Session 1 of Group 1 finished! DM - Zodai Players - Joehawks (Orryn), Abyssal Monkey (Aeryl), Nimbus (Midgar), Soulless Walker (Berda, knocked unconscious because disconnect) and Zehbra (Franz). Games for this one take place at 5 AM UTC/GMT, on Saturdays or whenever we happen to get on. We could use another DM to get the other half of those interested sorted out, though. We have quite a few not in a group and I'm unsure of my ability to handle more than five people at once.

What kinds of steps do you think the OELVN industry will need to take in order to reach an equal level of respect to the Japanese VN industry? Do you think it has the potential for VNs to become a more well-known part of gaming in general?

According to the review, apparently it's quite good! Though I haven't picked it up myself yet ^^;; Do you have any plans to try and go into full-on writing/VN work? The world needs more good OELVN writers out there after all xD.

Depends on the DMs style for sure. I think short-mid length with consistent characters is probably the way to go. Also, does everyone have Skype? It'd be good to get stuff sorted out.

A 'game' as a whole is split up over the course of months, usually in the form of 1-2 hour long weekly sessions or something similar. Not opposed to noobs joining.

Like I said, I can do it if nobody else wants to.

So, I'm in a DND mood again, hoping us fellow NEET-folk might be able to figure something out. Hopefully we'll get a few. Prefer 5th Edition myself, as it's the one I know best and seems to be the most refined/easiest to understand design-wise. Personally I'd prefer not to DM since I'm in a roleplaying mood these days but I can if need be. Prefer roleplay-heavy stuff personally. Technically this tends to work best with smaller groups but if enough people are interested we could get more than one game going. For me, the struggles a character makes and their failures along the way are what make a character strong. Pure strength and ability, though a factor, does not take priority over a character who is human and can be allowed to be strong despite that. By this, I'd argue that Battler of Umineko is of a higher degree than Goku, at least perhaps once you hit episodes Five and Six. Though it's certainly up for debate.
