  1. Finished Fahrenheit 451 last night. I give it a 7/10, I kind of liked how abstract it felt but it just isn't too enjoyable overall.
  2. I'm getting a small Danganronpa vibe from this I'm mildly interested, if it is ever released in English. (p.s. JP games never really take this sort of stuff seriously anyway)
  3. I guess you'll be working around the clock to make this project a reality... ...I'll show myself out now.
  4. I just finished Fahrenheit 451. The most interesting fact about the book is that, according to my copy's afterword, Fahrenheit 451 was initially published on the very first issues (issues 2,3 and 4) of Playboy. EDIT Apparently; Arthur C. Clarke, Roald Dahl, Haruki Murakami and a few other famous writers also have stories that were published on Playboy...
  5. For future reference: I created another thread which was then merged into this one. Anyway, I'm now more resolute on buying Brave New World instead of Foundation & Empire, as the school librarian recommended me that I read BNW first.
  6. I cannot decide to pick whether Foundation & Empire or Brave New World when I go to the bookstore the next time. I guess I'll go with F&E. Chaos Walking was incredible. I read the first book (The Knife Of Never Letting Go) in a single night where I could not sleep and the experience had shaken me in a way that I never thought it, or any book for that matter, would. From the beginning I expected it to be lame but that novel was one bizarre roller coaster ride of feels.
  7. Started Fahrenheit 451. Even though it felt abstract and had a tough language, I found myself easily toppling the first third of the novel. So far, it appears to be much deeper than Orwell's works (1984 and Animal Farm) in that rather than the focus being the dystopia and how it works, it feels more like it is about the protagonist's inner fighting with his self, as a person who was shaped by the said dystopia. The novel doesn't make dystopia the focus, but rather, even more so than the setting, it is the prime element that has shaped the protagonist, and the book is a study on how that affects the protagonist's mind.
  8. I see, thanks
  9. I wonder what Fuwa is reading nowadays. What are you reading right now? What's your favorite genre? Favorite book? The next book you plan on getting? Personally, I've started reading sci-fi, and I'm beginning with the classics. (I've posted a list of the books I have right now to read below.) I just recently (as in a few hours ago) finished Isaac Asimov's Foundation. It felt more like politics than sci-fi, but I found myself liking it nonetheless. Overall, I'd give it an 8/10 and the next book looks far more promising, it's called Foundation And Empire. My favorite sci-fi book so far is Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, it probably has the funniest writing of all the books I've ever read. My favorite book overall is The Hunger Games, I read it when I was in 6th grade and it blew my mind. Looking back on it though, it isn't as great to a high schooler me than it was to the sixth grader me. I've been on a book-buying spree for the last few weeks, and I've bought a book pretty much whenever I could. The ones I have to read and are in my possession: Fahrenheit 451 (Ray Bradbury) Tau Zero (Poul Anderson) Ringworld (Larry Niven) Timescape (Gregory Benford) Hyperion (Dan Simmons) The Hobbit (J.R.R. Tolkien) The Silmarillion (J.R.R. Tolkien) (also a few young adult fiction novels) The ones I play on buying as soon as I can: Dune (Frank Herbert) Childhood's End (Arthur C. Clarke) Brave New World (Aldous Huxley) 2001: A Space Odyssey (Arthut C. Clarke) Foundation And Empire (Isaac Asimov) The ones I plan to buy later on: Second Foundation (Isaac Asimov) Of Mice And Men (John Steinbeck) The Caves Of Steel (Isaac Asimov) The End Of Eternity (Isaac Asimov) The City And The Stars (Arthur C. Clarke) The First Men In The Moon (H. G. Wells) Some books I'm not sure I can find in Turkey: Mostly Harmless (Douglas Adams) The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress (Robert A. Heinlein) 2001: A Space Odyssey (mentioned above) Flowers To Algernon (Daniel Keyes)
  10. If it is on PC do not bother. Buy a few dozen indies, or something.
  11. Granted, you get nothing except your wish being granted on an online forum I wish I could play horror games without freaking out
  12. Torrented Alien Isolation. Was significantly creeped out even before the Alien's first appearance and closed the game in under an hour. I'm too young for this shit.
  13. I do not know much about the PSP. However, for the love of the metaphysical omnipotent entity you believe in, if any, play Danganronpa 1 and 2 for the Vita. Also play 999 and Virtue's Last Reward. VLR is available for Vita but you will need a DS (or a DS emulator) to play 999, and you must play 999 first.
  14. I want to join but since I probably have around a few million unread messages Skype crashes every time I try to open the chat
  15. Of course a fucking EA game had to crash again. Changed the settings, and BAM, the game crashes after 20 mins of playing. I won't uninstall Dead Space, but lost my mood for today.
  16. I buy whichever handheld console VN's I can, however, that limits me quite amply since there's no place that sells VN's in Turkey (and I cannot import, my dad does not let me use his card anymore, but I do have a prepaid card of sorts with which I'll try to import once I've gotten my hands on a Vita)
  17. Let's just say because of a year where I had to study but didn't and a physics exam which I might fail, I deleted all my Steam games. I only have Dead Space and Mass Effect left (on Origin), as well as a bunch of VN's. "Fun" is (was supposed to be but I can always keep myself busy) on indefinite hiatus until I get my shit together.
  18. It might also be something about being unable to buy the games in question, rather than deciding not to.
  19. The internet never stops surprising me... As for the VN, I'm between laughing my ass off and screaming in terror.
  20. I've bought... three. Ace Attorney Dual Destinies (if you count it) Virtue's Last Reward (my favorite game, period) Exogenesis: Perils Of Rebirth I should've bought Steins; Gate sometime...
  21. I don't like open world games all that much, the only exception so far seems to be Mass Effect which is alright. That consequently means 90% of mainstream (Western) games do not appeal to me at all.
  22. Finished AA Dual Destinies' DLC episode. There were quite a few good twists towards the end. However, it wasn't all that good overall. The history exam tomorrow never bothered me anyway
