  1. Now that I've taken a look at your list, I'd like to add a couple more recommendations. Both are fairly short and have plenty of action Hanachirasu Kikokugai - The Cyber Slayer Also, something more light hearted - Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai! It's not fully translated, but the final heroine route is getting there. It has some action, its fairly funny, and the characters have great chemistry.
  2. The medium alone can carry a negative connotation for some people, adult-centered or otherwise. Some people might just be embarrassed having their friends see them play an 'animu game.' To keep it on topic, I'm still crawling my way through Michiru's route in between bouts of studying and procrastination. I hope to finish it sometime tonight or tomorrow and then move on to doing the one route I never got around to reading in Konosora last year.
  3. I would probably count Hitozuma Hime Club as my favorite nukige. It looks its age and there's not really any individual scenes that stand out, but it sufficiently touches on a number of things that tickles my fancy. I would also recommend Ryoshuu Shijou and Kangoku Senkan if you want something with a much darker story or if brainwashing/slavery is your thing.
  4. If you enjoyed G-senjou no Maou, I'm confident that you would enjoy Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo . Additionally, the game doesn't have what you'd call traditional character routes so you'll get just short of the complete story even if you don't see all the heroine endings.
  5. I've got a sneaking suspicion that I might just be a maladjusted human being.

  7. I really liked Sachi's route as well. It was well paced and it maintained a consistent quality. I liked her flashback, it was nice catching a glimpse of kid Yuuji. Since I read it before Makina's and Amane's routes, it added just the right touch of mystery about his home life and his sister leading into them . Another thing that stood out to me was the horrifying depiction of PTSD. I've heard people say it wasn't an unrealistic depiction. Her problem, above all the other girls, was depicted and emphasized the best I felt. I didn't like how they presented the choice for the good or bad ending. Yuuji's cryptic ultimatum wasn't necessarily out of character, but it seemed like a needlessly pointless way to put it given the situation. On top of that, the choice itself didn't seem that meaningful. Either one could lead to Yuuji giving her the key, but one just happened to put her at the right time to wander into the path of a car. There wasn't really a direct connection to the choice you made.
  8. I enjoyed reading that. A lot of your thoughts align similarly with my my impressions. I too found myself disappointed with Makina's route, even more so because I liked her character. Yuuji's arc and the interoffice politics did offset her lack of development for me, plus parts of the fluff at the beginning of her route was decently amusing. Still, I unfortunately had the expectation that it was going to be the second best route and it falling far from that left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm just now in the middle of Michiru's route (my last one), but I have a feeling that Amane's going to remain my favorite. Both of her endings affected me quite a bit. Her good ending had a number of nuances that I could respect and I liked how her difficulties, self-loathing, and guilt didn't get tidily fixed and wrapped up. Apart from the absurdity of her kicking it after receiving a ticket to heaven and the extraordinary characters and setting of the story, it ended on a realistic note. Her bad end had me in tears, with half a grin plastered on my face at how badass her death was. And of course, Angelic howl was the overall highlight of the route (and probably even the game for me). I did sort of see all the developments coming though, but that didn't detract from the experience. What ended up being your favorite route?
  9. I haven't participated in any of your contents, but they're an effort that enriches the community. I appreciate the work and generosity you put into them and I hope they continue.
  10. Uh, I might be misunderstanding something. Fuwanovel is an internet site. Wouldn't uploading an image to Fuwanovel instead of say imgur be effectively the same in terms of privacy concerns?
  11. I really dig what you're saying. The sentiment is kinda contagious even. For its price point and the extent of your respect, I'm going to purchase the game when I return home tonight. I'm not sure when I'll get around to playing it, but given how short it's supposed to be, I suspect I'll knock it out of the course of a meal or two.
  12. I've always sort of fell on the deterministic side of things. Life is like a snowball. All of our decisions and responses are predicated on the information and experiences that preceded them. We have the illusion of free will.

  14. Granted, they are now translated into swahili. I wish I could at least muster up the energy to read visual novels while I'm procrastinating.
  15. I forgot to sleep.

  16. Welcome to Fuwanovel, Raffy. I hope you'll enjoy the time you put in here.
  17. I hope they make it a parody of dating sims in general, or I'm going to just get depressed. Apparently the creator, Ryan Koons, used to work at Insomniac Games, the company that developed the first 3 Spyro games (the only good ones :/ ) and the Ratchet and Clank series. I'm now slightly more interested in it, but still, I'm going to wait until it's released and I hear good things about it to buy it. At it's price point, I'm already sold on it. I feel even if it isn't as tongue in cheek as I'm expecting, it'll still be amusing.
  18. Otaku Protagonist, english Hikikomori Protagonist, english Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of options unfortunately, but there you go.
  19. Hunie Pop Personally, I'm quite looking forward to it.

  22. I really enjoyed Long Live the Queen. Far more than I was expecting to. There's also Analogue: A Hate Story and Hate Plus. Of course, Narcissu is also on there for free. I haven't personally played it, but some people have favorable impressions of World End Economica. I've seen some mixed opinions on it though.
  23. Government Regulation of Human Resource Management go!

  24. Classes have resumed, so I have picked up my vita again. I'm back into Soul Sacrifice Delta. Thinking about restarting Demon Gaze.
  25. I’ve managed to become slightly more discerning regarding this question since the last time this topic rolled around. I think more than anything else, I’ve come to enjoy heroines you might describe as difficult women. Trait wise I’m meaning things like characters who exhibit jealousy and insecurity and who are demanding, needy, or greedy. Put into plain words, the above sounds a little twisted, but that’s just the sort of flavor that I like I guess. 2D or otherwise. Naturally this extends to the archetypes that you might describe as difficult – kuudere, tsundere, and yandere. It also touches on the bookish, shy sorts of characters too. Basically, I like characters that that the protagonist has to either fight for, struggle to build affection with, or work to maintain a relationship with. Inversely, I’m also particularly fond of strong willed, well put together heroines. Things like big sisters types, upper classmen, and especially older women. The first type I was explicitly drawn to when I started reading VNs were childhood friend characters. It’s tired and well used, but I like the already present familiarity and sappy shit that accompanies all that.
