Well that explains everything, I guess we can close the thread now. I don't think you need to use spoiler tags in a thread that's very clearly a spoiler thread. As for your questions, to my knowledge it's not made clear whether it was just a dream or time turning back, but either way he has some recollection of what happened and won't lose the will to live again (not that he would since, you know, Hiyori doesn't die). And iirc she said that a shinigami's kiss transfers the shinigami's power to the other person, which is why she turned human.

Welcome to the forums! And Happy New Year!

In terms of games I've only beaten a small handful: Stanley Parable, Risk of Rain, Terraria 1.2, Long Live the Queen and I think that's about it. The rest of the time I was busy not finishing games. As for VNs. let me pull out my list. Deardrops, Analogue: A Hate Story. True Remembrance, Rewrtie, Muv-Luv + Alternative, Yukizakura, Higurashi, Kana Imouto, School Days, Sharin no Kuni, Yuukyuu no Shounenshoujo, Umineko, Shuffle!, Da Capo, Air, Da Capo 2, Grisaia no Kajitsu, Dysfunctional Systems, ef - a fairy tale of the two, Shinigami no Kiss and Hoshizora no Memoria. T'was a good year.

I'm in kind of a similar situation, if I had told my parents I'd be celebrating New Years alone they would never get off my ass for it, so as far as they know I'm at my friends' place.
-
So, how is everyone going to be celebrating New Years? Unless you're already done celebrating it, that is, in that case how was it? I've got some food ready and have already begun marathoning Clannad, I'll be about halfway through After Story by midnight, so that'll be great.

solidbatman's New Years Giveaway Palooza!

As much as I adore Kud, the last few of hours of Clannad were just me bawling incessantly, and then being hit with the joy of the ending, so I'm going to have to go with that. -

I'm playing One ~Kagayaku Kisetsu e~ at the moment. I've finished 2 out of 6 routes and I have some very mixed feelings about it. It's very much a Key VN, even if they weren't called that back then. Same art and same SOL comedy into tragedy formula. The comedy is great, the production values are actually really good for the time, they use sprites of the backs of characters sprites with different lighting for darker locations, both of which aren't something you see much. And it doesn't seem to treat the reader as an idiot, some things which are better left implied than openly stated are left implied. Only problem is that, at least in the routes I've done, and I suspect that it is also the case in the rest, the "tragedy" part is exactly the same, with the only difference being the heroine you chose. And it wouldn't be too bad if it was a good story, but it's a huge ass-pull even by Key standards. It comes out of nowhere, for no reason, and after a while everything is fixed just as suddenly. Maybe it's explained better in other routes, but there's no true route, so I'm not so sure about that.

One ~Kagayaku Kisetsu e~ Summary One's story revolves around Kouhei Orihara, the main protagonist, who suspects that at some point his current life will change while living a peaceful daily routine. Due to this, he begins to seclude himself in the Eternal World, a world within his mind. The game's main recurring motif is a focus on the Eternal World, a mystical alternate space which is never clearly explained, and the details of which are unknown. Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order There isn't really a best order in this game, so just pick a girl you like and do her route. After you've gotten one good end you can do Hikami's route. I personally went Nagamori-Misaki-Mio-Akane-Nanase-Shiina-Hikami. Route Guideline Nagamori Mizuka Kawana Misaki Kouzuki Mio Satomura Akane Nanase Rumi Shiina Mayu Hikami Shun Attribution This walkthrough is based on info attained here with some adjustments made by me.

solidbatman's New Years Giveaway Palooza!

My New Years resolution is to get at least a B+ on all of my courses, learn to read VNs in Japanese at a more or less decent speed and possibly quit Dota 2 (like that's happening >.>). -
Favorite Video Games of all Time (Excluding VNs)
Flutterz replied to solidbatman's topic in Gaming Talk
Here's my top 5 in no particular order: Dota 2 (if only because I've spent nearly 2.5k hours in it) Star Control 2 The Ur-Quan Masters (a game that's older than me that I still play from time to time) Minecraft (I still find myself coming back to it every now and again) Persona 3 Portable (not only is it a great game, but it also started the series of events that lead to me discovering VNs) Terraria (couldn't think of anything better, and it's certainly a great game that I've spent a lot of time playing) -
I'm still thinking about whether or not to kickstart it for 6 pounds to get the digital copy, it'll be interesting to give it a try when it comes out.

Only one I can tell recommend you is Always Remember Me, and not because I played it but because I saw a hilarious LP of it. xD

Welcome to the forums! Enjoy your stay~ I'll recommend Clannad because nobody has recommended it yet. -
Started Zero Escape Virtue's Last Reward, and it's pretty fun so far, although I hope the puzzles get just a little bit more more challenging.
