  1. I already looked into it and not only the file (sound.npa) seems too light to hold a lossless soundtrack but it's also very hard to extract since nipa doesn't work with Hanachirasu. Thank you for proposing though!
  2. Hi, I'm looking for a mean to get my hands on Hanachirasu lossless OST, whether by buying it or downloading it I don't really mind. Problem is that I didn't find it anywhere on the web when I usually manage to find what I'm searching for. It's surprising considering it's a Nitroplus title so I don't think Hanachirasu might be a small, unknown VN. Can someone help me? (I want to specify that I found some websites selling the soundtrack but since I don't understrand japanese and that the cover wasn't recognizable in my eyes I am uncertain. I could end up buying Kaigen Seito's ost by mistake ) Thanks!
  3. Reading through Hanachirasu, I seriously underestimated this VN. Akane might already be one of my favorite protagonist and the battles, although heavy to read, are really interesting. I've never been this captivated by fights in a VN, it also teached me some fun stuff which is great.
  4. Majikoi S! Tsubame route
  5. Not at all, in Grisaia it wasn't really apparent and the characters blended well. Same opinion for Rose Guns Days, although it is more obvious that there is many different artists, the coloring mixed the characters in a very good way. Still, character-design in VNs is very often completely generic and only hairs and clothes serve as a mean to distinguish characters.
  6. Just finished Sekien No Inganock, pretty good read even if it was messy. I have a question concerning Kerkan :
  7. Pretty good site, there are a lot of CG that I like in many VNs and I can finally use them as wallpapers. Still, is it possible to modify a picture into 16:9 without it looking stretched ?
  8. Chrono Belt, because I want more Kuki. Otherwise it's Evolimit.
  9. Man, those new characters sprites, it seems that not only Tsukihime suffers from severe regression. I don't even want to think about the new soundtrack, YU-NO's main composer is dead and I doubt his genius could be easily reproduced. And "remastering" the old 16-bit music would make it lose its appeal. As for the translation, the TLWiki's one is already great.
  10. imo Mahoyo is second only to Umineko when it comes to soundtrack. Pretty good review btw, chapter 5 is one of the best thing I've read in a VN.
  11. I guess so, but a translation isn't necessarily "good" or "bad",in fact I think most of them are readable without being exceptional. That goes without saying but even if you know how to write, if you're not fluent in english (the target language) that won't be an easy task, a wide vocabulary is important as you said it. About Princess Evangile, I didn't read it but it looks like "that" kind of VN that always get rather floppy translations so it isn't surprising. I don't read many books in english since I don't read fast enough when the language is more sophisticated than what I'm used to so I don't have much experience but I'm going to play Planescape Torment in english soon, this will be a good example of above-average writing, no ? (I suppose you played it, given your BG picture )
  12. I don't agree with the necessity of a good prose for an interesting story, your example is too extreme. I've read about 40 VNs and I can't relate to what you're saying, I don't read nukiges or dating-sim so maybe I've yet to experiment the worst kind of translation in the media but I think that aside from a character's feelings or a poetic representation of some place for instance, it's kinda hard to write something objectively terrible to read that will confuse the reader when the translator is fluent in english. Of course, capturing the original author's style is important but I think prioritizing the meaning is more important. Visual Novels being visual also help for basic informations. Which fantranslation do you consider "bad" btw? I guess I'm a bit vague so it could help. I'm conscious of this, it's just something I can't "get" it seems.
  13. English isn't my native language and it feels good because I have a hard time seeing how Ixrec's translations are awful for instance. Still, I have read some Shakespeare in english and I didn't find the prose itself to be that stunning, for me it's just some text with a bunch of old vocabulary, it feels weird to say that, I guess I don't have the sensibility. Fortunately, good prose isn't necessary to an interesting story, I would hardly call that a major drawback imo. That said, I don't encourage machine translation and shoddy writing but I would choose a fan-translation of an untranslated VN over a profesional translation for an already fan-translated VN.
  14. R07 first h-scenes incoming.
  15. It's no really smart to talk about what happens in Last Season at all since Ryukishi himself said that the surprise element is necessary. Is it possible to be more GAR than these two ?
  16. There were multiple artists at work on RGD that's right. But it doesn't feel out of place since the coloring is very well managed and can associate all of the characters. And personally, I find RGD to be quite gorgeous, far more than the average VN anyways.
  17. RGD definitely deserves more love! What are you all waiting for? Post-WW2 Japan including underworld internal power struggles fueled by ambition and incompatible ideologies, influence peddling with the occupying forces, straight confrontation between mafias... It's also a relevant evidence that the visual novel can broaden its audience, more than just otaku, by delivering stories dealing about controversials and very modern topics.
  18. More than being just interesting in a philosophical way, I seriously hope for SubaHibi to be entertaining, that's the most important point.
  19. Indeed you do.
  20. Finished Rose Guns Days, the ending was a bit lackluster and I think Ryukishi had some of his priorities backwards but everything else is outstanding. We definitely need more VN with unique atmosphere and casting like that, it's more than just very entertaining, it's also super interesting and I learned a lot of things about post-war Japan and others details. About the OST, well, it's 07th Expansion, it's really great and might be as good as Umineko if the latter didn't have so much tracks. Read it, RGD doesn't get enough visibility!
  21. It's only a matter of time before it becomes accessible, legally or not. I mean, would Witch Hunt really upload a full patch that literally nobody can use and leave it at that ? Partially.
