1. I consider those not released in the 2000s old (and those in the 2010s new; anything released between 2000 and 2010 is considered the middle ground). 2. Not really but for some reason, I haven't played any vns released before 200. 3. I've only read 2 VNs released before 2001: Never7 and Tsukihime. I did quite like the sci-fi parts in Never7, though it wasn't anything like the Steins Gate kind. As for Tsukihime, I liked it more than Never 7 so yeah 4. I can't really comment since I haven't played any vns released before 2000

What are the characteristics of an amazing visual novel?
Inorin replied to Happiness+'s topic in Visual Novel Talk
Character development (Grisaia, Fate Stay Night , Muv Luv Alternative), plot development (Ever17, Zero Escape), the emotional feels (MLA) , the thrill (MLA,G-senjou no Maou, FSN) and art (Grisaia). Comedy is also welcome but not really necessary. Obviously, there isn't a vn that has ALL the desirable traits, which is why a vn which can be considered a kamige to someone may not be considered as one to another. -
Since you've already played Ever17, I recommend the Zero Escape series as they are written by the same guy and have some similarities

Hello there! Frankly speaking, there aren't a lot of legit horror vns out there but Phenomeno is pretty decent, despite it being very short. Also, I think it's good have the link to a vndb list of all the vns you've played on your profile so that people can recommend vns to you based off it

I've resumed playing Little Busters and started reading my first ever otome vn, Code Realize. I swear I have this bad habit of resuming stalled vns or picking up new ones even though I still have unfinished ones Which means that now I am reading 5 vns at the same time: Little Busters, Code Realize, Grisaia Phantom Trigger, The House in Fata Morgana and Hoshizora no Memoria.

I really want to say Kagami Sumika and Shirogane Takeru from the Muv Luv series, but since I can't say much without spoiling pretty much everything from the series, I will go with my next favourite pairing. Vote: Emiya Shirou and Matou Sakura from the Fate series. Emiya Shirou is your typical weak-and-useless protagonist at the start, with his ideals of wanting to save everyone and recklessness always getting himself into deep trouble. However, in the Heavens Feel route, once he starts to fall in love with Sakura, he gradually starts to change his ways, and this is especially evident when Sakura starts to change for the worse. By doing what he did for Sakura, he risked sacrificing the lives of thousands of others, thus effectively throwing away his ideals, which is to save everyone. Even when he finds out about Sakura's past, not only does he not turn away from Sakura, but he embraces her more. Anyways, here are some images of Sakura and Shirou: -
Next time perhaps you can get the game legally instead? This will obviously happen if you download torrents which have imperfect files

Did you mean Saya no Uta? Because google search tells me that hana no Uta is an anime series. Anyways, welcome! Hope you enjoy your stay here

Welcome! I also hail from Southeast Asia (more specifcally Singapore); which country are you from? Anyways, as people above me have already said, you do have a quite an interesting mix of visual novels there. You've got like 3 very popular games there (G-senjou no Maou,Ever17 and Muv Luv) so I'm really impressed. If you want some recommendations, you can always post under the Recommendations section on this forum

Almost 17 years old and still no translation even though it's one of the most popular vns out there. What is age even thinking

The translation for Muv Luv Alternative Total Eclipse has been dead since 2015. I know there's already an anime for it but it's an adaptation, meaning that it (probably) cuts parts from the VN. There's also the KimiNozo translation which has been dead since 2016. Again, I know there's an anime adaptation of it but it also (probably) doesn't tell the full story. Well, there are still a lot of other dead translation projects which I want to see revived but the above 2 mentioned are the ones I can recall right now

Which of the following viruses tries to hide from anti-virus programs by actively altering and corrupting the chosen service call interruptions when they are being run? A. Cavity virus B. Polymorphic virus C. Tunneling virus D. Stealth virus One site says it's C and another says it's D. What's the correct answer? I mean, don't they both try to hide from antivirus programs? I'm confused

It's certainly unique; even though it's a Japanese vn, it gives me more of a European feel than a Japanese one and I don't mean that in a bad way (in fact, it's quite refreshing). It has also quite a number of plot twists which I didn't expect since I went into the game without reading reviews on it. There were also some surprisingly funny moments here and there which I quite enjoyed. As for my favourite character, I don't really have one since I was more ineterested in the plot than the characters, but I did quite like I am tentatively giving it a 8.3 but that may change once I finish it.

looks like the code function on fuwanovel will be much more useful now #include <stdio.h> int main() { printf("Hello World."); return 0; }

I've now resumed playing Fata Morgana no Yakata, Grisaia Phantom Trigger and Hoshizora no Memoria. I'm still a long way off from finishing Phantom Trigger (still at Vol. 2, don't even know if Vol.4 is the last one) and Hoshimemo so it's gonna take me quite some time to finish both of them. As for Fata Morgana, I'm going to finish it soon* and I can safely say that the game has some really good plot twists, with this one catching me totally off guard: * I'm at the part where

Wow a kamige right after another? You're on a roll here. If you hadn't gotten Muv Luv yet, you should get it on Steam soon because there's a 30% off sale for both Muv Luv and Muv Luv Alternative which will end on 8 March. How much would you rate Ever17? I rated it a 9 because it had some of the best plot twists I've ever seen in a vn and the ending was wrapped up nicely, even though it did take quite some time for the pace to pick up

No, there's no such forum. Just ask the guy who created the patches directly.

I've a tablet which only has 1 GB RAM and 1.33 GHZ processor speed, but able to run most visual novels like Subahibi, Grisaia and Fate Hollow Ataraxia just fine. The tablet in the link you provided is a beast compared to mine so you will have no trouble at all
-
The patche for vol 1 and 2 is actually the same. I used that patch for vol 3 and 4 but only vol 3 was able to work. Obviously if i knew what patch was needed for vol 4, i would have just said it could work, right?
-
Phantom trigger vol.1 to 3 work. Vol 4 cannot work as of now
-
to start the converter, you have to right-click it and select "Run as Administrator", or else it won't work.

Muv Luv Alternative. The only vn to make me cry (bawl my eyes out). I've played 3 VNs by Key (Clannad,Tomoyo After, Planteraian) and none has made me quite a wreck as much as MLA did. Even now, whenever I listen to Howl to the Future and Muv Luv, the emotions will come back and hit me.

The vndb page includes all the editions of the Japanese release. Note that vndb isn't a download site; it only tells you where you can get a particular edition of the game and the translation patches (if any) from. Based on the vndb page, only the partial English patch translating the first chapter is available so unless you know Japanese, you should just wait for a full translation to come out.
