I'm conflicted with Koi to Uso. Ririna is absolutely adorable and fun to watch and probably the sole reason I'm watching it. Everyone else is as interesting as cardboard. This became very obvious on the latest episode where she didn't feature. The only saving grace with whatshername is that Kana Hanazawa is voice actress but even that can't seem to add dimension to her on-screen persona. Yes the eyes are ridiculous.

The *gataris are solid watching and the witty dialogue is kind of the whole point of the series. There is action and intrigue and stuff but that's really secondary to the dialogue. Having said that I find saturation from watching too much of it so if you feel like I do, you won't feel like watching another one immediately after finishing one series.

In Clover Day's while I was translating the twins' route, Hekiru and Hikaru are sometimes clearly mistaken by the original author in Japanese. Since we have to go over some of this stuff with a fine tooth comb checking what the hell we're writing as translation reflects what's going on, it was clear that there were 2 or 3 times (IIRC) where they said Hekiru and meant Hikaru or vice versa.

Watching Da Capo II season 2... late at night, half an episode at a time because it's doing an excellent job of making me sleepy, allowing me to go to bed.

Could be theme related? I'm using Rooke's crappy default theme. Screenshot of your post. See the heart?

Bottom right, opposite the quote tag, it's a heart...

It's been upgraded to a love button. I don't necessarily love this post but I clicked like anyway just to show my appreciation for your efforts

Not really... I just wanted to call myself an advanced weaboo. -
Welcome to the ballroom is also proving surprisingly entertaining. I'm very pleased when the most enjoyable new shows end up being something I would never have predicted as being good.

The top comment was not my contribution. Thanks to being an advanced weaboo, I don't find anything strange about Japanese culture any more... -

Gamers went into absolute overdrive with episode 3. I'd thought the show was decent so far but episode 3 was absolutely fucking hilarious. Great stuff!

Does faithfulness add value to an adaption?

That's okay, the internet is the land of pedantry... -

That's the old man in me speaking in generalisations. I don't literally mean never. -

I'm disappointed that adaption is considered valid spelling for adaptation even for Americans. But that aside, this is a debate that rages endlessly and you'll never convince those who want the original faithfully portrayed in film that they're going to get a lesser product. In my opinion different formats require different treatment and adaptation of manga to film or anime warrants modifying it in the way that best suits the altered medium. The same goes for (live action) films and famous novels. Some of the greatest film adaptations of famous novels are wildly different from the original book yet considered masterpieces. A classic example would be Blade Runner versus Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. -
Dunno, it sounded like you referred to that couple as the successful one but I'll take it as unspoiled then. The only question I have then is: is there a winning romance or does it leave it unresolved like other painful ones? In spoiler tags in case that is too much of a spoiler for others I guess.
-
Gah that's so annoying. Not only will it be painful to watch... but you've unintentionally spoilt it too I may still watch it anyway.

An overt romantic theme with failed resolution is my biggest hatred in anime probably on par with hero/ine death. So one of the most highly rated romances ever is one of my most hated animes for doing BOTH even though I was forced to give it a high rating because of its overall quality.

I hated honey and clover for its continual romantic tension and failed resolution and gave up and it's on my won't finish list on ANN. The rest I'll investigate when time permits, thanks very much!

@skrewball717 Bakuman was excellent. I loved it to bits. I found the heroes shouting ganbarimasu was a little too frequent but apart from that the pacing, characters and story were great. I loved the way it ended with tension on each episode like a sport anime and had that quality that made it hard to not keep watching. I loved the fact that I got 75 episodes of something so enjoyable to watch too in this world of short series. And I really loved Saori Hayami as the heroine even though she was not really a lead character compared to the others - she's one of my all time favourite VAs and her climactic scene was awesome. The ending was beautiful too. Definitely one I'll rewatch with my wife; I'm sure she'll love it too. 9/10

Ahem. Added Bakuman

Well after the first episode of Koi to Uso I thought it was going to be painfully dramatic to watch but I was going to watch it anyway since it's a romance, but the second episode wasn't remotely like that thanks to the new character. It was actually amusing and enjoyable. Here's hoping it continues

Attack on Titan2 was excellent to the end. Best watch of the season. Little witch was great. Tsuki ga kirei had a sweet ending and was solid to the end, despite its many production quality issues. The story and characters were very believable and true throughout and the ending was very satisfying. Dungeon ended quite nicely for what was otherwise a side story to the main one. It was nowhere near as good as season 1 but after the boring elf arc it was enjoyable. Saekano was good to the end. Seikaisuru was intriguing and overall very good though I didn't quite like part of how they ended it. Eromanga sensei was embarrassingly quite enjoyable despite being really stupid. Fukumenkei noise was hot and cold. Sometimes it was very good but overall was only decent. ID 0 was most intriguing and pretty good despite the annoying 3d graphics. The rest was forgettable from decent to really bad (and I watched a hell of a lot more than I listed here.) Started discussion for new current season.

So far this is looking to be one of the least interesting seasons in a long time Of what I've seen (most of the shows by now), Princess principal is the most promising of the new shows so far. Continuation of Re-creators is going to keep me going. 2nd season of new game should also be solid. The ten millionth iteration of *gatari should also be solid. So not much new that looks interesting but a few previous successes that will continue.
