I'm pretty sure I predicted this whole thing happening at some point back in 2016. This is what happens when you become overly reliant on a platform that was already inconsistent with its 18+ content rules to begin with. Sure, it did improve the number of releases and grew the VN medium to heights that nobody predicted, but this was always gonna come back and bite the medium in the ass. If Valve actually become serious about this sort of thing, then I can see a few things happening. A lot of JP VN companies will no longer have an incentive to localize their titles if Steam wipes out VNs from its catalog. Quite a few companies only got into the West because of the promise of Steam sales, like Frontwing. Quite a few localization companies will be forced to localize more VNs that sell well as they find that the lack of Steam sales will cripple some of their financial gains. Aka, Mangagamer will possibly go back to 2012 Mangagamer. With less JP companies becoming involved in the West, fan TLs will slowly start to come back into the spotlight. Have fun with mediocre TLs. The only benefit I see from Steam doing this is that Moenovel can't half-ass their censored releases anymore, at least in terms of h-content. Either way, it'll be interesting to see where the scene goes from here. Let's see how these localization companies adapt to these new changes.

Navagating The Twisted Thorns Of Fuwa Part 1

You forgot "Moege are killing the quality of VNs" and "The Western VN Localization scene sucks ass nowadays." -
Oh hey. You're the guy who wrote Soundless. Props to you, dude. That VN was really good. Welcome to these forums and I hope to talk in depth about Subahibi with you eventually.

I'm prepared for more disappointment, as to be expected from con announcements nowadays.

We are truly on the correct worldline. -
Not a moe story, so it'd probably earn at least a 3/10. w

Hello again. Today, I have the 7th week of progress updates. Here are the updates! Translation: Prologue - 100% (1791/1791) Edit Prologue - 42% (748/1791) The translation for the prologue is finally finished. That's one huge leap towards the upcoming prologue patch. The team is aiming for it to be released in a couple of months, but that's just a rough estimate. I hope you're all excited by those prospects. We are always looking for more help in any positions that still need filling. Please PM me if you're interested in filling one of these positions. That's all the progress I have for this week. We are approaching ever closer to that prologue patch. Get hyped, and I'll see you all next week.

I don't love CC. I just think it's good. It has 2 shit routes and a pretty weak ending, so just like any other moege, it's far from perfect. However, it's still quite the fun read overall, hence why I recommend it every time moege comes up.

You shouldn't be reading any moege other than Chrono Clock tbh.

Snow localization when? -
I just finished reading Chuusotsu as my 75th overall read and it was great. It had really funny comedy, which was refreshing to see, great character interactions and dialogue, a lot of darker themes that were well-analyzed for how short the VN was, and a refreshing bit of no romance in a VN for once. Despite these, it did have a weird final act that was a little ridiculous to me and one issue, I felt they could handle better as I started sympathizing with the opposing viewpoint to what the VN wanted, but that's probably because of my viewpoint as a whole. Gave Chuusotsu an 8.2/10 and definitely recommend it to anybody who's looking for an SoL-based VN that's more than meets the eye and is hilarious as well.

If moege or comedic VNs are ever mentioned, yes.

Hello again. Today, I have the 6th week of progress updates. We're coming ever closer to the prologue patch. I hope you guys are excited about that. Now for the updates Translation: Prologue - 86% (1532/1791) Edit Prologue - 33% (592/1791) Again, we are still looking for a dedicated TLC as the other translator is only doing it for the prologue. If you think you are capable enough for the position, please PM me. That's all the progress I have for this week. I'll see you guys again next week for more progress.

Chrono Clock made me laugh pretty hard quite a few times. Plus, it has some good drama in some of the routes.

Well, it counts on my VNDB, so I guess. -

The amount of VNs they've completed is the main factor to me. -
A moege lover's take on Magical Marriage Lunatics!!

It was bait in that nobody should listen to me on what moege people should read, since I only actually enjoyed 1 in my history of reading. I'm just gonna ignore this for your own safety. -
Recommend me something good! Looking for new VN material
VirginSmasher replied to karkas132's topic in Recommendations
Definitely read Chrono Clock and Himawari for good romantic VNs. For anything outside of that, Subahibi, Dies Irae, Fata Morgana, Myth, and Enigma would be good reads. -
Sekai Project must put you into a state of depression every 3 months then.

It was actually a 4.8/10. It was extremely boring with mediocre heroines, poorly executed drama, and nothing comedic to entertain me. Dropped it before I reached a route because of how bored I was. Seriously, moege/charage need to learn how to get their common routes to be interesting. You can trust me with finding moege that actually has entertainment value. Hence why Chrono Clock is the only moege EOPs should read.
