  1. My mom and I have been living with her to help each other out financially. Well, my aunt has been far from generous on her end and we're getting ready to leave. I hope so too, but I'm still wracking my brain over how this is gonna work out. My mom was aiming to move by August, but there's no way in hell we could make that work. Thankfully my grandma talked her out of it (which is a good thing since she never listens to me), but it'll still be a challenge even if we hold off. There's a bit of a rant here:
  2. Confession: I'm probably gonna lose internet sometime around August. My mom got in another fight with my aunt, and my aunt is gonna cancel her service once the contract expires. I probably won't be around until September or October. Unfortunately, I'm not gonna be able to get the service myself until I move out.
  3. I don't even have good or bad dreams anymore. Every night I dream something very weird. It happens so much that I don't even remember what they are. I think the last good dream I had was in middle school (or early high school).
  4. Well, geez, if it only took a couple sentences in the LN, then it would've only been like half a minute in the anime. But you're right, there are probably very few people that would've noticed it anyways, lol.
  5. The gaming world just lost a very powerful figure. I'll never forget how much fun I had playing games on my old NES as a kid. ;_;
  6. Ugh, I tried watching Dandelion, but the 1st episode was painfully draggy for me. The way the competition was set up to introduce the family's powers felt like a standard show and tell, which is aggravating when you consider that this is suppose to be a competition. One girl shows her powers while the others just stand there, then the next person comes up, and finally the last one shows off her abilities and then it looks like they're actually competing with each other. Characters seem pretty cut/paste from their usual archetypes. The character designs are cute, but that's about it. I like moe as much as the next guy, but I can't sit through an anime that only has that as a redeeming feature. I'm kinda surprised it turned out this poorly with the director of Bakuman working on this. Idk, I guess he really doesn't care about this project. Oh well, gonna give Akagami no Shirayuki-hime a try now. This one seems very promising, and done by Bones, so hopefully it delivers.
  7. Hestia got away with using her powers in a dungeon the same way drug dealers get away with illegal transactions. You only get punished if you get caught. Didn't look like anyone was interested in turning her in, so I can't call it a plot hole. The only plot hole I can really think of is the reason crystals are bought from adventurers. The anime never explains the use of those crystals, so my worst assumed scenario is that people are buying them to just throw money away to encourage adventurers to do really cool things. But that only has a very minor impact on my opinion since the anime doesn't particularly shine for its plot. Eh, I don't think the lack of focus between those two was a bad thing. It's not like it wasted a lot of time doing pointless stuff (it did a little, but not much). Also, it was only 13 episodes. There's a chance it'll be fleshed out later on if given the proper coverage.
  8. I love this song so much! <3
  9. Yeah, the foreshadowing is a little scary on that one.
  10. I'm starting to get really like Nao, her personality is too much fun. That scene with the thoughtography guy was great, lol. :3
  11. That reminds me of a certain person I came across who claimed that it was literally impossible to have a serious conversation about SAO with someone who didn't think it was shit. I couldn't help but think of him as an ignorant tool. I get it, the fact that SAO is flawed as about as obvious as the fact that the sky is blue, but that doesn't mean it can't be good watch. SAO getting mindlessly bashed on a regular basis is one of the bigger reasons I left MAL forums (there was a mountain of other reasons I left too).
  12. I can see what you mean. But fortunately, with the new interface and XP bonuses they've been doing lately, it's actually not as tedious to use skills like fletching anymore. I'm not sure how long ago you played, but all you have to do to fletch bows anymore is press a single key, and you can even quick-bank with 2 other keys (I have both actions macro'd for controller use lol). And then there's the occasional double XP weekend which makes it less annoying to level grindy skills up. You can also play mini games like God Statues, Troll Invasion, etc. that award bulk XP once every so often. With the changes made in combat, it's pretty easy to make a profit from killing bosses and slayer tasks.
  13. Oh yeah, G-senjou OSTs are very nice indeed. It's rare for me to appreciate non-vocal stuff, but Complications takes the cake for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22PhkOfTTWY
  14. Finished Masturbation Master Kurosawa. If I were to see this title at a glance, I would have considered it to be something of a joke aimed at 4channers, but it did turn out to be very mature (a lot more than I thought it would be). I normally don't have much care for realistic characters, but this time it was interesting to see how the protagonist develops because of his deeply imbedded psychological issues. That and how the base of this story is written as a parody of Death Note made things pretty entertaining, lol. I had heard a lot of great things about this from one of my friends, and while I was sorta hesitant to read it, I found that this story does live up to its praise. The character development was completely spot on, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this manga.
  15. Yeah, I'd say your classes are a rare exception to how Japanese is normally taught in schools. Most of the people I know who did take those classes claim that they're mediocre compared to individual study.
  16. I did kinda like it, just not enough to have an impression of it. It was one of the easier side routes to read, but nothing particularly stood out to me.
  17. This time my desktop BG is from pixiv.
  18. I'm actually not so sure about that. There's been numerous claims that Japanese isn't taught that well in western universities. I hear that they even start teaching you words before touching grammar (which is not a good idea). There might be some exceptions (I'd hate to think all universities are bad), but it seems like online resources would be your best bet for learning the language.
  19. After reading Moro's, Gakuto's, and Chika's routes, I had fairly low expectations for the other side routes. I mean, they were somewhat enjoyable (except for Moro's), but nowhere near as good as the main routes. But, thankfully, Kazama's route turned out to be about as fun as the main routes. It's the only side route I've read that puts in worthwhile character development, and though it wasn't as interesting as most of the main heroine routes, it still had impact.
  20. Fantastic! I'm happy for ya, pal.
  21. I did not need to see that.
