I also feel that stories that can motivate us to move us closer to the characters or to spur us tp bring some change in the world are indeed very powerful and worthy of our attention. How did you feel when you were retracing the protagonist's steps?

Common route took me like twenty hours to finish reading. You'll be skipping through it a lot in repeated playthroughs in order to finish up all the other routes. Last day of the common route is on so just keep an eye out for that.

You can never have enough external hard drives. It wasn't too long ago that I got a 1 TB external hard drive and it's only got about 30 GB left. I figure it's better to invest in one of those 4 TB stationary hard drives, but they're like almost $200 so I think I'll wait for a price drop. I usually keep my saves and word documents in several flash drives and anime/movies/VNs in the external hard drives. I'm going to be middle-age before I can experience blazing fast internet and perhaps the advent of a petabyte drive, one can only hope...

Welcome to the forums! It doesn't seem like anyone is stepping up to the plate to translate VNs that revolve around guro and horror, so machine translation will have to suffice for now.

I don't I've encountered anything so far in a VN that has turned me off so much that I'd reject it entirely. Even the Higurashi artwork which I've seen discussions revolving around seems pretty tame. Sure, the ham fists are distracting and sometimes you can't properly gauge what their reactions are, but if the writer has done a good enough job the reader should be able to know what the characters are feeling and what the tone of the piece is. I read VNs for the story and characters, the rest is just icing on the cake so I can better enjoy the experience.
