The characters in the epilogue are all, well, kind of annoying really.

These styles have names, NVL (novel) and ADV (adventure), for full screen and bottom of screen boxes respectively. Ideally, you use whichever format is best suited for your scenario. Some VNs will actually switch between the two, such as Grisaia no Kajitsu and G-Senjou no Maou. The idea is that NVL format is better suited to long blocks of narrative text. So Grisaia's narration-heavy flashback sequences use the NVL format. I don't mind either way, but I find it weird and unnecessary if a game uses NVL but doesn't take advantage of all the screen real estate. Like To Heart 2.

List of All VNs with English Partial Patches and Their Progress
Decay replied to Decay's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Changelog: Added Akai Ito, Kono Mama ja, Real Imouto ga Iru, Corpse Party, and Sumaga, thanks to Arrikis' help. However, Corpse Party and Sumaga will not have patches linked to, because they are licensed. If you want to read these games, buy them when they come out (Sumaga and the PC version of Corpse Party both should release this year), or flex your google-fu. Also I notably did NOT add White Album 2 IC, because it is largely machine translation and I guess I just really hate machine translations. But in case you didn't know (you probably did), there is a White Album 2 Introductory Chapter patch out there. And it sucks. -

Added Sonicomi and Your Diary link (thanks to Arrakis again for the link!). Still looking for the other erojiji translation patch, Tenshin Ranman. And I would add console stuff, I actually have an IOS patch on the list (chaos;head noah). I barely follow console translations these days, most of the ones I know of aren't for VNs, and I don't know of any relevant partial patches for console VNs. -
Nobody likes Metroid 2 very much, even hardcore Metroid fans.

If you're struggling with that "walkthrough" then you probably shouldn't be machine translating Meikyuu. Just wait for the next two games to be properly translated, it won't take very long. Otherwise you'll likely ruin your first impression of the game.

List of All VNs with English Partial Patches and Their Progress
Decay replied to Decay's topic in Visual Novel Talk
You're awesome, I needed someone who got some of this stuff as it was released. I don't know about Sumaga, I feel like we're liable to get attacked by Nitro+/JAST. I'll ask Tay. As for those others, I don't even know how I missed those. I'm gonna do another look over things to see if there was anything else incredibly obvious that I missed. That's actually kind of shameful. Sorry, guys. Also I'm putting Yoake into the in-progress category because I'm an optimistic guy. Thank you for filling in the gaps for me. -

I don't know what you're talking about, clearly I did not miss something that obvious. I would never do my man Fiddle wrong like that. -
List of All VNs with English Partial Patches and Their Progress
Decay replied to Decay's topic in Visual Novel Talk
For 11 eyes, I missed that but it doesn't cover 28% of the game. The 28% was the progress on the full patch, which they've dropped. For atled, why isn't this on VNDB? Who is it from? What's the quality? If it's machine translation, I'm not adding. edit: What version of atled is this even for? Also interesting, I didn't know about the Sumaga partial, is that from the TLWiki team? Since these last two don't have VNDB entries, I'd want to get some manner of confirmation that they're legit before adding them. I'll probably try them out myself tomorrow if no one else can confirm them. Thank you very much for the Concerto Note patch, although I'm pretty sure that's not actually the latest version (the latest version is from 2011). I actually downloaded it a month ago and deleted it, then forgot where I got it from, lol. About Little Busters EX, I wasn't sure what to do about that, since it's just the regular Little Busters complete translation haphazardly stapled onto ME/EX. I guess I should include it. -
Hoshizora no Memoria has what is the quintessential tsundere in Komomo. She's one of my favorite tsunderes and probably has the best route in that game.

FFX's voice acting blew my mind, but probably for a different reason than yours.

List of All VNs with English Partial Patches and Their Progress
Decay replied to Decay's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Okay, so here's the deal with the Sharin FD. Everything that isn't the Houzuki route is machine translation. Someone on 4chan took the TLWiki partial patch and attached shoddy machine translation to it, and released it as a complete patch. I don't consider machine translations when I think about translation patches, so I make the claim that there is no proper complete FD patch and the TLWiki partial patch is the most comprehensive proper patch for that game. I actually deleted the "complete" patch from VNDB tonight because I want to erase it from people's memories (and VNDB has a no machine translation policy) -

Oh, about SubaHibi, there is actually a leaked partial translation patch that translates like 70% of the game but 1) The link I found was dead, and 2) I dunno about including an unofficial leaked patch (even though I'm pretty sure it was intentionally "leaked" by the translator on 4chan). Also it is really hard to rapidly say the word "lists" out loud. -
Majikoi S Translation Project Discussion

