That was quick. Haha, it doesn't make much sense, but it's enough information to tell me it's related to the speakers. Thanks very much. np, maybe the do means degree or level, to be honest I don't know. -

Confession: I hate when I post something in a thread and then someone post the exact same thing but I get ignored and the guy behind me doesn't, I think there are the 3 plausible reasons for that: a) people don't like me probably for a good reason b) my grammar is terrible so they dont bother reading what I say or they don't understand what im saying xD c) The Illuminati

I don't think those are spoilers you literally do those stuff like 10 min into the game :/ No, he's referring to something else. I don't think it's really spoilers at this point, this is the main reason people like the game and I don't think people should hide the absolute basics. The part you're familiar with comprises only half of the VN. The other half is very different. There's still some sexual deviancy prevalent throughout it, but it's more diluted. I thought he was talking about what I said, I don't like to give away spoilers even if they are just little ones that's why I didn't talk about anything else regarding the plot.

Characters or story - Whats more important?
Deep Blue replied to Dergonu's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I don't think you can't have a good story without good characters so in my opinion they are mutually exclusive, at least if I think that the characters are poorly written then the story sucks, now having a character that I dislike is a totally different thing. -
I cannot recommend this game but then again is not my type of vn, if you are into scat, rape, torture, etc etc trapped people playing a game like saw but sexual then this is your vn.

lol I do the same -
Confession: I cannot watch porn anymore. Every time I see a girl doing a porn movie (specially those low budget ones) I start thinking that she is probably not enjoying anything of what she is doing even being forced to do it, what kind of things are going on through her mind, what happens once the camera is turned off, why is she there in the first place... and I can't keep watching. It didn't happen in the past because I never stop to think about those things but now that I do I can't watch anything anymore >_> fuck everything. wtf

Whatever you do, kids, don't learn from this. what's wrong with james rolfes's humor? (leaving aside that stupid mask that I hate as many of their fans do)

playing euphoria and I already don't like it...not even a bit, is like SAW but add porn and fetishes to it. Needless to say that I hate that movie too xD I'm not saying is bad just not my type of game. you will have to reach the ending for that to happen and that takes a pretty long time so be patient, some endings are really good and the characters are good but again what really makes this vn "mind blowing" is the true ending.

I haven't read that novel maybe in the future (i'm not really into charage I need some real drama ) so I can't say if his translation is good or bad (mdz's) but I do like darbury's work, I read the cheese parody, the whale blog, etc, all his works are pretty good in my opinion. Maybe we have the team right under our noses and we don't know it yet.

Pevear started out not understanding the language he was helping his wife translate, although he confesses he picked some Russian up over time (which would be only natural given his extensive exposure.) The key here is communication, that is you engage in plenty of it. My point was that while it would be difficult to find someone willing to translate VNs that can both translate and write at a high level (although they exist,) there are a fair few people floating around the fanbase who are proficient at Japanese, and quite a few individuals who can write very decently, and so the logical thing to do is to form a team. I not sure if it is possible to gather a team like that but I would love to see one in the future.
-
Translators who aren't writers either have someone on their team who can write, or an editor who does that job. Pevear and Volohnsky is a very famous example, award winning duo where V will translate the text as literally as possible and P will write it in a way which works in English but doesn't lose the original meaning. My point was that he was naming a famous writer which is also a translator himself, also you are giving me an example were both of them speak and understand the same language that are translating, give a literal translation to the best writer who cannot read the original script to edit it and I'm sure it's not going to do a good job with it.

I see, so they all have very little differences or connotations, except for 会う which can be interpreted in all ways depending on the context but most of the time is used in a neutral way, that's actually pretty interesting and what I read makes more sense now. Thanks a lot!
