  1. I don't know if it's really relevant but.. There is one such story at the beggining of Fate Hollow Ataraxia, rather creepy. Of course it's not as creepy as it would be if it was something like a secret route, but it's something. I haven't found a video on Youtube with the gameplay of said story, so I tried recording it on Fraps and uploading myself.. Turns out Fraps doesn't recognize FHA, so no luck =/
  2. I thought the same thing when I started playing it. My guess (or impression) is that due to the antics of KEY's comedy and character development, the beggining can be a little boring, but it's a great story overall. I advise patience, just go with the flow and you'll be amazed (that's how it went for me anyways, I could be wrong xD)
  3. Just played through the first two episodes, interesting game. Gotta love the Unhacker, not many characters are as blunt and perverted (at least openly) as he is xD There is only one thing... Plenty of potential for difficulty and plot increasingly altogether, but I'm sure you have all figured it out already, right? Just one question, is the art yours? If it is (or some friend's too) congrats, I can't draw even hands >.<
  4. Ehhh, everyone is so amazing, and then there's Steve. lol~ Just kidding, Steve is my partner in crime, course he's amazing too. Congrats you all.
  5. Actually, I have an idea: somebody can just draw it xD
  6. http://konachan.net/post/show/148587/hoshizora_no_memoria-mare_s_ephemeral I give up, I'll get spoiled in the process...
  7. Poor lolis... 6th and 7th place... Not to mention Komoe and Touma aren't even on the top 8...
  8. Yeah after completing 4 routes of good endings, I've decided that I've seen the best of School Days and any more of this Russian Roulette would be pushing my luck, so yeah I'm moving onto Rewrite now. I really don't want to deal with these extremely gore NTR'ish scenes.

    Hoi!

Clannad is absolutely good, I prefer the anime adaptation over the VN, but both are great. Haven't got my way with Kanon and Air yet, but eventually.. Aanyways, keep an eye out for Metaler, he's from "Pátria Amada" (Beloved Country) as well xD If you begin translating some interesting VN to portuguese let me know, should be a good training. I can also give suggestios as to which one, preferably something you've already played. Although I'd hold on doing something as extensive as Clannad on a first time, so do take some suggestions trough the forums, there are many spetacular VN you haven't played yet =D

    Hoi!

Sup dude. Judging from your name and your portuguese, I'm guessing you're a fellow brazillian. I've got many questions, but for now: 1. What are the VN you've already played? (not all of them, just from the top of your head) 2. You're translating VN into portuguese? How can I say this.. Rarely there is a person that likes (or will come to like) VN's and doesn't already understand english to a certain degree. It may sound like prejudice, but that just how it is given public education in most portuguese speaking countries (not just portuguese ones, but them as well). If, even so, you CAN find a "market" or "comunity" for your hard work, I'd be willing to help.
  11. I think the anime is going that way too. I hope this somehow has some connection to Kate (I mean, they wouldn't put her there for nothing), she's a character that has much room for development. That said, I also think Yozora had her spotlight on the first season, but I've been rooting for Sena since the first season, so...
  12. I think I'll hold on playing more until the Memorial Edition is out. Great game nevertheless, I still hear omw to college.
  13. Thanks, just skimming through the list is enough to pick my curiosity. Guess I'll try the Monogatari series for now.
  14. I have some experience actually. I've read Fate/Apocrypha's prologue and the first volume of Kara no Kyoukai, but I'd like to try many light novels that mainly have an anime adaptation, but fans aways say that they're not on par with the original work, albeit good (like a movie that does not meet the book's... "expectation"?). Nevertheless, the little I've read I liked it, so can you recommend me any sites with english light novels? I'm a mere leech at japanese translation for now -.-
  15. Wrapping up School Days HQ, currently deciding between Hozhizora, Rewrite and Umineko to play afterwards..
  16. Light novels... maybe I should dabble in this black art xD
  17. ^ This. Truer words have never been spoken.
  18. I don't think I said this to you especifically, but since you took the trouble of writing so much it'd be rude to just ignore it. There are many flaws in what you just said exactly because you're thinking too hard about it. " A Good life story, (Which is the category I place VNs in) should serve as a magnify glass into a characters life and the characters around him/her. " There are many VN that are story centered, not character centered. " Good VN's generally also have a theme that focus around the monotony of life." That's no rule, not even generally. " So because VNs generally focus around the monotony of life it is natural for their narrative to be longer then most other genres of stories." There are, actually, many fast-paced VN narrative-wise, like Sengoku Rance, My gf is the President, Monster Girl Quest and Nukiges in general. And finnaly, this ain't much of an argument, but it's for the sake of not generalising: " In general VN's progress chronologically day by day, and rarely will skip large gaps of time. " Clannad has a span of 8 years, I know you said generally but I hate making rules and setting things in stone, it's great because it doesn't have a formula. Be it long or short, with a deep thematic or a rather shalow one, it can still be good if it serves it's purpose, for example, a comedy can be shallow story-wise but good in what it does. That said, this thread wasn't meant for this kind of debate, and I myself am rather tired and uninterested in further outcomes from this, so I won't post about it here any longer. Of course, I will listen to whatever you have to say, but message me or something if that's the case
  19. Just started playing, misleading sure is the definition of the choices..
  20. I agree completely. Besides, "too much text" is relative. If I'm reading a good plot, unless it REALLY is EXACT repetition (what I've only seen in in Shikkoku no Sharnoth, and the game was still good), I don't mind god-sized visual novels with infinite chunks of text. Okay, maybe that was too much, but the point are: 1. There is no overly long text in overly good stories, as long as the author hass the creativity to finish the plot when he should, it should be as long as it takes. 2. Maybe, for those who consider a VN to have "too much text" are either not enjoying what they are reading at the moment or their tolerance is outright low. Sometimes, you gotta make an effort to read a little more, then the rest comes by naturaly. My keyboard is dyslexic

  22. Since I liked TWGOK I'll watch for sure. Most anime that come from light novels are great, from what I've seen so far, but the own light novel is usually better (kinda like the book is better than the movie, I guess...)
  23. In order: FMA: Brotherhood, Code Geass (whole series), Fate/Zero, Clannad (whole series), Steins;Gate, Kara no Kyoukai, Monogatari Series,Guilty Crown...... While comedy may not be among the first rankers, I do enjoy it quite a lot, although I enjoy "serious" series more. My fave for comedy would be School Rumble, but there's a lot more like Nichijou, Baka Test, Seitokai Yakuindomo...

    Hello

Hey there, welcome to the community! It may seem trivial but I think it's worth the effort (to stop being merely a stalker, I mean xD). People here are easy to befriend so I'm sure it'll go alright. But wow, I'm envious of you since you got so many good stuff to read, I just wish I could forged Fate, G Senjou, Sharin no Kuni, Steins;Gate, Little Busters, Clannad (and on, and on...) just so I could play them again, so if you ever need any recommendation, I'm sure everyone will be happy to oblige (me too >.<) PS.: I'd hold on reading Tsukihime for now since the remake is being made and you have so much good stuff to choose, but that's just my personal opinion.
  25. Hey there, nice to meet ya! I'm seeing a lot of familiar titles in your list, so I guess we have similar tastes? xD Anyways, Ever 17 must be nice to be in that top three, so I'm thinking of picking it up myself, is there anything I need to know regarding sequels, route sequence or whatever?I'm counting on your recommendations from now on =D
