Hmm... The term 'waifu' is not usually one I employ, but I do suppose this is anything but a usual day. Let's see... Here's one for best couple: And here's one for best girl: Here's Fuwa's best girl: And here's best gender-bent girl: Hm. I think my male:female ratio of pictures is 6:1 or something. I guess finding good male characters is such a noteworthy thing I take a picture every time?

I don't actually give 10/10 to VNs easily... Because VNDB's warning keeps telling me not to. My most recent favourite game might be Wagamama High Spec. But it was already reviewed, even. And I don't play enough VNs at the moment to keep up with the latest releases.

Looking into it, it's probably fine-ish if I use their 'gift' system. Which I did. And since they say I can gift the keys to my friends or family... Everybody's my friend! How do you do, friend?
-
I was going to do so, yes, which is when I noticed they were broken and don't actually work. Guess I'm not doing anything illegal after all! Speaking of which, Why do you think so, and why would it be?

Does seem to be the case. Can't link them, it appears. Very well. All who want any of the listed games are free to PM me. I'd say it's first come first serve basis, but I'd be lying. If I have a key and two people ask me for it, I'mma start playing favourites. Doubt the keys will be popular enough for that to happen, though. I've lucked out. All stuff I've been meaning to buy. I've got a few repeats, however. I do like Sunrider. It's super duper weeb, though. Sheesh. Might as well go 'Give me free stuff, peasants!'. Incidentally, I might have some of which you desire here.

I've always been quite blessed with my computer. Usually, I have no issues whatsoever. However, there are surely a lot of people who do have problems, going by what I read out there. I'm sure there's some interesting stories or some interesting questions the more tech-savvy among us (read: not me) might shed light on. The thread can always die if nobody's got anything interesting to say.

How do you capitalise letters while using a computer?

Can you explain how you could have possibly misunderstood? What about the first post was so different from the poll? -
How do you capitalise letters while using a computer?

By abusing my powers, the poll is open once more for new, interested voters. -
Hm. I did forget about sisters. I like the existence of the character, but I do not like romances with them. I'd much prefer if they simply remained family as they were. Often means I end up not playing the route. Ironically, the one time I wanted to learn more about the sister character she didn't have a route. Thank you, Yume Miru Kusuri. Incidentally, where are all the older sisters? Are there not any actual older sisters in VNs? I seem to recall that type of 'personality', but not actual sisterhood.

The archetype is irrelevant and any good personality can overcome the constraints put into place by the archetype. But a lot of heroines have weak personalties or personalities specifically designed so they'd generate conflict romancing the protagonist due to their archetype. Perhaps the tomboy-ish childhood friend who tries to give up their love for some odd reason is the most irritating to me. More assertive childhood friends are absolutely fine. There are some other combinations of archetypes and personalties that spite me, but I can't recall any at the moment.

Chihayafuru commits the cardinal sin of the sports anime which is never letting go. Sports anime rely on the cliffhanger factor too much, and this annoys me to no end. If it's done occasionally I won't mind, but sports mind do it almost every episode after a while. I watched the whole bloody thing in a couple of days, and while I don't mind being forced to watch something too much, it still makes me uncomfortable. Ryuo seems to be a shorter anime so I'm sure they won't pull that card too much, if only because they don't have time to do so. The other Shougi anime I watched was also a self-contained story that didn't seem infinite like Chihayafuru (or Ryuo, I suppose). The number one factor that kills an anime for me is things seeming like they'll take too long. I didn't finish Hunter x Hunter because of this. I didn't finish Chihayafuru's second season because of this. I still don't know why I started Inuyasha. I still fear Arslan Senki won't have an actual conclusion. I believe this is a result of the binge+expectations combination. I have a tendency to binge anime, but when doing so does not produce tangible results quickly enough my experience is irreversibly soured. 13 episode anime (even if incomplete stories), or episodic anime generally manage to escape this trap. Episodic anime with reliance on a greater plot, like basically every shounen are absolute no's. As for the ones that I manage to like even when they have these failings, I consider those to be the ones I truly do enjoy even without getting hooked on the story.

The future of different western eroge publishers
Mr Poltroon replied to bakauchuujin's topic in Visual Novel Talk
You're saying that they should have postponed any US release until they figured out a solution for the other regions? -
You know, whilst this thread initially brought to mind to people running into me in the midst of an H-Scene, that is likely not the worst situation. When I'm particularly excited reading a VN I act like an absolute madman. I often read the characters' lines aloud, shout, make up new ones, react to them, etcetera. This, unfortunately, is quite audible in my younger sister's room, so she's the person most subjected to my lunacy. My parents occasionally walk by the corridor near my room, and should they catch me in the middle of a fit they sometimes even interrupt to ask me what the bloody hell I'm doing.

Do You Read All The 'Readme's?

Hm. I only read the physical ones. -
Do You Read All The 'Readme's?
Mr Poltroon replied to Mr Poltroon's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
Well, reading it because I ran into an issue is another matter entirely. In such an occasion I will go out of my way. I'm rather speaking of just reading them by default before running the thing. Who knows how many secrets may be hidden in the readme? Usually not many. -
Do You Read All The 'Readme's?
Mr Poltroon replied to Mr Poltroon's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
To 'read' a readme basically consists of opening it and reading all relevant parts. It's obvious one won't be able to read readmes in other languages and that sections such as the credits are often irrelevant. -
Just finished catching up with Death March and I can say I really like it. The way he goes around just secretly solving problems is pretty nice, and the fifth episode was somewhat surprising with the princess. Poker face skill is best skill and I love the way the in-game titles often seem to be making fun of him. I also like the fact that the anime recognises there's an unreasonable amount of skills and titles for every little thing. Also tried out Takunomi. Not exactly bad, but focuses too much on drink and food, neither of which I care for in anime (unless it's Black Butler).
