I couldn't tell you what the holdup was in this case, maybe JAST wanted to wait until Starless was out and people saw how the patch thing actually went down before listening. But these kinds of postponements/embargos are really common in the rest of the gaming industry. I mean, they announced the interview months ago so the whole process takes time.
-
I'm guessing that interview was recorded a month or so ago. Remember when the Shiny Days announcement was posted, he said he wanted to get it out in June/July.

You could start off with Little Busters, my favorite Key title. Da Capo 1's art was a bit rough and to be honest so is its writing, DC2 is a large improvement in almost every way, and has decent art in my opinion. DC1 is skippable if you want. Ef is a solid VN that's focused heavily on the romance and had a rather large art budget for its time, there are a crapload of CGs. Hoshizora no Memoria is... decent. It's pretty well liked around here and I probably like it less than most but I still had fun with it during a couple routes.
-
Please tell me you actually intentionally sorted your list by order of title length. Anyways, your tastes actually encompasses the large majority of VNs made. Maybe there's not quite the same ratio with english-translated ones, because translators have been averse to those kinds of titles until recently. But still, you have not come close to exhausting english language titles like that. To name a few: The Da Capo series, most Key titles (although the earlier ones may not have art that's up to your standards), ef - a fairy tale of the two, and Hoshizora no Memoria. There are more, but if I dig much deeper the VNs are going to vary in quality by quite a bit.

Majikoi S Translation Project Discussion
Decay replied to Ouraibaa Hjyuraa's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
I think he's saying that he only wants to play S once the whole VN is fully translated. Also you should probably temper your expectations for Margit's route, it may not be what you're expecting (it's super short and like 80% h-scene). -
Euphoria is still very porn-heavy, it just has an actual plot to go with it. And of course, Starless is for masochists while Euphoria is for sadists.
-
Well, you could always just decide to not apply that restoration patch.

Majikoi S Translation Project Discussion
Decay replied to Ouraibaa Hjyuraa's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
You could theorize that rewriting the entire joke is MORE faithful to the original work than a direct translation if the direct translation is impossible to make humorous. As what's important to the reader in cases like these isn't word-for-word what is said, but the general meaning and feeling the original author is trying to convey. But lassie is a total no-go, sorry Dowolf. -
Starless is pretty much the femdom kamige. Too bad I'm not a femdom kind of guy.

Please stop spamming the forums about it. We get it, you want this translated, but you have to become patient and wait calmly like everyone else. -
Has your enjoyment from gaming remained the same throughout the years?
Decay replied to Nayleen's topic in Gaming Talk
I've started gaming in the '80s and... I still love games to this day. Indie games, AAA games, western games, Japanese games, I still really enjoy gaming. I started playing a lot of the NES classics like mario, zelda, mega man, etc, and moved on primarily to PC gaming in the mid '00s once I could build my own decent PCs. I still enjoy many different genres, though. Just this year I've had a lot of fun with GTAV PC, Environmental Station Alpha, Invisible Inc, Sunless Sea, Cities Skylines, Dirt: Rally, Kerbal Space Program 1.0, and Besiege to name several off the top of my head. And I could not possibly be looking forward to The Witcher 3 any more than I currently am. I dunno, after gaming for 25 years, getting started as just a small tyke, I still really enjoy it. And I will very heavily disagree with anyone who says that games are worse in general these days than they used to be. Some of the greatest games of all time have been released in just the last several years. Oh, and I also play lots and lots of Hearthstone. -

So theoretically that means the ureshino route and the shirasaki/mochizuki common route are edited but whatever the 6% extra he did after that is not. -

There's a reason why most projects go through a QC phase after editing. Mistakes can still happen. I noticed some subtly different lines from the demo translation when I played through that portion again so it got some kind of editing pass. It also introduced a typo I never noticed before. So yeah, that is why QC exists. This is also what you get when you play with unfinished translations. Also I think you misread that chart or the readme. The Tsugumi/Sayumi common route is translated and unedited, but their actual routes are untranslated. The common route is translated and edited, Kana/Ureshino common route is translated and edited, Kana route is translated and edited, Ureshino route is translated but not edited. Nothing else is translated. -
I disagree, it was a really fun route, and a good decompressor and lead-in to the really heavy final route.
-
Well, it seems like they want to. They may not be the only ones, though.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who knows that Nagi is the best girl. -

They're covered, but only the "normal" routes and not the "true" routes. I don't know exactly how the structure of the game works, but it appears that the common route is basically split into a normal common route and a true common route, and the heroines have routes in each. I don't know how different they are. -
There is no such thing as an official fan translation.
-
This thread is unnecessary and isn't actually going to make the game get translated any faster. We already have a thread to discuss this, but you already know this because you posted in it. So I also don't know why you posted this thread. You should read the most recent post there.

Not really. Most bishoujo titles have many heroines that don't fall in love with the protagonist until you go on their route and interact with them more. But even among harem titles where they are super well loved, they've usually done something to at least somewhat earn it. You can point to Ikikoi where that isn't the case, but that game is pure garbage, so...
