So I've been playing Fureraba for the whole day, and I have to say I really like it. Since I like it so much, I'm going to walk through the first few hours. Only real spoilers it might included would be for the first hour. Otherwise, just an endless torrent of funny scenes. And that's it for the scenes before we start getting choices. Next time, probably screenshots of a route, and those will contain spoilers for the route.

The font you see in my post is the default font, in case anybody is misunderstanding something.

Turns out Fureraba isn't really a VN, since the protagonist lives with his mother:

Yeah. Doodler chose that font, by the looks of things. The default font is a bit different. The issue here is that the engine doesn't seem to want to render the fonts Doodler wants properly.

Very terribly and poorly translated sound better to you? The translation may have been really bad at points, but it can be understood outside Ageha's route (which was not only poorly translated, it was also rewritten to remove segments. By somebody who doesn't know how to write English). Machine translation cannot be understood. As I recall, Amane's route and the twins were easier to understand than anything else on the VN. Pure machine translation it is not, but maybe it was edited from there at points? I still doubt it. I assume you simply lack experience with translations made by people who don't know English, if you think Edelweiss is nearing the bottom of the barrel. It isn't even close.

The IMHHW translation was of poor quality, but not MTL. A lot of it could be understood, even. I assume it was tackled by multiple translators, and only some had no idea what English was.

I will continue to dream. If all goes well, I'll still be here in ten years, so I might see this dream come true.

There is an interest in that I exist, but how big that interest is is another story.

I'm just hoping that the translation is great because it's a simpler wish than hoping it fails with the ultimate objective of them eventually doing better some day.

Beating Netojuu no Susume, Girls' Last Tour: Also happens to be my favourite ending. I don't like maid Dragon's much.

I would agree, were Kaguya among the dead. As he isn't despite appearing to have died within the story...

Finally a portrayal of myself I can actually enjoy. Terrifically done. You are deserving of all the praise. Also, I have cause to doubt I am both dead and alive. Good job, survivors. Please continue to endeavour in living. All others, my condolences.

Lies and libel. I played through Chizuru's route. It was terrible, filled with misunderstandings and the most stubborn annoying character I have seen in a long time, but I played through it and do not hate the game.

I very much like gameplay elements in my VNs... but I would prefer for them to be skippable, since most VNs with gameplay also require replaying. I imagine they think that's the point, 'Let's make them replay since we have all this wonderful gameplay', but once is quite enough for me to enjoy the link between the story and the gameplay. I also like easy gameplay, because I suck at games. Otherwise, I will almost always end up cheating. Though I only cheat to make the gameplay easier, not quite to insta-win.

There are studies indicating spoilers make people enjoy things better. While this is no exact science, clearly this shows that this is but a carefully thought out marketing decision.

Thank goodness. Staying away from those spoilers.
