The worst thing about Rebirth is that Cain has been nerfed incredibly... He now has 2 damage like Isaac and Lucky Foot no longer has an effect on the pills you find. However, you can fire Brimstone pretty much twice as fast, so there's that.

BoI Rebirth is pretty good so far. The most disappointing thing is the character nerfs: Cain's luck now doesn't keep you from getting shitty pills (which was its best feature anyway) and his DMG is now the same as Isaac. That means my favorite character now ISN'T my favorite character, and we'll see how Judas holds up. Please don't tell me they nerfed Book Of Shadows...

I'd say we just ban linking to licensed VN's all together, but that'd make me a hypocrite: I've downloaded quite a few localized VN's. Not proud of it. What about this: At first, we put a long temporary ban on posting links of localized VN's: Something like 6 months after the date of release. That way, those that want to pirate will pirate anyway, but it would not hurt the sales as much. (Overall, it'd probably be better to ban them outright in the long run; however, I cannot really support that since I've benefited from those links before.)

All these ME1 bugs are worrying me... I have a 26-hour playtime right now and I save rarely. Nothing happened yet, but I should probably be more careful now on. Edit: I have a disc version(connected to Origin) patched to the most recent build, I think it is 1.2. Hopefully I won't encounter it, but it seems people still can get it with the patch, so I'll need to be more careful from now on. Well, it's a PC game published by EA. What was I even expecting?..

If it will ease your pain, I'd say Muv Luv is quite overrated. On top of that, playing Muv Luv Extra, especially in the first few hours, is a huge pain. If you can get it running in the first place. As for positive change, you'd have to look for something lighthearted and it appears that except for romance VN's, it's a rare thing for a critically acclaimed VN to both feature a change in the protagonist and be lighthearted.

Coincidentally, I am also playing Mass Effect 1. For the last few days though, I've focused on replaying Portal 2 and even though it's my favorite PC game, I am still learning many new things. (PORTAL 2 SPOILERS)(i.e. Besides that, I occasionally play Binding Of Isaac and sometimes CS Global Offensive. Binding Of Isaac Rebirth is coming out on the 4th, so I'll probably play that a little before my exam week starts on the 6th. (Mass Effect 1 Spoilers... I guess)

Umineko if you want your brains to be killed in a closed room murder with a witch being the primary suspect. Its prequel Higurashi also works too, to my knowledge. However, I have not read that yet. If you liked Danganronpa, you'd like 999 for the DS. Emulate it on your computer if you have to, that VN is a masterpiece. Its sequel Virtue's Last Reward is my favorite game of all time. Some eroge MC's have brilliant tactics to get laid, for example Mamankyoushitsu's protagonist convinces 5 heroines at once that men have to have a certificate to have sex with (pregnant) women, which all men must keep a secret from the whole womankind; and that he himself has his certificate. Then the game enters the harem route.

I'd take 12Riven over KQ any day. Nice to see they're going on with that. Those guys (Lemnisca I think) translate some great VN's.
