Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ~Latest Edition~ translation question
Inorin replied to Novel21's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Yeah so hopefully age can get a new publisher soon , like how they did with Sekai and the re-release of the Muv Luv series. -
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ~Latest Edition~ translation question
Inorin replied to Novel21's topic in Visual Novel Talk
It has been picked up apparently. Now all we need is the translation for Total Eclipse and MLA Chronicles Vol.3 and 4. -
I haven't watched the anime, but from the comments I've read online, it's nothing compared to the visual novel. Sort of like the Grisaia anime, I guess.

If you've only read Down the Rabbit Hole I (which I think is probably the case), then you've only completed 1/6 of the game, which means you should install the patch to get the remaining 5/6. For G-senjou no Maou, the only other vn that's closest to it in terms of intensity (but not plot) is probably Sharin no Kuni. For Subahibi, I can't really comment since I have not completed it.

I've just finished Rea's route. Boy, what a ride it has been. I've never felt this emotional since I last read Muv Luv Alternative; damn I even nearly teared up towards the end of the game. If Marie's route was epic, Rea's route was godly. Never in my whole vn reading experience had I ever witnessed such powerful battle scenes; it's truly a clash of the gods. Dies Irae is very similar to Fate Stay Night in so many ways, the first being its battle royale theme and the second being its characters sharing similar traits: Ren wielding Marie is like Shirou wielding Saber; Kei is like Rin (the tsundere rival teaching the protagonist the basics and somehow ends up falling for him); Tubal Cain is like Berserker (the uncontrollable beast); Trifa is like Kirei (the fake priest); and Reinhard is like Gilgamesh (the guy who thinks he's almighty and all). Perhaps that's why I had such high expectations for this vn, so when I finished Kasumi's route, I couldn't help but feel disappointed, since it didn't feel like the full story was being told. Then I went on to Kei's route but there were still quite some things I couldn't quite understand. It wasn't until Marie's route that I started to feel that Dies Irae would be a 9/10 worthy type of vn (at least for me) and finishing Rea's route just a few minutes ago has pretty much solidified this feeling. Words can't even describe how much I enjoyed reading Dies Irae - I think I may have a new outright 2nd favorite now.

Finished Marie's route in Dies Irae and can't help but feel awed by it. Kasumi's route and Kei's route were pretty good but Marie's route is on a whole new level. If I am to compare Dies Irae to Fate Stay Night, Kasumi's route and Kei's route would be like Fate and Marie's route would be like Unlimited Blade Works. I have a feeling that the final route (Rea's route) will be like Heaven's Feel but we'll see.

Recommendation of VN for different categories
Inorin replied to phantomJS's topic in Recommendations
For people wanting to cry bitch tears: Muv Luv Alternative For people looking for a super long vn: Umineko For people looking for time travel: Steins Gate For people wanting to solve cases: Ace Attorney For people who like battle royales: Danganronpa For people who like magic and stuff: Fate Stay Night For people looking for an escape mystery: Zero Escape For people who like unexpected plot twists: Ever17 -
At the very least, you should start from Apollo Justice (the 4th game) but it's best if you start from the first game, since there are some references to past games in the newer titles.
-
Trials and Tribulations is on a whole new level as compared to the first 2 games so I'm sure you'll enjoy it once you reach there (though I did like the graphics for Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice more)
-
Objectively speaking, there isn't really one stand-out title that's more visually appealing than the rest (if you discount the really bad ones). However, if you are just asking for an opinion, then here's mine: Muv Luv Alternative for battle scenes and Grisaia for art
-
Happy 25th birthday, @Dreamysyu! Damn, I feel like a child now
-
Much appreciated. Just skipped my way through Kasumi's route in Fabula and realized that there were 4 short not-so-important H-scenes which weren't shown in Amantes. Guess I will first complete Amantes
-
I have a few favorite ones. Favorite sister-sister pairs: Meiya and ***** (Muv-Luv), Rin and ****** (Fate Stay Night), Komomo and Kosame (Hoshizora no Memoria), Hisui and Kohaku (Tsukihime) Favorite brother-sister pairs: Yuuji and ****** (Grisaia), Kenichi and ****** (Sharin no Kuni), Shiki and Akiha (Tsukihime), You and Chimami (Hoshizora no Memoria) What is your favorite sibling pair? It can be either blood-related or non blood-related.

Kurisu-chan is in the voting options though! (That guy's an imposter ; Kurisu is not a guy!) I can't think of any more tsunderes (at least the ones that are popular)
-
So it's best to go for Fabula? But I've read that Amentes has extra content, though I'm not sure how much.
-
Finished Kasumi's route in Dies Irae. Now, I'm wondering if I should proceed to the Act Est Fabula version or continue playing the Amantes Amentes version?
-
Umineko obviously.
-
Definitely not the protagonists from my favorite vns; fighting aliens with mechas, fighting famous heroes with magic projected weapons which barely last for a few seconds, having my loved ones die, or being trapped in some place are the last things I want to deal with in real life. If I have to choose, then I guess it will be Tomoya from Clannad. Sunohara would be fun to mess with and having Tomoyo wake me up everyday would be very nice indeed.
-
Hi! It's fine if you are new to vns; that's what the recommendation section is for Btw, your vndb profile link doesn't work. Your vndb link should be pointing to your user id, not your username. For example, in my case, it would be 138532.

Well hello there! It seems like there are quite a lot of introductions in fuwa lately
-
Hello Joyce! Welcome to fuwa P.S. What's your most favorite visual novel (series)?
-
Hello! It's not very often that I get to see someone else who had the same first vn series as me, so I'm glad I'm not alone. Anyways, welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay here! P.S What's your most favorite vn (series)?

Thanks for sharing your very insightful thoughts on Muv Luv! You could try reading Altered Fable for a change of pace. To be honest, Sharin no Kuni isn't exactly lighthearted, as it has its tense moments (though obviously not to the extent of MLA). If you had read Grisaia, I'm sure you would find the two to be quite similar. With that being said, Sharin is still a pretty solid vn in terms of plot so good luck with it!
