  1. Polar opposite for me. Romance doesn't interest me in the slightest.
  2. Yeah, definitely one of my main complaints against the game. Action VN's definitely need more variety and less repetition than that. Perhaps they should've held back on the h-scenes and put those resources elsewhere.
  3. Rock, metal and its sub-genres. I mostly listen to instrumental stuff like Joe Satriani, Jason Becker, Michael Lee Firkins, Marty Friedman, Timo Tolkki and so on. I don't have a favorite song or piece, but Marty Friedman's Scenes album is flawless. I also listen to a lot of classical music. Mostly Vivaldi.
  4. Will give Aoishiro a shot once I'm back from vacation in Denmark later this week.
  5. Kara no Shoujo has some great artwork. Ayakashibito looks great as well, although it's a terrible VN.
  6. That's one bizarre fetish.
  7. I don't know the source material too well, but the live action Ichi the Killer was pretty damn good.
  8. I fast forward through h-scenes entirely. They negatively affect the experience. If I wanted to watch porn, I'd go and do just that.
  9. I'd just play an actual video game if I wanted any gameplay. Gameplay kind of ruins the experience for me. Doesn't really matter to me if a VN has many choices or not. My favorite VN of all time is Kikokugai: The Cyber Slayer, which has none.
  10. I prefer true routes. I feel that there's no real conclusion otherwise.
  11. I'd have to go with Cowboy Bebop for both. Stylistic animation and great music. The credits also tell Spike, Vicious and Julia's backstory and relationships without a single word. Elfen Lied and Darker Than Black also have great openings.
  12. Nope. Never left anything to chance. The next person has a cat.
  13. Replaying Planescape: Torment currently. I previously played a couple of hours of Wildstar over the beta weekend. Good fun.
  14. True. I have a god awful 10mb line which downloads 1.2mbps and uploads 60kbps tops. Might be time for an upgrade. Last time I checked, I had the fastest available line in my area; but that was many years ago. Next person has a Steam account.
  15. False. The next person watches Game of Thrones. Correct. And also, the joke is that Alektorophobia is the fear of fowls, one of which is the rooster, otherwise lovingly referred to as a Cock. The next person is a fan of The Wire.
  16. Correct. I cannot stand to be in the presence of a Cock for more than 15 seconds at a time. The next person is a hipster.
  17. Need some convincing on that one. The next person has held his or her father's penis hostage for beer money.
  18. Honestly, I haven't watched anime in years. I think the most recent anime I actually watched to completion was Darker Than Black, which came out in 2008-ish if I remember correctly. I'm stuck in the past, so I might re-watch Cowboy Bebop starting next month. I tend to view anime as inferior manga or visual novels and opt to read and play those instead.
  19. Unfortunately, I have no talent or experience with anything required to make a visual novel. My mother is an author, though none of that talent was passed on to me. Good luck if you do get the project going, though.
  20. Well I do still agree that H-scenes are anoying and don't have any sense but if we ignore that I think that story was great, also there is an all-ages edition too that dosen't have H-scenes. Perhaps I did. I did load the game after that horrible decision and went with a different choice which did not result in that dumb scene. I am generally indifferent to everything in life, but unfaithfulness is something I've experienced first hand and makes my blood boil unlike anything else, whether it's fictional or not.
  21. I have vague memories of this game. I think I was 11 when the game came out. Played until some street performer joined the party. Not sure why I stopped playing. Will likely play again, though that will be through emulation for dat higher internal res.
  22. Re-reading Berserk for the umpteenth time. The only difference now is that I own every volume up to 37. Last time I went through the series, I believe I had just received volume 34.
  23. I'm going to play through Swan Song. I do hope it's light on the h-scenes, though. Someone should tell Japan that one can tell a mature story without having 3 hours of moaning and slurping sounds to mosaic genitalia backgrounds.
  24. I posted in a different thread that this was the only game to ever make me flat out quit because of h-scenes (Suzu potty training within the first hour, specifically). I'm not one to start something without seeing it through to the end, so I went back and completed each of the endings over the weekend. Turns out I was right the first time. I found the game to be pretty tasteless all the way through to the end. The characters in the game are nothing but stereotypes interacting with one another for the sole purpose of at some point participating in random sex scenes. I realize this is likely for the sole purpose of fan service, but the protagonist is a goddamn moron. Also, Katou Kotarou only has a significant role in one of the non-canon routes; in which he is shown to be the strongest character in the VN, effortlessly destroying all opposition single-handedly, including the main villain in all the routes. With the exception of Touko's route, in which Kotarou is not in the city, I don't see how one can take the story seriously at all with a seemingly omnipotent character like that. He could solve all the world's problems with his fists. I found all of the action scenes to be lackluster at best; reusing the same few assets over and over. I was expecting them to be at the same level of Kikokugai based on people constantly calling this one of the best action VNs around. On a positive note; the game did have a great OST, though poorly looped.
  25. I don't forget. My memory is a curse.
