Show By Post! A Musical Band Creation Activity
Mr Poltroon replied to OriginalRen's topic in Members' Lounge
My team is now set in place, chaps. Look in wonder and awe! Mighty Overlord Tiagofvarela Who will have the intellectually pressuring job of making terrible attempts at thinking up witty stuff to say. Basically, the hardest job here. Self Proclaimed Piano Master Ryechu Except he didn't actually proclaim anything; It's implied he foolishly thinks he's awesome though. Divine Voice Of Angelic Liquid Gold Suikashoujo We've been keeping her as a pet nightingale, but she only eats praise, it seems. Rainy Disciple of Pianism Rainsismyfav Pianism a new religion we're founding. It involves being terrible at piano but stubbornly insisting on bettering oneself. Cyrllej the Filler Ocarinist Random internet websites say that word exists. -
Show By Post! A Musical Band Creation Activity
Mr Poltroon replied to OriginalRen's topic in Members' Lounge
Hohoho, it's been a while since I partook in such activities. Anyone need a sassy bastard for a team? -
Of course it does, I'd bet the post was made around April 8th. I'll go look for it as well. EDIT: After looking for a bit, I can now confirm my first post wasn't with you, but my first discussion was. Here's my first post: http://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/4104-umineko-is-bad-compare-to-higurashino-spolier-please/#entry88835 I'm an all important member of staff, of course. Who else? I'm also a generally annoying guy. I'm so disappointed in you. Mine was one of the more active intro threads as well! How dare you! Only when everyone else has this intrinsic need to turn the TV on, mind you. Well, guess I'm worthless now... congrats on 2000-hours-of-your-life-wasted! Stop badgering the witness, if you would. It's a fact your name isn't on the list, interrogating him over it won't change anything. And they weren't quote 2000 hours, I swear, I take slightly under an hour to write a post. Indeed, old bean. A jolly chap has to always make sure to talk properly, I say! I'm disappointed in you... Stealing from others... *erases name* I wonder which? Intro post, chatter threads, hmm... Also, I assume you didn't notice but you somehow managed to accidentally misspell Tiago, F, and Varela. My descriptions are all accurate, of course. Thousands of euros were spent to research those. @Maef: And that's what I produce during my incredibly productive all expense payed thinking sessions. What would I do without one of these. Also, were these terms drafted in Australia? Both America and a good deal of Europe should still be in May 13th.

Unlimited Chat Works - Random Talk
Mr Poltroon replied to allpukmaster's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
Foxtail...? Oh yeah, those things that get stuck everywhere on my clothes whenever I step outside. I get you. I need to start checking my dog's ears as well then. -
Indeed, I am here to make you suffer and you best expect some real torture. I am Tiago, Tiago F Varela. I am a Portuguese Anglophiliac Gentleman and I'm not actually called Tiago F. Varela, though I know someone who goes by said name. No, that is not meant to be a super revelation, to name myself by another persons name is a decision I kind of came to regret but I've got consent, so I suppose that is good enough. I had originally intended to have this be a very long post, as you can probably notice from the title, but no such thing, I've got nothing special to tell you chaps and there's probably nothing you really want to know either. If you're really interested in my life story you can check this thread: http://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/7666-tiagos-holiday-message-and-pretty-much-entire-life-history/ Besides my life story, the other thing I can mention is my experience on Fuwanovel. So lets go do that, a la Eclipsed: I joined Fuwanovel March of last year, though I think I found the forums around December of the previous. What did I during these few months consisted of reading every single post on the forums. Except the Love Live Thread, can't recall when that appeared but I always kept away from that place. Around this time I wasn't really working and we can assume I spent my every moment on the PC. I made my first post in a thread about Remember11, and this would make Funyarinpa the first member I ever talked to. Since then, he's been one of those who I would consider 'Fuwafriends'; one of those people I feel completely free to call an idiot with no remorse at all. Sometime after this I decided to make an introduction thread; from there, various members entered my head as people I noted throughout the forums. Examples are Nosebleed, who had an avatar of a loli with some kind of aeroplane fighter cap and that one I really liked, and other people like Maefdomn, Okami, Tom... And especially Aniki. This is the person who really got me into Fuwanovel with the Games and Chatter games. Beyond this, I became a member who occasionally posted only with the intent of making a point while mocking people, trying not to be taken seriously and banter around. I more or less succeeded and became know as a sarcastic grumpy man by some members. Since then I've softened up, admittedly, and I'd mainly blame it on: Becoming a Board Mod This was the first major change I had in Fuwanovel, I became a board mod (probably though some kind of random lottery) and used up all of my time meant to make witty posts and reading every single thread, instead spamming the staff forums and working on ideas and making stuff happen. It can be said I used up a lot of hours writing and thinking here. And this lead to some problems in real life when I came back to work. Around the beginning of the year I became a Global Mod and started to work on renovating a lot of the DevBoards. Once I finished that I pretty much disappeared into oblivion. I changed jobs, so I'm technically no longer a mod, and far as staff is concerned I did nothing until the end of last week, when things may or may not be starting up again... *hype hype* I don't know if you noticed, but over the course of this post I've been distracted by the TV next to me and I've written about a sentence an hour, with my trains of thought being cut off all the time. I humbly apologize for the scummy post thus far. Either way chaps, this is what I really wanted to do, thank everybody who has been my 'friend', admired idols or lovable idiots alike. List of my Rabid Fans (and people who I somewhat don't dislike too much tsun tsun): My condolences if you weren't mentioned. I guess you're worthless now. You better commit suicide to compensate for your sin of living. Either that or ignore my nonsense. And here you go. This will be everything for now, I'm tired of writing this, I've noticed I really don't have any memories unless I go look through my old posts but I won't bother with that so you get nada, zilch, niente and as I'd say in Portuguese, nicles.

