Just watched the kantai collection movie (at last). It was okay. The TV series was actually better. Next up, the sword art online movie, Ordinal Scale. I must admit having found the conclusion to both TV seasons meh I don't have much hope for this, but then again I downloaded it for the much talked about bluray version Asuna nipple scene which I've already scouted out and thought... okay for us eroge readers that was no biggie. I couldn't even see her face in it so what's the bet it was a body double...?

Followup. I finished Yukino's route first and it was what made me write this first comment. I'm now well into Ran's route and it is much more fun. As per usual my problem was more with the heroine rather than anything else as Yukino was really shallow simple and 1 billion percent predictable in not only how she'd behave but what she'd say so was plain boring. Ran so far is much more interesting and super sweet, but still not on the scale of Clover Day's. The evolution between these two games and the years between them shows. I still have 2.5 heroines to conquer so it's too early to draw a final conclusion but it's at least providing me with the level of fun I was hoping for now. I'm saving Irina for last.

There is no true route, however a significant part of Konomi's route (and less so Tamaki's route) constitutes common route so it should probably be done first otherwise her route ends up feeling flat and short if you skip the common parts when you decide to play her route.

Uh yeah sure I should have figured it would be a harem with Akamatsu at the helm, but I went into this one knowing zero about this series after being burnt by the original Negima manga and anime (scanlated and fansubbed both and both failed hard at the end). It's interesting they not only called it negima 2 but even used the same theme song for the OP. I guess they figured the negima anime were successful enough to cash in on the franchise. Given the way every anime iteration of negima came up with fake endings that failed hard for the manga that clearly had a long way to go, I don't have much faith that this series will be much better in trying to fake an ending or not. Nonetheless my Stockholm syndrome will have me watching it /o\ I watched the second episode and dammit I enjoyed it. For shame.

I guess you just have to play it through to further to understand her mentality. She's just plain crazy with moments of maturity. The sexually forward nature of a side character to tease others is a common trope and mechanism for laughter and titillation that sometimes works and sometimes falls flat. There's nothing more to read into it here.

To answer that is a bit of a spoiler in itself.

Now that the final patch is released I've started this thread for discussion of the actual game. The patch is available in the following thread: Please use spoiler tags liberally if you want to discuss anything about the story that even might be considered spoilers. Ruu \o/

Catching up on some of the moege English releases now that I'm free and don't feel obliged to only play Japanese games raw. Playing My girlfriend is the president. It's pretty average so far and only mildly amusing but the girls are ultra cute. It's nowhere near as funny as I was hoping it would be and the story has very little in the way of actual dramatic tension - which isn't surprising but you can still maintain an interesting story and still be moe as fuck. It's okay so far overall but nothing to write home about. Considering Alcot made this and the glorious work that is Clover day's, it's a bit of a letdown by comparison. Will see after a few more girls but it's not much more than 'filler' for me atm.

I guess so, but it appeared they knew they would never get another season and had to wrap up the story with OVAs only.

Just watched the first episode of houeseki no kuni. That was very original and intriguing even despite the 3D graphics. I'm really looking forward to more of it.
-
I really enjoyed Kamisama as well. Did you watch the final OVA? It was all kinds of awesome as a conclusion.
-
You're right, it's unbelievable. This may be the first season in a decade without a harem anime. Shokugeki is the closest to a harem and its harem qualities are very weak (with the obvious long long long term relationship between Erina and Souma being inevitable.)

I enjoyed Sugar+Spice! for what it's worth. It was a little less story-like in the way it worked since you chose "scenes" from each heroine or mixtures of heroines and they had to try and tie the overall story with random scenes. Some were mandatory ones that advanced time forward as the stronger storytelling components. There was a unique confession system though, where you tried to get enough goodwill with one of the heroines and you called her out to a famous park location to try and confess to the heroine and be accepted or rejected. Of course it wasn't that simple since repeat failed attempts worked against you and some heroines may not have accepted you via confession. The girls were interesting, the overall story was fun enough and the confession scene always gave me a lump in the throat so it was quite good. I loved Uta in this one. Additionally, I played the sequel Sugar+Spice2! as well (I bought them both while in Japan on a whim based on the description of the confession system) and this was the same system but new heroines and set slightly in the future with lots of cameos from characters from the first. I enjoyed this one a lot less, simply because I didn't like as many of the heroines - some plain annoyed me, but some of the heroines I really enjoyed (I loved Fuuka.) It was a little annoying compared to the first because you had to actually play each heroine through multiple times (though you could skip the actual playback of scenes and just collect good will points) to get to some of the extra scenes as though you were somehow closer to the heroine on subsequent plays. I never managed to collect all the scenes - just tried to get all the love+H scenes as the rest felt like a grind. They both had a great system where you could look at what you'd unlocked and rewatch any scene in particular and get an idea of how much you'd cleared and that you might have missed something special to your liking (like more H.) The company that brought these two games out had a new system for their sequel game, Watashi ga Suki nara "Suki" tte Itte! with all new updated graphics and so on, and they announced an official localisation from mangagamer(?) on this forum. I haven't played this one yet but I'm actually looking forward to it a lot based on the previous ones. It looks even more dating sim like from the screenshots https://vndb.org/v17376 E: I posted something about S+S2 in the untranslated thread a while back.

I'm looking forward to more Shokugeki no Souma and Mahoutsukai no Yome. My wife and I will wait till Gintama this season is complete and binge watch that together. I'll watch UQ holder out of curiosity after being burnt by the original Negima series. And as per usual I'll watch at least the first episode of almost everything else and then trim my watch list as I go. Some of the new stuff looks vaguely interesting but one can never tell until the show really gets started how good it'll end up being. All rom+/-coms get a tick automatically and get more viewing time and as per usual there're a few. Some of the OVAs for shows I've already been watching look promising, and as a continuation, I'm looking forward to more ballroom; it's been a flawed show so far but still engaging. I watched Dies Irae 00, and having never played the VN but heard lots about it, I had a vague idea about what it was going to be like. After one episode I'm not particularly impressed but since it's not really the start of the story, being 00, I'll keep watching. Who knows.

This is to kick off the discussion for the current anime season. http://anichart.net/Fall-2017

Yuma in To Heart 2. Not serious but rival behaviour nonetheless.
-
But would she mind if she wandered in while you were watching one these 'cartoons' and had your dick exposed and in your hand paying homage to said cartoon?
-
I promised myself I would do this! Hey everyone!

Without further ado I welcome you here. Enjoy. -
Made in abyss that final double episode was both brutal and brilliant, even though it only finished the series, not the story. I haven't cried so much watching anime in years. Fingers crossed for a followup season and that they can make something of the same calibre. 9/10

Amorous professor Cherry https://vndb.org/v157 An oldie but translated and really hot. One I couldn't bring myself to delete.

Pretty much the same conclusion I came to with KHNM. On the other hand, you're on a real freaking winner with Planetes, it's one of my reference series. My wife loved that one too.

Yeah I prefer the other text format too. The anime is meh, the game is about 10 times better than the anime and the anime lives off the reputation of the game rather than being good in its own right. The reason aquaplus kept making OVAs as sequels to the anime for a decade is because of the legend of the game, not the original anime. To Heart is set in the same universe but they're both standalone games with completely different characters (and To Heart isn't translated - To Heart 2 was the popular one.)
-
Enjoy. Also you'll notice Clephas skilfully avoided mentioning To Heart 2 in his response. Read into that what you will
