  1. Oh goodness.... I'm sorry Ryoji. Really sorry. I didn't even think about this. I've never actually gotten a bad end in a VN and I rarely play for 100%. There could be a LOT of bad stuff and I never saw it. Let's find somebody else to give you an answer about content. EDIT: I did do the routes, but, again, never saw a bad end. Darn. I'm sorry.
  2. Joachim - could you clarify the points you just made? Here's what I'm getting so far: 1) Pirating Japanese games but not the English-Licensed versions is hypocrisy 2) Something about Aaeru's figure on the ideological shift where radical policies become the norm with time and societal change Clarification will help everybody understand where you're coming from
  3. Ooooh. Nice. I've never been one to collect things, though I know collecting figurines in Anime culture is a big deal, but that one looks cool. Q: When you do NG+ you can choose a different servant each time, right?
  4. , the ending cutting the tension was, to me, the biggest sense of fullfillment, since Rin's route was the hardest to finish, because of all the tension, it was like I REALLY had to work to finish it up. Hanako's route was pretty easy to me, since it was mostly about healing a broken heart, not broken from love, but broken from pain and isolation, which comes naturally to me (not trying to brag or anything, it just is something I am skilled in, helping people) but it was definitely still my second favorite, so many amazing scenes. Wow, Torbin, you really did a good job of expressing exactly how I feel about Rin's route, too. Your comment about how "she ran through these subtle emotions that were, for her, actually huge differences" is extremely apt and well put. I'm gonna go put this in my journal. Thanks for giving me the words : )
  5. Oh... that Hanako scene warmed my heart, too. It's pretty much just as good in Lilly's route. And to tell you the truth, KS made my heart break (and then reheal) soooo many times. It was my first VN, and the entire time I couldn't believe what an effect this game was having on me! Lilly's route is my favorite. I'm writing a big post all about it, so I won't go into a ton of detail here. Suffice it to say that I'm a "Lilly's-route-fo-life-supa-numba-one-ramen" fan. Talk to me about Rin's route. I've played/finished it, and not only was it a compleeeeeeeetely different experience than Lilly/Hanako routes, but it was uber meta at times as well. I felt weighed down and frustrated the entire game. Only the ending cut the tension. What did you love about her route/the ending?
  6. That's a great idea. I've never really tried light novels. I downloaded all of the Sword Art Online LNs but haven't read them yet for fear or spoilers (freakin' love that show). I think I'll do that! Thanks : )
  7. I loved Fate/Zero. It's the most impactful Anime I've watched to date (unless you consider the hypnotic effect Pokemon had on me all during my growing up years, in which case it probably wins out). When I get a chance I plan on posting a full review on here, but as for now, I'm interested in hearing whether or not you liked it! Lots of people didn't like it, and if any of you feel that way, I'd love to hear why.
  8. Interested in seeing people's favorites : ) My Votes: Favorite Route - Heaven's Feel Favorite Heroine - Saber Favorite Servant - Saber I really liked Sakura, but the Heaven's Feel route was so visceral and they did so much to her, that it's kind of exhausting for me to consider her whole person. I want to give her a hug and get her far away from the FSN setting. Saber, on the other hand, has nothing but the happiest (okay, and heart-breaking-est) of memories, and for that reason, I suppose, I'd choose her as favorite heroine.
  9. Yay for discussion about this game . Fate/Extra is cool. It was my second dungeon-exploration game (after Persona 3 Portable), and so the grinding wore on me pretty fast. That said, having a game (in English) set in the FSN world is really awesome. I'm ~halfway through the game playing with Saber. Anybody use Archer or Caster yet? I'd imagine their characters would be really cool. I hope with New Game+ it'll give me an option to play with a different companion. Not sure, tho. PS: Saber, what figure did it come with? Is it cool?
  10. OOooooh. I've been a FSN fan forever and have never considered this! Are you good with just FSN canon, or is Fate/Zero stuff okay, too? (off to contemplate...)
  11. It looks really, really good! This is cool on a PC, but it flows almost like a mobile app. Maybe we're watching the birth of the Fuwanovel app?
  12. Alright, well, I totally just flooded the site with posts. All of which were entitled, "Read First!". That serves as an unofficial announcement that the game-specific discussion/review section is online! Yay! Please go and post content and discussions and reviews to your hearts' content! We're looking for feedback as well, so please let us know if you have any great ideas on how to improve the system!
  13. This forum is the place to discuss games not hosted by Fuwanovel. If you believe a game is getting enough chatter to deserve its own forum (like the Fuwa-hosted games), please PM an admin.
  14. Hey everybody, we've got some really exciting news for you! Aaeru and Ryoji have been really patient as I've mocked up a game-specific review/discussion solution. I think all three of us are on board with the current iteration, and I'm happy to let you know that it will be going live very soon. I think we struck a great balance between accessibility and organization. Aaeru has awesome plans for implementing reviews on the main site, and once they go live (they're in planning phase right now) I think they'll be a feature that'll help make Fuwanovel a key part of the VN community map. As always, Ryoji has been monitoring everybody's feedback and has kept really close track of all of the concerns expressed here. We hope that you'll give us feedback once the new superstructure launches, and will help us make it as efficient as possible. Most importantly, we hope that you will be quick to post reviews/discussion/fanart/etc. about your favorite games, and to populate the new section with all of your enthusiasm. As for me, I'm gonna go straight to Katawa Shoujo, Fate/Stay Night, Sharin no Kuni (+FD), and G-Senjou no Maou. Thanks a bundle, and stay tuned! We're just a few hours away from go on this.
  15. Happy Birthday, Blackbird!
  16. Happy birthday!

  17. Hey all, this is a fairly common question and I'm looking for help in writing about availability of english/hacked-english-translated VNs for PSP and PS Vita. Know of any? Pure VNs are preferrable, tho I suppose any RPGs with heavy VN elements are ok, too.
  18. Well said, Harry. Well said. (Not gonna quote Harry's post, because it was all excellent and I'd have to quote the entire thing) PS: And yes, I'll try and find that interview about VNs written for self-projection. It's somewhere on the net... PPS: And re: Prof Tay = Oh, I am honored! I meant it all in good humor ; ).

    Jeanne d'Arc

(Random: Ever since finishing Fate/Zero last month, "Jeanne" makes me think of that show )
  20. Wow, thank you very much! I'm really looking forward to it!
  21. I'll take that bet ; ). But yes! I need suggestions. As you can see from my list, I'm a big fan of slice-of-life sorts of anime. I'm willing to try anything, tho : ). Edit: I have a crunchyroll subscription, if it helps, but have also learned a few other places to find anime. Suggestions of this nature are still welcome, tho, since people have different preferences on where to obtain "the goods"
  22. Bolverk did it! Perfectly expressed the emotions of finishing "one of those unforgettable" VNs!
  23. It's just you ; )
  24. I need an anime counselor/advisor. I've watched, like, 3 shows and know not where to go. Here's the complete list: Top 10: Fate ZeroSword Art OnlineKokoro ConnectMyself;YourselfAnotherPokemon!!............
