the book. The book was Homeland, R.A. Salvatore, due to having played Baldur's Gate and the character piquing my interest (dropped it about 45 pages in). This question comes from the fact that I recently discovered "The Wheel of Time" series and it's massive page count (11,916), which left me perplexed as to how someone can handle all that text. So, do you enjoy reading? How and why? Once again, this is not a troll post, I am seriously reflecting upon this matter and cannot reach a conclusion. TL;DR: Only read books for college courses. Tried to read one for fun, dropped it after 45 pages. How do you enjoy reading and why?
  11. Starless' main menu music is so mesmerizing...

  12. It depends. I completed ME3 with the best possible results in the war and I didn't play online at all. You just have to 100% the game. Boring as hell though, with all the space probing missions.
  13. Been getting hooked on Path of Exile for the past weeks. Never quite liked ARPGs except Diablo 3 (which everyone thinks to be the worst ever lol), but now PoE feels highly satisfying, Must be due to having played Infinity Engine games for a while. Oh, and given all the recent Witcher talk, allow me to flaunt myself shamelessly:
  14. Seeing comments of cynicism and distrust about gaming here makes me really angry (frustrated might be a bit better). Nevertheless, I don't want to start a flame war and to each one his own. As for myself, I have never stopped gaming ever since I was 3 (currently 19) and my love for gaming has never faltered, nor have I gotten nostalgic. Allow me to elaborate: There are always good games out there, wherever they may be. You just have to find them. I think that nowadays it's just easier to identify the bad apples and they are everywhere, in all mediums. People complain about directors such as Michael Bay and Co. , singers like Nicky Minaj and Meghan Trainor or Lil' Wayne and Miley Cyrus, modern art that isn't as beautiful as the classics of yore. Is that all there is? No. Gaming has grown. More players are involved now than when there only big players such as Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, etc... Sure, there are easy formats that have become comodities and bland standards, although that does not mean that great things don't appear anymore. Game companies are geting greedier and caring less about the consumer and just producing cash grab sequels, of course, but we still have great creators and designers going around. Gaming isn't completely worse, you just have to separate the wheat from the chaff, moreso nowadays than ever. Tired of the modern military shooter? Wolfenstein: The New Order would like to speak to you. Want a deep, captivating RPG? Pillars of Eternity awaits you. There are many other examples and I won't go around naming things in which I am not proficient in, since RPGs and FPS are what I play now, mostly. As for my tastes, I don't think I ever stopped enjoying any types of games, I just began enjoying more genres. I still love Devil May Cry as much as when I was 12, Doom and Serious Sam as much as when I was 10, military shooters as much as when I was 14-15 and MMOs as much as when I was 16-17 (don't play anymore due to lack of friends). There are still many things to be played out there... you just have to find them Sorry for the wall of text and keep enjoying games, in whatever way you prefer!
  15. Three weeks until my exams start and I'm already having panic attacks... Great...

  16. How do you personally feel integrated and that you belong/are attached to somewhere on the Internet? I mean, IRL one would feel integrated and belonging in a community by having more interactions with it, being taken into consideration when that community makes decisions, being accepted and not left out/ being invited to most gatherings. How does that happen in, let's say an online forum? I've never actually felt like I belonged to any forum/online community, so I wouldn't know.
  17. Apparently, Path of Exile is quite addicting

  18. When it comes to games in general, I have a general "squad" of critics whose work I browse regularly: TotalBiscuit, SuperBunnyhop, Jim Sterling and Yahtzee. Some focus more on what a game did wrong than be optimistc, although that's fine in my book. Others give a bit of a first impression or try to dig deeper into a game's story/mechanics and development to present a clearer idea of the game. If I am convinced it's good (rarely happens), I buy it or wait for a Steam sale if it's a AAA game (e.g. Wolfenstein: The New Order). If I still have mixed feelings, I pirate the game (yeah, sue me) and if I like it/ it's replayable and worth the money, I uninstall the pirated version and go buy the real deal (happened with XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Payday 2).
  19. I don't think the two are THAT connected. I mean, I couldn't read an average sized book (around 300 pages) if my life depended on it (and yet I do, because my grades depend on it heh). Anway, I don't like reading books, but I can go on VN reading binges and have a lot of fun. For example, I read F/SN during Summer vacations and I read UBW in one sitting, in one day; HoshiMemo was like one route per day or two (due to classes). They involve different tools and ways of reading them. Books have words only and you imagine the rest; a VN has words, audio, visuals, etc... which make for (in my opinion) a better, enhanced experience.
  20. True. *looks at Steam sales* Next person wishes they had more friends to play online games with.
  21. Hey, you stayed in the podcast the whole time. Due to unforseen consequences, I dropped out of it midway (and even mid comment,uuuggghhhh....) and I bet that might have made you all more nervous than you already were. In short, highly unprofessional and a shame that might haunt me for coming times, probably when someone ever mentions a podcast in a conversation. I haven't even listened to the episode; not because I don't care, but due to the fact that if I listen to it, I will crucify myself for the bad voice, the probably not so good opinions and most of all, the fatal, shameful moment when I disconnected.
  22. Despite having spent the week in self-loathing, I had my share of fun with this. However, I feel like my microphone is bad (which is a bit of a letdown, since I bought it with things like this in mind) and my voice transmits as much emotion as Kristen Stewart's facial expressions... Anyway, if I were to be invited again, I'd be honored to participate one more time Lastly and once more, my sincerest apologies to all involved in the podcast and to the listeners, for ruining the podcast's quality with my mishaps... *prostrates himself on floor and asks for forgiveness*
  23. As someone who has a bit of a "dream" of writing, I saw this on my Recommended box in YT, watched it and thought it might interest some members of the forum. So here you go: Feel free to discuss it and share your opinions on his points.
