Does wife count as girlfriend? Next person prefers oppai to loli.

Yeah, it seems Casters are best if they have healing. I'd say debuffs but the debuffs in FGO don't seem particularly debilitating. Though some do have high damage NPs.

You are evil and I will hire a Dutch hooker to kick you in the shins via PayPal. Don't take that seriously, we all know Dutch hookers only take Bitcoin anyway.

True Cheater. Back in high school I played valve trombone, but not the slide trombone. Made it easier to march and play. I also played trumpet and tuba. Next person has been in a choir, chorus or other form of singing group.

Halfway True, Halfway False. I've seen Vertigo, The Birds and Psycho, but I'm sure I've missed other famous Hitchcock movies. Next Person knows the common connection of the films "Stand By Me," "The Shawshank Redemption," and "Apt Pupil."

Damn Flutz, you running it on your computer or something? I needs to get me some of that action.

Did you finish the opening main route Fuyuki Is On Fire when you first played? If you didn't finish it you can't participate in the special event. That tends to be true of most special events.

I guess I'll farm Bezerker tokens to get all the worm CE enhancers now that I'm through the event. Or go back to Fuyuki in Flames and try farming unlucky bones like mad.

The red is too rusty for my taste, and if it's not chromatic, silver is kind of a waste. So between yellow and green, I pick yellow.

Still "The Shawshank Redemption" after all these years. And "Soylent Green" because it's so bad it's good.

I gotta go back and get Rose's ID in the thread as I accidentally deleted some friends thinking I was making a list. I really need to get more sleep. I do stupid things when... well, always, but even more so when I'm sleep deprived.

Trump and the connection between democracy and tyranny
Valmore replied to sanahtlig's topic in General Discussion
Exactly. You know how hard it is to change the Constitution, or more specifically, The Bill of Rights? We started with 10 and we've only barely doubled it over 200-plus years, and two of those cancel each other out (Prohibition and ending Prohibition - 18th and 21st). It takes 38 states to pass a new amendment. It's hard enough getting 3 people to agree on pizza toppings, 38 states needing a majority to pass new amendments? The last one to get in was the 27th back in 1992, and it took 202 years to get it ratified. -
Is that an offshoot of the Manhattan Transfer?

Trump and the connection between democracy and tyranny

Supposedly they do teach this stuff in school, and not just college. It starts simple and then you add the details on as you get into higher grade levels. By the time you hit high school, if you've been paying attention, you *should* have a pretty good idea of the system. The thing is, people don't pay nearly enough attention, which kind of makes for funny memes of college-aged kids shell-shocked that Bernie "Not Really A Democrat" Sanders didn't beat Hillary "Established Party Member" Clinton. Slogans are easy - getting support from a party you eschewed for years isn't. -
Let me build a bridge, for I cannot fill your chasm. #StingHasTheAnswers Not sure if meant to taunt weebs with your rousing sex life, your disposable income or your video skills but... BRILLIANT!!! Got any Miku Hatsune stuff? I can't watch an entire hour as I'm supposed to be typing two different scripts. CONFESSION: On vacation this week. Will probably need a vacation from this week of vacation.

Trump and the connection between democracy and tyranny
Valmore replied to sanahtlig's topic in General Discussion
This dates back to the Colonial period. The representatives from the smaller states were fearful that the larger states would end up controlling the Federal Government simply because they had more land area, and thus could eventually have more population. This really didn't take into account the idea that megalopolis-like cities with urban sprawl and densely-populated suburbs would spring up in different places. It was more based on, "New Jersey is locked in where it's at and can't expand, but Virginia can expand it's charter further west." To keep the smaller states on board, various parts of the Federal Government had compromises built in to them, including the Senate being even representation and the Electoral College system. Many people still like the idea of the Electoral College system for whatever reason. I'm for getting rid of it - the biggest joke of the 2000 election was the idea of "Every Vote Counts" - no they don't. If you vote for the losing candidate in your state, your vote doesn't count, as it doesn't help in your state or on a national level. It allows for cherry-picked campaigning for so-called "swing states" while ignoring states you know you've got no shot in - why go to California when you know it's going to pick the other guy? Spend your campaign money in Virginia where you might be able to swing the vote your way. Of course, I'm also for getting rid of the current primary system and mandating all 50 states and DC have their primaries on the same day. Pick a date in May, that should give all interested parties enough time to drag their asses around the country, campaigning and then everyone hits the polls at the same time. The problem here is you expected your civics class to inform you. You needed political science/American government courses. That's where you find all the juicy bullshit that goes into our government system. For the Democrats anyway. The Republicans are wishing right now they had adopted the Democrats' system of superdelegates, because maybe they could have used them to stop Trump. Then again, which vanilla or bonkers GOP club member would you get your supers behind? Jeb? Rubio? Carson? Zodiac Killer? Not that Hillary has needed her supers so far. She's still winning in the popular votes over Sanders anyway. -
Trump and the connection between democracy and tyranny

Confusing? I don't think it's that confusing. For the Republicans it's really straightforward - each state has three and they're required by convention rules to vote for the popular winner in the primary of their state. For the Democrats? It's more of a party control system - there's a slew of Democrat superdelegates and they can pledge themselves to whomever the hell they want. However, as they consist of Democratic governors and Congressmen, party leaders, elected members of the DNC, etc. you're probably going to vote for who the party has determined ahead of time anyway. -
Clearly Lupin is the only choice here. Because bowties are cool.

Trump and the connection between democracy and tyranny
Valmore replied to sanahtlig's topic in General Discussion
The major problem in our government in America isn't too much democracy, it's that we use democracy against our better interests, because those in the game control the rules, and they play off the pervasive mindset that you *have* to vote for someone with a (D) or an (R) next to his or her name. George Washington, upon leaving office, had warned everyone about the dangers of political parties. Probably one of the wisest things he ever said - too bad no one listened. The two-party system has been indoctrinated into the collective mindset since just before 1800, and we collectively refuse to break out of the rut. This is also due in part because the campaign finance rules and other portions of campaigning are completely biased against third-party opponents. And mass media only helps fuel that by selecting only certain candidates for debates (which tend to be rubbish anyway). When presented with a decent third option, the party most likely to suffer from a loss of votes due to that candidate then goes on the attack with phrases like, "A vote for Valmore is a vote for SolidBatman" This message paid for and sponsored by OriginalRen for President, further discouraging potential third party votes by using scare tactics that voting for a third party candidate only enables the nemesis to win and you're throwing your vote away. Etc. Is it any wonder the US barely gets 50% voter turnout on an election year? Hell, look at the election now just with the primaries. Almost half the states in the nation won't even get a say in who the Republican candidate is because of this fucked up way we go state-by-state over months instead of having a single primary date for everyone. You can pretty much bank that statement with the Democrats, too, because the Bern is extinguished. -
Trump and the connection between democracy and tyranny

Meh. Checks and balances. Congress will either be led by a GOP that doesn't want Trump or Democrats opposed to him. Assuming Trump even wins. With the Supreme Court coming closer to a moderate overall makeup, there are plenty of ways for Trump to be kept in check. It all comes out in the wash. -
This grinding is getting old, doing the same three places over and over and over.
