  1. I have the same problem lately, but with reading and enjoying books and vn's in general. That said, if a visual novel takes long time to become interesting, it's either badly written, or awfully badly paced; good stories instantly take you to where it's the most interesting, give you a glimpse of what's to come and hook you up to it's premise, to the point you won't even observe how much time had passed since it all began. Majority of vn's starts from those damn boring slice of life fragments, regardless whether they are chuuni stories about people who jump between dimensions, fantasy war tales or post-apo sci-fi stories where a dude simply tries to survive against all odds; it's extremely annoying for a seasoned reader and I'm not surprised why so many people have problems with getting into new vn's after a while... unless you're that rare kind of breed, like @Clephas (wish I still had a passion towards reading like him).
  2. Don't worry, you'll be back (sooner, or later)
  3. You might stumble into a problem; there aren't really that many vn's, which feature well fleshed out characters, who aren't as much "evil", as more of being in conflict with whatever other groups of interests strive for. Such characters, with their own moral code, acting according to their own rules, having clear and down-to-earth goals and not behaving in a purely evil, but morally ambigious ways are a rarity in japanese vn's. ...Although you might try the Cyber Slayer or Hanachirasu.
  4. Just wait till GOG starts to host 18+ stuff; it'll happen, sooner or later. When that happens, Nutaku will have no place of existence outside their previous, non-game related businesses. Unlike shitty Steam, GOG doesn't host DRM-locked software and there's no need to be constantly online and logged into their services.
  5. If they seriously won't manage to release it this year, I think my faith in humanity will be completely lost.
  6. Reported for public indecency
  7. Decent idea, really mediocre execution... which is common with all ALcot games.
  8. Is this even objective?
  9. More like transcendence, to be honest. As Deep Blue said, stories featuring such turn of events are one of the most emotionally impactful and meaningful, if properly written. And I'm not just talking about heroines (as those typically include only galge-type games), but any major characters, who die or "disappear forever" in the end. Best of those usually bring catharsis in it's purest form.
  10. From one perspective, this indeed seems like a good move on their side, but on the other hand, from what I've seen it's like they're contradicting themselves with samples of their previous behaviour, @Sanahtlig covered so well in his past editorials. I'm not going to judge them yet, let their actions speak for themselves; I'm ready and willing to see where this might go. As far as I am concerned, the premise of japanese vn industry having a stable ground to stand upon and thrive in regards to western market seems very intoxicating, although I was never a fan of a single company holding monopoly over their choice of trade.
  11. From what I heard it's actually a problem related to the IPB fees. It's possible Tay already mailed IP about the issue.
  12. Tayutama's on my backlog, still hoping I'll be able to read it and it won't be in the next five years or so. That said, you should give the Mega Laughter a try. Haven't played it myself, but I heard it's really decent and sports a very similiar style and setting to Cannonball; can't say much about characters, but the sole premise of this game is hilarious enough for me to pick it up
  13. Which mod thought it would be fun to put a user limit to the chat?

    Inochi no Spare

The kind of stuff I'd propably love to read.
  15. You're my star, my greatest inspiration. TL&DR Please continue, your insights are valuable.
  16. Joining this community.
  17. Most vn's or more precisely - eroge, especially charage and moege tend to have self-insert main characters. At this point, you should already know why.
  18. Roman titles? There's nothing behind the mosaics eitherway, so stop complaining
  19. >remaster for a 2007 game @Arsudar Consider changing the font color of your OP, it's completely unreadable. That, or simply stop the monkey business and write like everyone else; different font does not make you a special snowflake.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, just as I replied earlier. People often jump to conclusions way too fast and translating things isn't really as much about effciency, but patience and perseverance.
  21. Sounds good. Thanks for sharing this, I was looking for something to read aside from vn's.