Has your enjoyment from gaming remained the same throughout the years?
Mr Poltroon replied to Nayleen's topic in Gaming Talk
This is true... I used to play so much Sims and Total War games some years back. Nowadays I can hardly do it for more than a few hours when in the past I'd spend days on end hooked to these. -
Prepare thyself, Tiago's Golden Age is yet to come.

How does one feel "integrated" online?
Mr Poltroon replied to InvictusCobra's topic in General Discussion
Pretty much what you said, yeah. I partake on other forums as well, and I can say that this is the only one I feel integrated in. -
How Global is Fuwa (What country do you actually reside in?)
Mr Poltroon replied to Zalor's topic in Members' Lounge
And here you wanted to get all morbid with "The times of death are coming soon. How I miss muh torrents~" I imagine... -
Surprisingly enough, I can't think of any protagonist I've ever disliked. The closest would probably be but even then, I haven't finished the visual novel (hardly even started, Chapter 1 still). And it's not like I hate him, I just don't like him. More or less agreed though. Anywhere outside of bed and he's my favourite. Unfortunately, the latter part of the routes are spent there... (And Majikoi S, dammit, it's mostly just this, tsk) Agreed. Maybe it's because I kinda see things his way, but people call him uncompassionate and a jerk, but I never honestly thought that at all. Most of the time I find myself agreeing with his sound logic.

How/Where do you Recruit for TL/OELVN Projects?
Mr Poltroon replied to Mr Poltroon's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
Indeed, and if everyone spent their time learning Japanese instead of bugging TL Projects then there'd be no need for them in the first place. -
How/Where do you Recruit for TL/OELVN Projects?
Mr Poltroon replied to Mr Poltroon's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
Mostly because you can't, I'd wager. -
When you start a Project, be it a translation or an OELVN, you first need to find some members. Very rarely does a Project get off the ground without some members before its start. This said, and this is addressed mainly at current project leads or knowledgeable members: Where/How would you look for different kind of people for a Project? Artists, Writers, Editors, Translators, and whatever you can think of. If you've done it before, how did you do it, if you haven't, how would you do it?

How Global is Fuwa (What country do you actually reside in?)
Mr Poltroon replied to Zalor's topic in Members' Lounge
What a cynical, skeptical person you are. Can't you just take things for granted and be satisfied with it?! Can you not choose to believe the illusion? I bet you're one of those bastards that chooses 'trick' as Umineko's ending. Bah, not talking to your despicable self again. FYI, I personally chose 'trick'. Note: If you haven't played Umineko then you have no idea about what I'm talking about and is therefore not spoilers. -
I've played the demo, given how I've also played the Sunrider: The Mask of Arcadus I'm really interested in this. From what I saw of the demo, assuming there are loads more events throughout the year, I'll probably like it a lot.

Angel Beats! Translation?
Mr Poltroon replied to Heizei_koukousei's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
Hype is done before release. Judging quality is done after. I can easily finish an anime or VN which I've hyped in a day or two, but stuff recommended to me as "a masterpiece" but that I don't think will be that great can be much harder to enjoy. Basically, hype's a really good seasoning. Though it can also ruin your experience if the VN is genuinely bad. -
Valve Allows Developers to Wield the Banhammer Against Trolls
Mr Poltroon replied to Nosebleed's topic in Gaming Talk
Then they go out of business, no? These dealers work for the consumer most of the time. By making outrageous terms and getting people to leave in mass they doom themselves. Unfortunately, getting people to leave in mass doesn't quite work. The damn mindless sheep couldn't care less. -

Which is why you'd choose different gun dealers if you like to go shoot squirrels on Thursdays. -
OELVN Project Violet Hill (DEMO released)
Mr Poltroon replied to Helvetica Standard's topic in Original Projects
Indeed. I'm just telling them, since they're getting their hands messy anyway, my opinion on the current writing. -
Angel Beats! Translation?
Mr Poltroon replied to Heizei_koukousei's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
He says about the yet to be released VN. -
Before attempting to spell it out for you, take a look at a walkthrough: http://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/706-fatestay-night/ If you don't want to, just know that you'll always get Fate ending on your first run, you can get into Unlimited Blade Works after, by focusing on a different heroine, and only finally can you get into Heaven's Feel, again, by pressing a few flags. ...I think that's how it was anyways.

The Decline of Reading in Relation to VNs
Mr Poltroon replied to Heizei_koukousei's topic in Visual Novel Talk
You aren't an anomaly, I don't think. But you have to admit, when you talk about teens not reading, H-Scenes is certainly a point to bring up, no? -
People generally come to this conclusion in Michiru's route... I never really understood why. He was being incredibly stupid about the whole thing, yeah, but... I dunno, I guess it didn't strike me as being a jerk.
