I know people don't care nor do people post these kinds of threads anymore, but I thought I'd make an announcement to say that I'm going through a rough spot emotionally right now, so I'll be putting the new game on hold and taking some time away from Fuwanovel. The whole Aokana TL mess is just pushing me down quite hard, and I just need some time away from visual novel related material. I guess it feels better to post that. I'll still be signing in on occasion to check if something was updated, I just won't be actively posting for awhile. That being said, if you need to reach out to me, feel free to PM. Ever want to open your very own establishment of the universe's finest food while recruiting the galaxy's greatest servers? Enter Dream Cafe Tycoon! Features: Become a manager of a dream establishment constructed in any image of your choosing! Whether its a small maid cafe, a dine-in drive through, or a grand eatery of exotic dishes, the choice is yours! Create a unique name, logo, and food item for your establishment which will help solidify your name in history. Spend your Woolong (money) on initial furnishings, decorations, and other upgrades. Depending on how you shop, more patrons may be attracted to your eatery and ultimately leave happy at the end of the day! Recruit your very own freelance maids/servers. Some of the galaxy's finest are looking for jobs, and depending on your work force, you may end up being the hottest place around. Play out and serve actual customers who visit your establishment. Depending on how you choose to react to certain situations and patrons, your rating may increase and move you one step closer to victory. How it Works: The game will be divided into teams or solo individuals who will compete to create the best service establishment this side of the nebula. Each group will start with a certain amount of Woolong, which will be used to design a name, logo, and initial design for your restaurant. After you have set up shop, you will spend the rest of your money on recruiting servers from around the universe to help service your shop. Each server is unique, and depending on their stats and personality, they may be able to assist you in winning over customers who visit your shop. Each server has a cost and requires a salary, which means that you as a manager will need to manage who you let work for your shop. Essentially, each server you hire has the potential to earn you more customers (points), but also costs you more in the long run depending on how you choose to budget your money. Not only that, but servers themselves are unique in their own special way. Depending on their specific "class," you may attract specific groups of customers that are willing to pay top dollar for great service (i.e. = loli servers may attract lolicon patrons). In addition to your group of servers you choose to hire, special scenarios will present themselves throughout the game. These scenarios include multiple choice answers that you as managers must decide on what is best for the customer. Depending on your response, you may earn more money to be used in upgrading your establishment or for hiring more recruits. More money means more points, and more points means a step closer to victory. Just like an actual visual novel, the choices you make will swing your rating drastically and can be both beneficial, and potentially dangerously serious. A patron saunters into your establishment and sighs a heavy breath of discomfort. He's wearing a business suit and puffing a very large cigar, which doesn't seem to be any sort of alien you recognize. Wrapped around each of his arms are two highly attractive humanoid females of blue color, both of which he seems highly uninterested in. He slowly approaches the counter and removes the cigar from his mouth. After loudly demanding someone assist him, a large group of your current patrons currently turn to see what the commotion is all about. Many of your current guests seem uncomfortable that he has entered the eatery. What do you do? A. Assist him and his female companions with the best possible service you can provide. If you have a VIP lounge, you decide it would be best to bring him there since he seems to be a very high profile customer. He may have large amounts of money, and giving the correct impression may leave a good mark on your business. Good service for a rich man means lots of good tips! B. Lead him into sections with a lot of attractive servers in your crew. Seeing that he is uninterested in his female companions, you find it may be best to lead him into an area with a lot of female attention so he can get away from the girls he is currently with. The look in his eye and his taste for tobacco may suggest he likes his women sexy, so you tend to lead him away from the cuter servers at your eatery. C. Kindly ask him to leave the establishment due to his disruption and potential harm to the other guests who are currently repulsed by his smoking habit and rude demeanor. While he may be upset, you are willing to risk his large amounts of money for the betterment of your common patrons who may not pay as much money or tip as well. D. Lead him to your cute servers. Underneath that tough skin of his is a man waiting to be swooned by adorable girls that may make his heart skip a beat. If you can make him fall in love with your servers, you can easily clean him of his money and essentially pitch any sort of sale to him later on in the evening. Your choices have a major impact on what may happen each round, so choose wisely! Interested? I always find it intriguing that people post guides on how to learn a language. I understand that it is very useful, but as a teacher who has viewed hundreds of lectures on teaching pedagogy and methods, I always find user guides to be very focused on one style of learning. In this specific example, I'm referring to Japanese. While I understand that self-study is a great tool for some learners, a lot of the guides I have read don't seem to take into account the other styles (visual, aural, kinesthetic). These are great guides for adult learners who care about self-study, but I want to see more variety. Not only that, but all of the guides I read are for how to actually read the language. When it comes to actual language learning, the 4 core skills are extremely important and can really help in assisting in other parts when learning a new language. I also find it interesting that Japanese learners really try to learn how to speak English, while Japanese learners who enjoy otaku related material only care to read it. It's a completely different style. TLDR: Language is awesome, and being a teacher for the past 4 years has really made me appreciate the different styles of learning, not only based on background and culture, but also personality. I hope more people post guides on how to learn Japanese without, for example, Tae Kim and intense grammar study and memorization. I don't believe visual novels, manga, and anime should be the only tools people use to learn a language.

It's in regards to promoting an upcoming game; you of all people know how I function. Creating the content has been taking me a lot of time and requires a lot of work, but I still wanted to post what I had because I was excited. Thanks for ruining the magic.

Just a quick poll. I texted Mephisto and asked if he wanted to start playing a visual novel. He said he'd play Baldr Sky, so I just wanted to see if anyone would actually be interested in watching streams/recordings we put up like in the old days when we did a full playthrough of Cocoro@Function! Just be honest, otherwise we'll just play it without recordings or streams on our own time.