LISTS LISTS LISTS LISTS LISTS LISTS LISTS LISTS Some people like to read VNs as soon as humanly possible. Some like to just preview the translations to come. Sometimes a translation is abandoned part way through, never to finish. Whatever reason they may have, many like to read partial translations. Plenty of VNs make this easy due to their route-based structure. You can often get a complete story even if there are only one or two routes available. However, despite there being a resource to list all VNs completely translated, there is none to list those that are only partially translated. This list will encompass both translations currently in progress and those that are not. It will NOT, however, cover the current progress of in-translation projects, it will only tell you how much is available in its released partial patch. If you want to keep up to date of all translations currently in progress, please follow the VNTS updates arranged by Tay and I, and follow the VNTL-Moon update aggregator. Note: This post will not cover interface or machine translations. There needs to be at least some manual translation of the story text. When possible, I will try to link to the project pages, but sometimes those are no longer available. In-progress translations (These are patches for VNs with currently active projects that wish to release a complete translation eventually) Amagami (patch links, copy and paste them from the page) - Translates the first day (project page) Bishoujo Mangekyou -Norowareshi Densetsu no Shoujo- (patch link) - Translates the prologue. Clover Day's (patch link) - Translates the common route only. Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai (patch link) - Translates the Kana, Ureshino, and Shirasaki normal routes. (project page) Dracu-riot! (patch link) - Translates Elina, Azusa, Rio, Nicola, and half of Miu's route, 90% total translation. (Old project dead, new project here) Hara Kano!! (patch link) - Translates everything except the Hiyo h-scenes, which is being translated by another person. Hinomaru (patch link) - Translates most of Hina's route. (There is another older partial patch covering the same content from a different long-dead translation project here) Koi ga Saku Koro Sakura Doki (licensed) - Translates the Mio and Konami routes. Little Busters ME/EX (licensed) - Takes the completed regular Little Busters translation and makes it compatible with ME/EX, does not translate any of the new stuff. Sumaga (licensed) Translated the Spica route and half of the Garnet route. Patch is unavailable due to the game being licensed. JAST claims to be releasing it this year. Sweet Pool (patch link) - "Chaotically" translates the whole game, only half of it is edited, none of it is TLCed/QCed. (final, fixed patch is almost done) Tenshin Ranman (licensed) - Translates the prologue. Project homepage is down, patch was lost. SP license makes this moot. To Heart 2 XRated (patch link) - 100% translation, but still in an unfinished beta due to having unedited routes. Witch's Garden (patch link) - Translate the prologue. Wonderful Everyday - Discontinuous Existence(SubaHibi) (licensed) - A "leaked" patch translated around 80% of the game but it has since been licensed and the patch removed. I can't believe I forgot about No Pantsu. What on earth is MangaGamer doing? They're partnered with the companies behind the No Pantsu and both 365 little sisters games and they haven't touched ANY of them! They're sitting on such a gold mine!

It gets easier to make it as the season goes on and there are fewer poopsockers, so probably, if you put enough time into it.

If I wasn't dead I'd demand a rematch.

i will make this. edit: oh god i just said that out loud edit 2: i made it http://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/10328-list-of-all-vns-with-english-partial-patches-and-their-progress/

I'm pretty sure that goes against one of the hague conventions.

If you want something with a very strong focus on romance, I would not actually recommend Grisaia or Rewrite. Grisaia is more focused on comedy and later in the routes, melodrama. While Rewrite is, well, it's a pretty messy, unfocused story in general. Some of the heroine routes have no romance at all, and neither does the true route. Clannad, ef - a fairy tale of the two, and Symphonic Rain are probably the english translated titles with the heaviest focus on romance.

MGS1 is definitely a very dated game. If you play any version of that, it should probably be Twin Snakes, although apparently that doesn't emulate very well. It may be one of those games that you had to have been there for. It was absolutely revolutionary at the time, bringing gameplay and storytelling experiences that simply did not exist until then. The next MGS games actually turned into fun games to play. I think MGS3 still holds up and is a phenomenal experience.

The general idea is that Flamestrike is one of those specific cards that, while really good, you don't want too many of. Picking it early can limit your options later in the draft, while picking the hungry dragon makes you able to pick up the flamestrike against much worse cards later on. You should have many more 4 drops than flamestrikes, after all. That flamestrike vs mirror image pick happened in like pick #11. Having three flamestrikes after eleven picks would have been more than a little excessive. You can actually see this philosophy more clearly with Assassin's Blade in rogue. If given a pick #2 of Assassin's Blade vs Amani Berserker, I would pick the berserker. If the same set shows up in pick #29, and you don't have any assassin's blade and a perfectly smooth curve, you pick the assassin's blade for sure. The problem being that picking one assassin's blade makes the rest MUCH worse. Picking one means you really strongly don't want to pick any more for the rest of the draft, while picking a berserker has no such negative effect on any cards. So early on, you pick the card that gives you the most options later in the draft. If you pick the blade over the berserker in pick 2 and later down the line you get a blade vs raid leader vs windfury harpy you're going to be real sad because that means you'll have to pick a garbage card. Flamestrike vs Hungry Dragon in pick #4 (I was off by one) is a much less extreme version of that. That said, it's a super close pick and while my little robot was telling me to pick Hungry Dragon, I went with Flamestrike instead. The draft definitely would have gone better if I picked the Hungry Dragon, and it's actually a perfect illustration of why it wanted that card. But it's so hard to pass up that sweet flamestrike, since it's such a big swing card. P.S. Fel Reaver absolutely crushed it. It won a lot of games and while it followed ze rules a couple of times my opponents never actually managed to mill me to nothing. And the fel reaver set up some excellent Drakonid Crushers. Drakonid Crusher is an incredibly good card.
