I'm not too familiar with that side of things, just know some people weren't satisfied with the quality. When I first started reading it my first thought was it came off as a little unnatural or stiff, but that misgiving went away after like 10 minutes of reading and only resurfaced at a few other parts.
About the censorship thing, I don't have the strong opinion some other people may have regarding it. I understand why they did it and I can appreciate their intention, as both a VN reader and as a business student, but they went overboard in their application and I think they ended up missing their core consumer/audience due to that ambition. I don't think 12-year old French girls are the smartest market to target.
That being said, the stuff they cut might not be called integral to the story's themes, but they did change a staggering amount and I think it would be fair to say it's lessened from it. Apparently the localization had 12% fewer lines than the original script.
