  1. Novelty isn't bad! Ren'Py is arguably more powerful, but they'll both get you to a good final product as long as you recognize the limitations. If you have any Python programming background, you'll love Ren'Py. Novelty has a simpler UI, though, which could be ideal depending on your needs. Take a look at both software packages, and check out their native community forums (for Ren'Py, check out Lemmasoft forums. I'll have to look up Novelty's forums). There are TONS of resources there to get you started.
  2. Plot aside -- are you using Ren'py for the game, or another platform? Have you started any of the tech/UI work? If your'e new to making a VN, I could point you to some good walkthroughs and software (Ren'py is a great one to start with).
  3. There aren't any words to describe the impact you have left on the forums. We're all looking forward to you getting better and coming back to us full-force, and full of "GO NOW"s. : ) The history of anime is going to be so epic. There isn't anyone more qualified to do it, either. I just hope you'll be sure to add the philosophy of threes into the epilogue ("Buy three copies. One to use, one to store, and one to spread the gospel") (#konataforever)
  4. Just send him here : ). It'll be easier for everybody.
  5. Magicflier, I'm going to move this to the fan translation board so that regular posters there (active translators) will notice it! I'll notify you by PM of new location link.
  6. Good troubleshooting, everybody. Going to change the title of the post so it's clearer for future readers. Thanks!
  7. Absolutely my mistake. I'll fix this as soon as I get home. Good catch! EDIT: Fixed.
  8. Happy Birthday!!

  9. Fantastic. Glad you were able to get it working! Locking this thread, PM a mod if you need it re-opened.
  10. I get lots of PMs about this, so I thought I'd post the solution publicly: If Windows repeatedly lowers the volume of a VN you're playing, despite your efforts to go into the sound mixer and raise it again, try the following: (taken from link)
  11. FYI: PSP patching is a much different process, and significantly less common, than PC patching. They're not very common, and to my knowledge there isn't a PSP version in Eng. Note: VNDB is a good place to check for extant translations (example for this game: vndb.org/v2002). Since there isn't a download to be shared, once xion reads this and responds, I will be moving this to the visual novels board.
  12. Sorry to resurrect the dead here, but I wanted to gauge how y'all feel about the VNDB and MAL fields. Do you like it as-is, or would you like field titles so it doesn't appear so naked? Ex: Visual Novels: VNDB Anime: MAL
  13. If anyone needs this topic unlocked for feedback, please PM me. Otherwise, issue resolved, locked!
  14. If you have game-related questions, feel free to post about them I. The visual novels board. Thanks! Topic solved, locked.
  15. Wow, it looks great! Almost too great... Gotta remind myself that development take time. Still, though, great and evocative framing and coloring.
  16. (First, let's raise the dead...) {Fate Stay Night} Sent you a PM, but, for the record, you have to clear one route to open the next, and in-game decisions will determine your route! -------------------- I'm playing Moenovel's If My Heart Had Wings. I'm really enjoying it! It's beautiful.... (on the side, however, I've been playing some PlayStation classics like Infamous, Jak and Daxter, etc. Having a lot of fun!)
  17. Hi everyone, thanks for being willing to help! If you need access to the blog or need a post approved/published, let me know (by PM or direct email)! I've got admin/publishing rights for the blog, and can help with any blog-related issues. (I realize all of this is old news, now, but for future reference, I'm here if you need me)
  18. To add to what Kendjin wrote: this indicates your computer is not allowing the program to record its progress to the hard drive. Check that it's not "read only", as Kendjin wrote, make sure that you're not actively seeding the game via torrent, and that your directory permissions are correct. All of this is assuming you're running this game off a hard drive. If you're running it off a CD/DVD (or USB, depending on the settings), things are a bit different.
  19. Happy Birthday!

  20. (Feedback/suggestions appreciated as we get this going) Check.
  21. Look at all of this agreement going on! It's beautiful! Truth be told, I've long felt this way, too. So let's do it. The "Games" sub-forum will go live in a few minutes. At which point, I'll ask all the mods to help me move topics to their new home. Thanks, everyone, for the suggestion.
  22. As always, great content. Looking forward to watching this, especially since the game has gone golden.
  23. Happy Birthday!

  24. For bad rep, posts start getting flagged for admins, or require mod approval before posting. Batman nailed it on the head, tho, for general purposes.
