  1. The second post is now up on the blog with some of the responses you folks have written.
  2. I think your question has already been answered because I saw you in the Hoshimemo thread, but just so others don't feel the need to reply: yes, the translation is underway and making good progress. Little Busters! is amazing, so i'm sure you'll love it =) I also have Agarest sitting on my shelf waiting to be played...I don't actually own a PS3 yet though >.> Sharin no Kuni is definitely worthwhile. There are a number of routes but, unlike G-Senjou, they make very little difference to the story. If you only plan on playing through once because of that I recommend Natsume's route as it adds the most scenes. The fandisk is also probably worth playing if you enjoy the characters in the original. There's actually a related VN, http://vndb.org/v3095, being translated which i'm really looking forward to
  3. I haven't seen it before but it has now been added to my list =)
  4. I'm really not sure whether I should give this one a go. On one hand it looks like it could be really exciting to read and on the other...well...
  5. I get the mindset of wanting to push through on your own; I feel the exact same way about most video games. When it comes to Visual Novels, though, the main reason I play them is for the story. Using walkthroughs helps me to experience the story to its fullest without becoming confused and annoyed by picking the wrong choices. If you're keen on watching bad ends, most walkthroughs include those as well so you can hunt them down =P
  6. Words per minute (WPM): 75 Keystrokes: 382 (377 | 5) Correct words: 68 Wrong words: 1
  7. Visual Novels are the one medium where I think using walkthroughs should be encouraged. Often the choices don't make it obvious which path you're going down, which can be frustrating if you're only after a particular ending. Also (though this isn't true for Katawa Shoujo), many VNs have a true ending which is far superior to the other endings, so it would be a real shame if someone missed out on a true end because they didn't know it existed. 2 different illustrators. I found the change in art style a little jarring but didn't mind it after a while.
  8. I've heard that MuvLuv Unlimited is pretty much necessary to understand what's going on in Alternative, though I don't actually know myself as i've only just started Extra. And it would be a sin not to finish G-Senjou no Maou I quite liked Tomoyo After (once i'd gotten past that first bit); possibly even more than I liked Clannad. That was a while ago though so i'm not sure I can trust my memory on that. I amazed that I actually finished Rewrite...I didn't particularly like it.
  9. If you don't like how Family Project has started off then it may be best not to continue because it really doesn't get any better. I played 2 of the endings and neither of them were particularly well done.

The wonders of science amaze me too! : What sets this game apart from all of the others you could be playing? Well. We do things with games that you couldn't even dream of.
  11. RT @xJakeyJay: I wonder when they're releasing that so called "Internet Explorer: Inori Aizawa Edition" Would download that so hard and nev…

  12. Yep. While I have to admit that the VN as a whole was objectively good, the ending failed to satisfy my. In fact, the entire story felt like it was missing something that I can't quite put my finger on. Guess i'll go write up a review and see if I can figure out what it is. In any case, I plan to play the sequel once it's translated. A quick question for anyone who's played it though:
  13. Should be finishing Kara no Shoujo today. As far as quality goes it's certainly above average but there's something missing that I can't quite put my finger on. I still have the true ending to go though so it may surprise me. Then i'll move onto either Heart de Roommate or Muv-Luv. I'm planning on waiting for that 3rd translation before I play any of the Da Capo games, though I am looking forward to them.
  14. There's a much longer version of that gif that I just can't seem to find >.<
  15. Also, the second question for my editorial series is up here: http://t.co/n4KaeQv7JC

  16. Alright folks, here's scenario B. I'll be posting this as well as a summary of responses to the first scenario this coming Sunday. Whereas Scenario A differed greatly depending on your interpretation of it, Scenario B is a little more straight forward. However, it still requires some thinking as you get to decide exactly which question you would be more interested in answering. You can pick one particular topic to talk about or a range of them and how your actions would differ for each one. It's completely up to you. Scenario B December 20th, 2013. Having just returned home after a long day out, you sit down in front of the computer to check your emails. Before you’ve had a chance to read anything, though, your screen turns black. You curse as you begin to search for what’s gone wrong, before flinching back in surprise as your screen flares to life with a crackle of electricity. Squinting, you are surprised to see that your familiar desktop isn’t what’s on display. What’s even more surprising however, is that a strangely familiar-looking figure features centre-screen. And what’s more, your distinctly 2D monitor has begun to display brilliant 3D images. The figure in front of your screen speaks. “Listen, I know you must be surprised right now, but we haven’t got much time.” The figure goes on to explain that they are you from the future. Their comprehensive knowledge of every embarrassing moment you’ve ever experienced convinces you. “There’s something I need you to do for me.” They continue. “X is at stake. You’re the only one that can Y and fix things. I’ve taken too long – it’s in your hands now.” Sparks fly from your monitor as the figure winks out of existence, smoke soon following. You weren’t able to ask any of the questions you wanted to, though you’re sure that what just happened is real. Do you trust this person, this you from the future? Would exactly how far in the future they were from make a difference to this? If you did trust them, would you comply with what they wanted? If X affected your personal life? A stranger you hadn’t met yet? Your friends and/or family? The world? If Y was simple but time-consuming? If it required you to stop working/studying to devote your full attention to it? If it required you to harm another person or group of people? If it required you to harm yourself? While the other you was in a hurry, you still have time to think about all of this and have continued with your normal life. In the middle of the day as you walk down the street, pondering this new development, you hear someone calling your name. Looking up, you notice someone waving at you from a nearby café. As you approach you realise it’s a distinctly older version of the person that contacted you the other day. After the initial amazement of really meeting oneself wears off, the future you explains that, many years after contacting you the first time, they managed to develop real time travel, and so here they are. They realise that what they asked you to do may have been hard to accept, so they’re here to complete the job personally. They thought it was only fair that they warn you, though they also stress that they will not tolerate you getting in their way. Thinking back to what future you requested, does meeting yourself in the flesh change how you feel about it? If you agree with what must be done, do you help them? If you disagree, do you stop them, even if it means ending their life? For this scenario you need to pick your own X and Y. They can be one of the examples i've provided or something of your own concoction. Also, feel free to choose as many examples as you want!
  17. Two of my favorites. I tip my hat to your good taste, sir.
  18. While i'm going slower than you folks (~ 25 kanji/week) i'm up to 175 Kanji learned. I'm thinking about creating a course to learn vocab needed for the grammar guide so I can get started on the grammar while i'm still learning kanji.
  19. RT @InvertMouse: Wow, Narcissu is on Greenlight: http://t.co/loGTlQCePv Voted! If any VN is going on there, it may as well be this one =).

  20. Dissociative Identity Disorder would indeed be an interesting one. I had some other ideas in mind but i'll add that to the pile. While the lack of detail stems from my dislike of being told what i've done and how I feel when i'm meant to be the person involved in something, I may try to be a little more specific with my future scenarios.
  21. Finished Toradora and really liked it despite not liking some of the characters. I've dropped everything else i'm doing to go and play the PSP VN. Starting Kaze no Stigma now.
  22. Toradora Portable is...okay, I guess. It's nice seeing the characters again but the story isn't anything special so far.
