  1. I fully agree with you. On top of that, having gone through the side routes makes the true ending so much better too.
  2. Different strokes for different folks and all that. For me, what really hooked me on the series was the sheer degree of world building the series does. Everything seems so explicit and well thought out. The series does magic in a mechanical, cohesive way that makes it seem more believable than other titles and I really appreciate that. Oh, and of course -- those excessively, mind-numbingly long descriptions of food! (j/k)
  3. I try not to read more than one visual novel at once as I find it detracts from the overall experience for me, but I can't say that it's unusual for me to do the opposite of that. I think for me visual novels sort of go through a honey-moon phase. Once the initial excitement of starting a new read wears off, I find myself considering what I intend to read next and find myself more excited to read the new title than what I am currently on. I'm like a small child in a lot of ways. This is usually for the more 'lightly read' stuff though. If I find something particularly engrossing, I make it a point not to dilute my current experience by trying to balance a handful of VNs. Things like G-Senjou, F/SN, and currently Grisaia have been good enough to singly hold my attention.

  5. My lazy days are slipping away.

  6. I used to be more discerning when it came to how a visual novel looked. If I didn't find something aesthetically appealing, I would put it lower in my reading queue. That said, my tastes have become more broad over the past few years. Eventually I started reading the stuff I had put off and after awhile the visual novels that I didn't originally think looked that great managed to take on their own appeal. I was originally put off of reading F/SN and Tsukihime because of how they looked, but now I sort of have a fond appreciation for their style. It has become part of their charm, I guess. There's still some exceptions of course. Higurashi will always look like ass to me.

  8. I played some of the Destiny PS4 beta at a friend's house yesterday. I rather like it, the adversarial multiplayer got me rather nostalgic for Halo 1/2.
  9. I was happy to hear the news about this last night. I'll probably put this on top of my reading queue for after I finish Grisaia, maybe even start on the common route before then. It looks like a fun read.

  11. I usually don't pay attention to too many VN openings, but DEARDROP's OP caught my eye the first time I played it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNlPBOaig4c
  12. I've been sinking some time into Fire Emblem: Awakening these past couple of weeks. I have never been that into SRPGs and this is my first Fire Emblem game, but I am having a blast. I have also been playing Soul Sacrifice Delta as well as Demon Gaze. I'm enjoying both.
  13. I have been putting it off since last summer, but I have finally started on Grisaia. For some reason, I also reread Riho's route in Deardrops this week. Definitely one of my favorite VNs, at least when it comes to characters.
  14. This game sort of caught my interest when it got kickstarted last year, but when I saw that video a few weeks ago I just had to pre-order it. I'm really looking forward to it, it looks hilarious.
  15. How are you enjoying it so far? I've been considering purchasing it. I don't really mind a cheesy story, so I'm more curious as to how it plays.
  16. Most of my time is being sunk into Watch_Dogs at the moment, but I've also been putting some time into Killer is Dead: Nightmare Edition. Very happy it got a PC release. I had some interest in it when it was initially released for consoles, but I never got around to playing it. I'm glad I waited. The $20 price is well-suited to the game. Beyond that, I started a new game in Rune Factory 4 this morning. Pretty hopeful about Farm Story this year.

  20. Putting quite some time into Watch Dogs. I'm pretty satisfied with it so far, though I haven't broached too far into the open world, side-quest aspect of it yet. The profiler is greatly. amusing. My only real complaint is how the game runs on an AMD card. Luckily, the beta drivers released today seemed to alleviate some of the performance issues.
  21. Among the translated content, it was the more emotional route. To be honest, I'm not sure how I'd rank the heroine's routes against one another. I don't think Wanko's was necessarily my favorite, but I do have greater criticisms of the other routes. It was definitely more meaningful. I see where you coming from with that, that's not actually too strange of a parallel. If you haven't yet, I'd recommend watching Clerks. It's the stronger film of the two and is among some of my favorite movies.
