  1. Good point, I forgot to mention this at the start. The point I was finding so interesting was that Moogy split with JAST in part because he found the ineffectual publishing schedule to be ridiculous. Reminded me of your own points against Mangagamer. Moogy's history with Fuwanovel isn't well known, so you're right that the info you posted (not quoted here) will probably surprise people.
  2. Seconded. Did some research, and XP requires Japanese language files to be installed. You can download them from Microsoft, or via control panel->Languages. Look for the East Asian languages pack, or Japanese pack.
  3. It's extremely, painfully true! Baby steps have always been the key for me, though, to getting back on track: no matter how behind I may be, I always learn a couple new kanji, and do a couple reviews. If you don't have the drive/energy/time to wipe out the backlog of reviews, do a few, but always keep progressing with new kanji. I'm tellin' ya... Stopping = Death. The floor is lava. Anyway, glad to see the update. We're here for you, so keep up the good work!
  4. After years of searching for the real-life "Start Button", and upon finding it in Ecuador, our hero is dismayed to learn he's only hit 43% completion!
  5. @Ritli - Thanks for the words of wisdom!
  6. Granted, but I wish the wish of the person above me was granted.
  7. Congrats on finishing Katawa Shoujo! Such a great game!

  8. Okay guys: If you're seeing slashes (/), you are NOT in Japanese non-unicode location. In order to get help, you need to post according to the rules and format here: https://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/813-game-issues-before-you-post/ That will help us help you.
  9. Not sure if anyone else here has noticed/commented on this, but the most recent patch released by Moogy (Dra-Koi) had some interesting news: Say what you will about Moogy, but he's one of the best translators out there, and this is big news for the community. Granted: TLWiki didn't always partner with JAST (goes both ways), but they have had a long-standing relationship. In any case, I think we can all look forward to more releases and good work from TLWiki, and now hopefully in a more timely manner. Note: As I read this, I had a little deja vu. Same principle, two big community pillars making the same argument about bloated release schedules negatively impacting the community.
  10. Happy to, just need some homework and info from you, first! See this thread: http://forums.fuwano...efore-you-post/
  11. I liked the anime a lot, but was disappointed in the ending. I felt like the writers never really figured out what they wanted to do, which was a shame since the characters had so much potential! I'm for Fuyuumi, too, but I have a massive guilt complex towards Chiwa in saying so. I think Masuzu is the correct "choice" for Eita, though.
  12. That depends. Many visual novels get picked up by antiviruses and the files quarantined, but the supermajority are false positives. Where did you get your copy of the game? That's probably a better indication of reliability.
  13. Anybody hear about this one? http://www.polygon.com/2013/4/23/4246922/errant-heart-is-a-way-for-creators-to-escape-the-compromises-of
  14. ... challenge accepted.
  15. Just then, over the news came a frightening report: a neighbor, Timmy, had fallen down the well.
  16. So good! Mikel's FSN will haunt my dreams forever ; ) Kotaku had some good ones, too: Link. Here's one choice morsel:
  17. SolidBatman's Anthem (How did I live before this?)
  18. Thanks for taking the time to register and post your feedback. This is extremely valuable, and we all appreciate it. Here's a few thoughts about some points you made: Sorting. This is something we've all mentioned, and it's a great point. We're all in agreement that more sorting/search options are useful and important, and we're actively working on it. The site coders have lots of projects they're working on to make the site better, and this will be addressed soon (their personal schedules permitting). Game Dates. At one point the site suffered some corruption of that data. Many of the listed dates are casualties of that event. Several good thoughts, though. Thanks. Downloads. There are two sides to that coin, and you did a good job at summarizing the second one: 1) Accessibility, and 2) Updates. I'd argue that for a site like Fuwanovel, which is built to be a supportive, friendly place for new (and old) VN readers, accessibility is the correct priority. Pre-patched games allow instant playability. Most of us remember the first time we tried tofind a game, find a patch, merge the two, and troubleshoot the horrors that followed. These patched games largely bypass those frustrations and allow new users to immediately start experimenting. These points take nothing away from your arguments, of course, but as Aaeru has done a great job of keeping the games and patches up to date, I think Fuwanovel's hit the sweet spot. Also, a quick word about those piracy files - we're in the process of updating the torrents. The new torrents don't have the piracy video/content. Thanks again for providing a lot of good feedback to digest. The whole community here has a big desire to see Fuwanovel keep improving, and these suggestions will help us. I look forward to any more thoughts you have, or the thoughts of other posters responding to this.
  19. Oh, man, Aaeru, that's awful. Once I'm home I'll seed. Sorry to hear the bad news.
  20. Well said, and exactly the point I was trying to make. We'll get out of your hair now. Enjoy the discussion, guys!
  21. I'm such a perfectionist in other parts of my life that I drew a line with VNs and 100%. I generally do one route of a game, take a break, and come back later to enjoy another route freshly. Man, I admire you guys. I don't know how you do it, but I'm sure it's pretty fulfilling For me and my house, though, George Banks is saying no.
  22. (Just wanted to pop in here at the start to remind everybody that any advocacy or positive spin of real-life counterparts of certain sexual acts like rape, underage sex, etc. is prohibited on Fuwanovel) (That said, enjoy your discussion)
  23. And the truth was simple: for four payments of $19.99 he could get his very own set of floor polish! (BONUS! - It doubles as a dessert topping!)
  24. It was a big hit, though, and soon made up >35% of the galactic economy. Lol... oh, we knew it... we knew it from the moment this story became a sick competition to kill off each others' characters ; )
