  1. Just another day on the internet.
  2. If the vndb page doesn't have a patch listed, it's a good bet that the game isn't being translated.
  3. Shamelessly stolen from /r/pokemon:
  4. The end is in sight.

  5. Perhaps, but it would've been interesting either way: another piss poor release or a somehow miraculous, competent translation I'd really like to see how MoeNovel, if at all, has adjusted since the less than stellar reaction IMHHW received. Does anyone know what sales were like for it?

    hello

Welcome to the community. I hope to see you around the forums.
  7. Well, that's underwhelming. Not exactly the kind of information you should tease.
  8. Just came across /r/pixelart, thought I would share.
  9. Yuna, easy. AHAHAHAHAHA. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-5FTJxfV3pc
  10. This is no exaggeration. The stuff on Tuchanka alone with Mordin and the genophage is enough to make it my favorite of the three games. Then there's this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_RNkz4Nr-2g The game simply had a lot of emotional impact.
  11. It also came with a t-shirt and pillow case, not pictured. I also have a Katherine wallscroll above it. You could call me a fan of the game. I bought it because I own a lot of physical Atlus products and the entire premise of Catherine (Romance/Horror) immediately captured my interest even before I played it. The demo sold me on it and I preordered the collector's edition the next day.
  12. That game looks so interesting. Why are there so many good games this month? Quality problem I guess.
  13. This is an interesting question and one that's a bit difficult to answer. I don't really watch much anime and I read 0 manga, so those are pretty much immediately disqualified for me. Visual novels... well, I wouldn't be on Fuwanovel if I didn't really, really like them. They're a great source of catharsis and good way to spend an evening by myself. Out of any medium, I'd say visual novels are the best for immersing a reader in a narrative. On the other hand, I love film. I watch a lot of them. By volume, I've consume magnitudes more movies than visual novels. A movie offers things that visual novels simply can't. They're good for socializing. The advantages of cinematography allows stories to be told in ways that are impossible for written mediums. They're also more digestible. Fully reading a visual novel can eat up multiple evenings, while 1 movie will usually just eat up 2 hours of your time. Music is kinda set a part from the rest in my mind. It's more pervasive than the others and its not primarily used for storytelling. If I'm alone and not reading/watching anything, I'll usually have something on to listen to. It's there when I'm in the car. It adds value to each of my days, but it's not really something I think about a whole lot. Overall, I'd say movies are likely my favorite medium. As much as I really like visual novels, I can go months without reading any. On the other hand, I watch 1-2 movies a week without fail.

  15. Turn this into a drinking game. Every time Chinami says onii-chan, take a drink. Hospitalization will be an exciting conclusion to a stream/10.
  16. That quality seems to be more present in VNs with an overarching plot, where even if you don't like a particular heroine, there's still world and story building. I think F/SN is a good example of this, as even if you don't like Saber/Rin/Sakura, there's still a lot of value to be found in the narrative itself. SnK is similar, though that game doesn't have what you could call any traditional paths since all the heroine stuff is built around the plot itself. Can anyone else provide some examples of games with a route that 'transcends the heroine'?

  18. I've heard mixed things about it, but I have a friend who swears on the therapeutic quality of mindlessly killing orcs for 20-30 minutes. I'm waiting for a price drop personally.
  19. The only Bioware game I've found myself thoroughly disappointed over was Dragon Age 2 personally. With the exception of the ending, I thought Mass Effect 3 was a good game. It hit on all the right things for a 3rd entry in a trilogy. The multiplayer was also unexpectedly fun. The ending to KOTOR II was a bit disappointing as well, but it was more fun to play than the original overall I think.

  21. Zaka's lazy attitude did nothing but exacerbate my lazy attitude. Nothing was done, I failed out of school and became a hobo. Thanks, Zaka.
  22. As someone who has never played the series, I've been really tempted to pick it up on Steam. There's just so many games this month, I know it will be awhile before I'll get into it.
  23. So, I've been in the complete dark regarding this game. I haven't seen any screenshots, read next to nothing about it, and haven't seen any gameplay videos. I'm really excited to actually be going into a game blind, particularly one that I have some cautious excitement about. I'm feeling myself getting more hyped as the 18th approaches, it might end up with me putting off playing the new Pokemon.
  24. The problem with that is if they're indeed announcing Cocoro@Function, it's my understanding that the h-scenes in that game are more important to the game's story than they were for Konosora (with the exception of Ageha's route). If it's an all-ages version, even with a decent translation this time around, I suspect that it will still be an unsatisfactory experience. That's just an assumption from what I've heard though.
