Honestly... I think we try too hard to make the settings Japanese instead of writing what we know. It's like, we love it because of the Japanese influence, and so we try to emulate it when we make it, but as we have very little actual understanding of Japan and its culture, we botch it, usually taking the worst of VNs and exaggerating them. Which is why I'm (very slowly) putting together an otome I've been kicking around in my head, but it's set in New Jersey and has American culture instead. Once I make good headway I'd need artists and coders and stuff. Which reminds me I need to type out this idea I had for it in between reading Noble Works.

Right, that's why I said the basis for the other two. It's a different world/setting but TSK and FATE both draw a lot of elements from it. AoA was a Marvel comics event in the 90s that lasted about 4 months and the entire universe from the X-Men's perspective was an alternate reality. Afterwards when the 616 (main comics world) was resotred, some of the AoA characters ended up staying in the 616.

Especially since Kara no Kyoukai has a lot of the basis for the worlds of both Tsukihime and Fate, though it's set in an alternate world. This is like Age of Apocalypse characters crossing over into the 616.
