The source material is usually the best version of a show so I agree that every fan should read the light novel, but that being said I still enjoyed the anime. I have a high tolerance for art styles and so I found animation pleasing to the eye, and I didn't mind the direction either. Furthermore while the anime cut some stuff out of the LNs and also isn't as detailed regarding people's thoughts, I'm not really a fan of how Light Novels are written. For example while they give detailed internal monologues they're typically light on actual descriptions (like setting) and tend to contain info-dumps (which I'm not really a fan of.)

Katawa Shoujo is not a dating sim. A dating sim is a game where you raise the protagonists stats (the sim part) with the goal being wooing certain girls (the dating part.)

Good review. Excellent slice of life anime with plenty of economical discussion. One of my faves

WHOA! This game is unexpectedly good. Really, really good. The english is seamless, the writing is hilarious, the sim gameplay is really fun without being heavy on stats or ultra-complicated, the art is original, the characters are diverse and interesting, it's been a very long time since I've been hooked on a VN like I have with Romanesque. Every fan of sim games should give this a try!
