Maria the vigin witch is for me the best series this season.
-
finally finished the tenchi muyo ryo ohki (OVA) series. Without a doubt a enjoyable series. The first harem and comedy series i enjoyed in a long time. And for me the tenchi series are probably the best harem series there is, better than DxD. Although i have not watched the entire tenchi series yet, just tenchi muyo ryo ohki and tenchi war on gremitar. And the ending, is some of the best i have ever seen, i mean the ending songs. Will take a break from the tenchi series for now and find something else to watch and then come back for another tenchi series.

yeah it probably is that as i found it happening myself when maratoning series like these. http://myanimelist.net/anime/477/Aria_the_Animation http://myanimelist.net/anime/25/Sunabouzu http://myanimelist.net/anime/2966/Ookami_to_Koushinryou Now the most likely, reason i got bored ( yeah right most of these are some of my personal favorites)/ quit watching them. - In Aria nothing ever happens NEVER, it is a very slow series that focusus on relaxing and the very slow pace makes one want to sleep. (Still one of my personalt favorites because of this though) - Desert punk concists of short arc's mostly one to two episodes long and has a lot of vulgar jokes and comedy. Which is only funny for so long each week, before it gets mildly boring. - spice and wolf like desert punk is episodic in nature, but has a long story in the background that never gets explored and has lots and lots of talking. All of these series have in common that they consist of short story arc's, and are either slow paced (Aria and spice and wolf) or comedy (desert punk) that makes them less suitible for marathoning as it takes time for a person to transist between two story lines/arc's. And that can make one drop the final few episodes quite easily. this is the primairy reason i tend to watch one or two anime series and read one vn at the same time. ( not counting this seasons series wich i follow) and i just watch/ read what i feel like on that moment. This way you can take a break from a series when you feel like it and they dont get boring. Best thing to do is to make sure they are in a different catagery, for example romcom and mecha. Now some other series are quite suited to marathoning examples are http://myanimelist.net/anime/5781/Isekai_no_Seikishi_Monogatari http://myanimelist.net/anime/20/Naruto http://myanimelist.net/anime/93/Mobile_Suit_Gundam_Seed all of these series have multiple overlapping story lines that occur at the same time or have long story arc spanning multiple episodes. And that makes them quite suitable for marathoning. And DAMM that was one wall of tekst hope i have not bored you to much Edit: well that is my view anyway and it works for me, as for the thruth.....no idea. It might be the truth or i tmight just be utter BULLSHIT.

you dropped spice and wolf around episode 11, which is strange as it has a sequel and has some of the best banter i have ever hear anime or otherwise. So a question first, are you marathonning series or are you watching them a bit at a time and interspacing them with other series or vn's? The reason for this question is that some series are really unsuited to marathoning, Spice and wolf being a prime example because of the very large amount of conversation in it, another an probably the best example would be aria the animation wich is just to damm slow and relaxing for maathoning. And personally i have also dropped a lot of series in the last two or three episodes, because they just did not live up to my expectations or because i did not want them to end. Which i did with spice and wolf, it must have taken three months to watch the final episodes. On another note the spice and wolf novels are available in english and licencet by yenpress, you might want to check them out as they have better pacing and story choeision. (pretty sure i spelled that horribly wrong) I'm curious as to your answer.

whoops, might have given you the wring impression there. What i meant is that the atmosfere is similair, and the way they talk. It is an enterly different series, but like spice and wold it has a good brain on its head and the banter is quite nice to listen too. And like spice and wolf it can be sexual without needing to resort to boobs and ass and just using word plays.

maria the virgin witch. No matter how i look at it definitly the best anime this season. It just really hits the sweet spot for me.

if it is chemestry i can help, so it depends on wich science we are talking about.

try utawarerumono (hope i spelled that right) or tears to tiara if you have not played them yet.

i would just be happy if all the books got translated properly, i have the first three novels at home. (the crest of the stars series) But i can see why he would not mention anything, as most space series are pretty damm crap. -_-

welcome, hope you will have a fun time here. and there are some great vn's out there, the ting about them is tough that all of those are long. planaterian is a great first vn to read tough, lovely little tale. Also below this is my rambling, basically something i do when someone new comes around. Fell free to ignore it if your not interested. Fate/stay night is a must play. It is nothing like the anime thing that carries its name. (well we do now in the unlimited blade works adaption) And we just have a new patch that has translated the realta nua version of the game. (wich is an all ages game so it does away with the H stuff and replaces it by something else) http://vndb.org/v11 Tsukihime Another must play, and no this one does not have a anime adaption. http://vndb.org/v7 (it is ancient, got no voice and no music. But it is so good) Muv Luv series, now Muv Luv extra is not that good and Unlimited is merely good but alternative is definitly a must read and to understand it completely you need to have read these two first. (I so hope muv luv alternative get's an anime adaption at some point) http://vndb.org/v93 (extra/unlimited) yes they are packed into one game http://vndb.org/v92 (alternative) g senjou maou Is also a must read. http://vndb.org/v211 clannad is also a must read and is together with fate/stay night one of the vn flagships, muv luv can possible also be considered a flagship. http://vndb.org/v4 Other than that there is Grisaia no Kajitsu wich is also a must read. (By the way, no panty shots in this one, just sex jokes by amane instead) http://vndb.org/v5154.

crest and banner of the stars, one of the very few good space series. It has some great characters, a lot of good dialog. And while the animation is nothing special the combat is decent. What sets this series apart from the rest is the worldbuilding is does, wich is some of the best i have ever seen. No ecchi moments in the series at all though, and the fasion sense is pretty terrible for the most part. But it is practical in space. I keep hoping for another season, but that is unlikely to ever come. http://myanimelist.net/anime/290

i would recommend maria the virgin witch and yoru no yatterman as the series that show most promise this season.

......What the hell did i just read..... So now what?
-
happy to be of service unless you plan to forgo sleep, that ain happening as three of those series are fifty episodes each. Or in other words i days worth of watching with no breaks.
-
- the massive increase in ads over the years. - the way copyright and regional locks have not evolved allong with the world and the internet. I mean seriously they are outdated as hell, those copyright laws predate the internet. - how we still ALL have to work and pay for things despite it techically being possible for more than half of the work not having to work.
-
the opening for Aria the animation is a great one, simple because it changes the animation each episode and is a very nice song. another very nice one is from utawarerumono. most of the garden of sinners OST; most of the fate/zero ost the aldnoah zero ost and one of my forgotten favorites, the your under arrest ost, alot of the gundam series also have some epic ost's other than that i cant remember anything specifically, as most anime ost are pretty forgettable and generic. Still most series have at least one decent track. and trust me you will know when a series has a great ost. because generally it can make a good series into a fantastic series.

post apocalyptic, comedy, ecchi, and in some ways harem altough that one is debatable. the thing with desert punk is that it does not pretent to be something it is not. .....Yeah i am doing a terrible job of explaining so i will give the word to my lovely assistant youtube.
-
Agree DxD is a great show in the ecchi/harem category. Although i personally prefer desert punk because of the main character. But desert punk is just one of those wierd and hard to classify shows.
