Is it like that for every word? Or just one specific, because then it's probably a word that isn't in any dictionary. Can it be that the dictionaries or VNR has been moved? Try restarting, and reinstalling the dictionaries, would be in intuitive approach.

53 minutes <_<'' I tried it once, after school in the night CTB, got nothing more than 1581 combo. 53 minutes makes me kind of hesitant about trying to beat it. Concerning longer songs I like this but it's only 15 minutes.

Welcome back!

Happy birthday Steve. And I had a delivery to you.

Fiddling around with VNR made me notice one thing. Something went a little bit wrong when they translated フルスクリーン (Fullscreen)... How? No idea...

Welcome to fuwanovel! I think Clannad is a perfect start for your VN-voyage, enjoy it and your stay here.

I researched the second question and found a way to have game-specific dictionary entities, see the third headline in the same post. Just updated it. Hope you enjoy your VN
-
Okey First question. If you mean to use the phrase book, please see the second headline in this post. You click or hoover with the mouse over the word depending on the settings. Or you can set the furigana to English effectively making VNR use Edict (or whatever phrase-dictionary you use) lookup on every word. Second question. I also miss/haven't found that game-specific substation thing in VNR yet, I'll search for it some more.

Welcome to fuwanovel! Have a nice stay here, and I should probably not post any VN recommendations since I mostly read longer ones >_>

As I've got quite a few questions about problems with Visual Novel Reader and most of them are about the same errors I'd like to list how to fix them once for all. As I'm lazy I'll just post the most common one today, and if there are other problems feel free to ask. Wrong text is captured like this: Fix: Open "Text Settings" under "Menu" in the left-hand menu Hopefully there is one correct text in one of the text-boxes (get some more text to be sure by clicking in the game), if so set it as "dialog" and "Save" If not try change Text encoding to see if it generates a correct text Not that lucky? Then we have to get the /h code with ITH Quit Visual Novel Reader (right click on springboard, choose "Quit") open up the game and ITH and in it open "Process", choose the game process, click "Attach" and then "OK" Get some text from the game, inspect the text from the text-hooks through pull-down menu and look for a correct one Open "Hook" click "Generate Code" and copy the /H code that appears Get back to Visual Novel Reader and its "Text Settings" window, click "Edit /H Hook Code", paste it, save and voila! If this does not work, try updating Visual Novel Reader and ITH, and in worst case it requires some debugging of the game to get the text-hook manually. How to get furigana a.k.a. install dictionaries: Fix: Right click on spring board, open Preferences, under "Dictionaries" install a dictionary if not already installed Under "Translation" activate the dictionary that is installed under "Preferred Japanese phrase dictionaries" and set last thing to "Hiragana" Check that in the right-hand menu under "Option" that "Game text" is selected I want personal game-specific dictionary like in Translation Aggregator: Open the "Shared dictionaries" in right menu -> Preferences Add a dictionary entry, set it Private if you don't want to share it, and set it Series-specific if it's some name you want it just for that VN

Welcome to fuwanovel! Have a nice day reading VNs.
-
Welcome to fuwanovel! Well for starters maybe one of Grisaia, Ever17 or Little Busters fit your tastes. They are really good in my opinion. Enjoy your stay!
-
¡Bienvenido a fuwanovel! Hope I got that right, since I've studied Spanish for six years. It seems you've come to the right place where we like and discuss VNs. Enjoy your stay here

Welcome to fuwanovel! I'm not that international yet, I'm Swedish born in Sweden, but I can read VNs in Japanese, and will study in Japan for a half year in my computer science education. Saya no uta might not be the most common entry-point to the VN-world I guess. Even though I like longer VNs more I think it's good. To just give one recommendation of a translated VN it would be Grisaia. Enjoy your stay here.
-
Welcome to fuwanovel! Enjoy your stay, and I think I can say for sure, the Grisaia sequels won't disappoint you. Have a nice continued reading with Hoshizora

Advanced kanji is quite ambiguous I think. Advanced as Jouyou kanji or Jinmeiyou/Hyougaji?

No, I'm Swedish, so my native language is Swedish. But I have no problem reading English, however I still have an accent when I speak English and I frequently misspell words.

Why did so many people dislike School Days?
cryofrzd replied to Ohanaya's topic in Visual Novel Talk
True, but you were the captain, it's a crime and your duty to save the passengers. How many people would fly/go by boat etc. if the crew just would save their own asses? -
Bienvenue Don't worry about making misstakes in English, next to everyone makes them. And I think this prejudice against French people, that they are bad at English is exaggerated. I've had far more trouble with not being understood in English in some other countries than France. Anyway enjoy your stay here, discuss VN:s etc. with us as much as you want.

Why did so many people dislike School Days?
cryofrzd replied to Ohanaya's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I think School Days was quite interesting the first time I read it (the lack of good skip-system makes it bothersome afterwards). It's not that uncommon in literature to have protagonists that are unlikable, but I guess many people have a hard time getting anything out of the story when it's overshadowed by blinding hate towards the protagonist. It's clearly a VN for us/those that have some tolerance with drama/jealousy and with corruption of characters. Put yourself in an VN. You're the captain of Titanic and the plot is you save the heroine. In the beginning there's a choice: Save the passengers Escape in the one and only life-boat If you'd read the story after the second choice with some interest, I guess School Days has a better success rate for you.
