I could complain about the shitshow that is the Main heroines list, but instead I'm going to ask the far more pressing question of how is it that Aokana's best character (Shindou) didn't even make the top 5? I hope they don't take the poll into account. The last thing we need is Rika to get screwed out of screentime even more. Until I saw that list I had forgotten she was somehow considered a main character.

Thanks for the suggestions, I unfortunately (or fortunately I suppose) already own both of those. Actually I own two copies of Clannad, I'm not entirely sure how that happened. Tokyo Babel and Fata Morgana have both been on my radar for a while, thanks for letting me know they've got a decent sale going on. Aselia and Seinarukana look interesting, how difficult are they? I don't really play turn based rpgs, so if they're easy I'll definitely pick them up but if they're difficult I'll probably have to pass.

The steam winter sale (as well as the winter sale for a variety of other distributors) is upon us. Any vns worth reading (or more likely worth adding to the ever growing backlog) that are at a drastically reduced price?

I can't speak for everyone, but my current life situation leaves me uncomfortable feeling a healthy range of emotions with regards to real life issues and the safe space provided by fiction allows me the chance to experience a variety of emotions I'm restricted from normally.

I'm pretty curious about "Noi's unlockable plugin" and the lines that the Mascot has. Regardless, it sounds like they put some actual effort into their censorship instead of just haphazardly cutting shit out and making characters appear clothed without changing references to nudity. I'm probably going to tackle the all-ages version for this one.

I'd put the Seed of the World Tree (especially the second half) as being more similar to G-Senjou than Angelic Howl. Regardless I second the motion. Grisaia no Kajitsu is a phenomenal vn but it's built pretty much entirely on comedy and heart wrenching/warming emotional moments; it's not gonna give the same style of entertainment that G-Senjou does.

I finally got around to reading Euphoria last week, finished it up yesterday. I went in expecting some mediocre saw rip off that wouldn't have any depth past shock value, but what I got was: Needless to say I enjoyed the novel quite a bit more than I thought I would, despite the fact I had to reread most of the boring part at the beginning for each route. Most importantly, I can say that Euphoria has largely made me question my prejudice against nukige, as I now realize that nukige does not necessarily equate to no/bad plot. I do have to say though that it's reputation is pretty misleading; while I certainly wouldn't describe the content as tame, considering it to be extreme is also off the mark. Overall I'd say the transgressive content is fairly middle of the road, with some of the later scenes skewing slightly towards extreme. Realistically, any mentally healthy adult could read this without much trouble. What I'm really curious about though is what the checkbox for gore cgs does; as far as I could tell none of the cgs contained gore, so I'm curious what this option actually changes (blood perhaps?) Regardless, I'm glad I stopped passing on this novel due to my preconceived notions of it as Euphoria rose above all others like it that I've read.

First year characters (i.e. Mashiro) are most likely 15 or 16. Second year characters (i.e. Masaya, Asuka, and Misaki) are most likely 16 or 17. As you can clearly see all characters are "over 18 years old." I don't understand why you'd ever doubt a disclaimer that's so obviously true.
