  1. True enough. My wife was probably an A+ to B- when I married her. After having two kids and she's probably settled around a B+ now.
  2. Well happy birthday to you! No, job apps can wait, unless you see a really hot job you want that closes today. Then you may want to send it. Your honor, my interests are sleeping, writing, baseball and reading erogi. What's erogi? It's a computer story from Japan where you go through the story and occasionally make choices in the hopes of getting an h-scene with your chosen waifu. Oh, that means cartoon sex scene. Does contempt mean dismissed?
  3. CONFESSION: It appears Bob Inzer's computer randomizing program has landed on my name, and I get to see about checking in for jury duty. Though it appears I hit the second tier of names, since I have an afternoon check and not early morning. Is it wrong that I'm hoping I have to stay home from work that day just to find out they don't need me and I can read visual novels?
  4. Now now, let's not just assume all of the "A" voters are pedos. After all, there are many beautiful women out there who are not blessed with huge tracts of land, but have their own charm in spite of that fact. Or all the voters are a bunch of loli-lovers...
  5. No poll to click on? I have to wade through a mess of Excel spreadsheets? I mean, I get paid to do that stuff every day. I'm going to go find a write-in candidate. Just like how I voted for myself for President in 2012.
  6. When he wasn't extolling the virtues of curvaceous posteriors:
  7. Wow, lots of A cup love here. Whodathunkit?
  8. Because boobs. Duh.
  9. If you don't know what this thread is about... what are you even doing here?
  10. If it's not set in Planescape, it's not Torment. I bet it will probably be a pretty good game, but I'll keep wishing it was in Baator or Mount Celestia.
  11. Final Fantasy VI (III on the SNES in the USA) is the best Final Fantasy ever. Period. Story. Characters. Music. The music alone is spectacular. I wish I could find a complete version of it done orchestral. If you do not get FFVI, you make the video game gods cry in shame.
  12. OK, to sum up this guy's point: "Critics shouldn't rag on a cheap VN." Or something like that. Hell, Decay actually offered up an alternative for $10 - buy a Sakura game. One could take it as a joke, but honestly, you probably would get more enjoyment out of one. Yeah, in Sakura the story is weak and the characters obnoxious, but they at least have consistently good art and fanservice. NOBY doesn't even offer that. Hell, I wish I could rip a game like that when it deserves it. I honestly don't have the balls to. But I have played the entire VN as well, and on pretty much most points I would have to agree with Decay, and I paid for the pleasure of that agreement. If anything, I should be even more critical of it since I invested my money - Decay can laugh at me and feel good about saving his wallet. And really, the counterpoint to his argument about budget is right there in the top of the review. For their Kickstarter, they only asked for $1300. They felt they could deliver a quality VN by having a contribution of just $1300, and they got $18000. That's over 13 times what they asked for. If their group felt they could do so great on $1300 in contributions, then they should of knocked Decay's socks off with $18000 backing them up.
  13. Depending on what you're looking for you can probably find something in there, but you'll likely have to overlook many things to enjoy it, which kind of defeats the purpose of enjoyment. The game should be delivering the enjoyment, not making you hunt for it. It's not a case of something being so bad it's good, it's something just being pretty bad. I found Yui and Chinatsu's routes to be okay but certainly nothing earth-shattering and not without their problems. And Decay actually found a way to describe the Shiro route that I couldn't. It's just ... there. I felt nothing for the character at all. And the one gay route was just WTF? I've got nothing against a gay route but it should make sense in the story-telling and this one really didn't. It was like they felt forced to include a gay route and didn't put any heart into it to make it interesting at all.
  14. Yeah, you went into even more detail about the potential timeline, which never even struck me. Not to mention: No, you're review is pretty spot-on. Though I was cool with Chinatsu's route for what it was. About the closest that VN ever got to having emotion that worked.
  15. Please, please tell me you read my board blog about how bad Megumi's route was...
  16. This thread has been all I had hoped for and more...
  17. Maybe it's me, but I think the outlook for a lot of people tends to shift as the years go by. When you're younger, you tend to look forward to what the future will bring. When you're older, you tend to look back and remember things you've done fondly. Imagine it like a road, at the beginning there's so much road ahead of you that can't help but look forward; but as you keep driving and you realize the road doesn't last forever and there's more road behind you then ahead, you start to reflect and try to downshift to finish the ride slower.
  18. So here it is, you've gone through hours of common route material, managed to win the heart of your chosen heroine and the big moment has arrived. It's your H-scene moment, stand-in decision-maker for the protagonist. She's gotten undressed. She's amazed at how big your penis is. She's all hot and wet. It's about to happen. YOU'RE GONNA HAVE SEEEEEEEEEEX. And just when you think you're about to dip your ladle in the overflowing honey pot of farewell virginity goodness, she pops an unexpected question. "Please, protagonist, please... do me... in my other hole? It's okay if you don't, but please?" You've been given the green light to become an anal bum cover. What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO?!?!?
  19. I'm so answering that I live in Hokkaido.
  20. Let me see if I can help you here: 1. Steam, regardless of your pounding away at the keyboard, is the best-known online outlet for downloading video games along with extras specific to the site. Meaning online play with others, the weird rewards system, etc. It has the potential to deliver a bigger impact or chance of success than a typical indie developer can get on their own. Comparing Amazon to Steam is silly - you're comparing a convertible to an oak tree. Your list of other websites is nice, and there's nothing wrong with putting your game on them, either. Just don't expect to hear most people to know or care about that site as compared to knowing Steam. Know why there are people with the annoying habit of calling all mp3 players iPod or all soft drinks Coke? Brand name recognition. Heck, ever say "I need a Band-Aid" at all? Band-Aid is a brand name for what's really an adhesive medical strip. Power of brand name. Steam has the potential for your game to get out there better because it has that sort of brand power. 2. Steam is part of a capitalistic society at large. Meaning being on Steam is no guarantee for success for anyone. It's a potential tool or resource, but nothing in capitalism is guaranteed. Will developers fail even using Steam? Of course. They can also fail having it listed on Amazon or their own home page. But it does have potential for greater success than just hosting it on a makeshift website. 3. What you're basically trying to say is, because some developers did not do well on Steam, it must suck and everyone who likes Steam must be a brainwashed zombie. Problem is that there are so many other factors as to why a game fails anywhere - economics 101, really. Supply and demand, product quality, marketing, etc. Blaming Steam for a developers game not taking off is like blaming the President for high gas prices.
  21. Hey, Flutterz found me! CONFESSION: Whoops, wrong thread. Yes, I enjoy singing and I'm actually pretty good. I was in show choir and madrigals in college. Next person can play a musical instrument.
  22. And yet I follow you, such as it is. Way to jump out of turn there, sparky. And I didn't beg. Begging would be "Puuuuuuhleeeese follow meeeee, ooooboooohooooo" And no, I dream of normality. Damn skippy. I'm old. Retro is best, because now I have enough coordination and smarts to beat those games! Next person can juggle.
  23. And here I thought the Japanese were advanced for having coin-dispensed porn...
  24. Czech Republic gym class is superior to America then...
  25. False, though I'm probably halfway there or so. Next person will follow me on Twitter.
