Cute Demon Crashers (free nukige[?] review)
Mr Poltroon commented on Plk_Lesiak's blog entry in EVN Chronicles
Excellent. I did think this one was thoroughly stellar. -
I love Gugure Kokkuri-san to bits. It's my kind of humour. Deadpan delivery to the max.

I alternate between male and female characters. It seems to be more or less random, with a tendency to be different from whichever I used previously. I unwaveringly go for female (or agender) love interests unless limited to male, though.

Read this ages ago. So far as I recall, one of the best pure fluff I've read. -

Harem anime with romantic harem ending
Mr Poltroon replied to Dergonu's topic in Anime/Manga Recommendations
I can appreciate how very much the show doesn't give a damn about anything. Every scene seems to be 5 seconds long. But even if I can appreciate and laugh at a lot of things, scenes like that one that badly parodies detective stories are so poorly made I can't watch them. I made if for four episodes. -
Clockwork Leyline and Hoshimemo: What actually happened!
Mr Poltroon replied to -soraa's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Their QA team went over the script once it was finished. Turned out the engine was prone to crashing. After the QA pass was finished, they 'fixed' the engine and re-inserted the scripts. After that, they checked the instances where the engine was previously crashing. Excellent. Doesn't crash any more. Ship it. What is particularly 'lazy' about this? Were they supposed to pay their QA team to check the whole thing over again after fixing the engine? Maybe this is bad planning. Maybe QA should have only occurred once work on the engine was finished. Maybe they should have predicted changing the engine would have introduced new issues. Sekai Project's problem is not greed or laziness. It's incompetence. Lack of experience. Disjointed groups of people working for them. Some know what they're doing. Others are basically scamming SP. -

Whatever makes you believe that they will sell their fixes? That is absolutely bonkers, and certainly would not fly. -

I shall partake in this one as well. I will confidentially share my personality with you. Though it would be, in essence, my own. You know me, yes? My weapon of choice is a cane. -
SolPress released a demo. That settled people's opinions, whether good or bad. NekoNyan has no such thing, which is why all remain eagerly awaiting.

Thank yo for yor sggestion. Shortly after it, I did indeed do so, and, teporarily, the isse vanished. Sadly, it has since retrned. Cold yo tell? Rest assred I a dly pressing all keys. It's the keyboard which fails e. What do you even consider to be a 'great' protagonist? The protagonist from Cinderella Phenomenon is likely the closest thing to a genuine (classic) tsundere I have ever seen. Reading her inner thoughts is sad, interesting, and maddening, all simultaneously. Yuna from Kindred Spirits is so cool! Never have I found a 'girl' to be so cool. The best part is that she feels genuine. It's not an exaggerated trope. She doesn't have the ability to do anything and everything. But she thinks things through and looks so cool while doing it. Is 'cool' devoid of meaning yet? I will advocate for The Second Reproduction till my last breath, even if I have since forgotten the main character's personality. I know she's a fighter and whatnot, but how proactive was she, really? ...I think these are the standouts, though highway blossoms has great female leads as well. Edit: Why the hell did I write 'girl' between quotes up there?

The future of different western eroge publishers
Mr Poltroon replied to bakauchuujin's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Orrrrr it may be entirely coincidental. Translating and releasing things on your own is a much better deal than relying on publishers. Every cent goes to Frontwing now! If anything were to truly be the cause of this 'cutting of ties', as you put it, I'd attribute it to translation speed more than anything. Frontwing bought up another English translation for Idol Michiru Whatever while Sekai Project was still translating the trilogy, and given that the translator for the trilogy, Koestl, is generally considered an excellent translator, some people were mad at Frontwing because they used an allegedly inferior translation from someone else for the Idol spin-off. It was after this that Frontwing got a TL team of their own and started releasing the Grisaia spin-offs by themselves, and then transitioned to translating their own backlog of titles as well as producing new ones dual-language. Perhaps their dealings led them to having the opportunity to contract some translators and they decided it was a better long-term investment. -
I am voting for Yuuji, with honourable mentions to Battler, Kenichi, and Tomoya. Okabe is gut-bustingly hilarious, and he would be my favourite if the anime English dub version counted.

The future of different western eroge publishers
Mr Poltroon replied to bakauchuujin's topic in Visual Novel Talk
This jogs my memories. It used to be that instead of Steam patches, SP simply released a steam version, at a reduced price, and an adult version, at a normal price.* Imouto Works was taking the adult versions Denpasoft released and creating free patches to apply to the steam version. This would theoretically steal sales from Sekai's adult version, beyond being pretty illegal. From there on Denpasoft started releasing actual paid patches, which is what I believe the blog is referring to. *The topic of pricing is debatable. As you can see, Sanahtlig himself did not seem to perceive the pricing as fair, as well as many other people. -

With the caveat that I do not remember the exact details either, I do believe you've got the order wrong. This 'Imouto Works' group was releasing 18+ free patches for products to which Sekai Project had paid 18+ DLC. Sekai Project did not start providing 18+ DLC after this; they were already doing so by this point. I think. And... I'll refrain from commenting on the pricing.
