Could someone help me, I'm trying to edit the text of the english release of STARLESS.

Extracting the data is simple enough, but altering the text is proving difficult, textractor++ messes with the coding/arrangement so I hopped over to arc_conv and the subprogram text_conv to convert the .mjo files into .txt files, but when I try to revert them back to .mjo files they end up completely empty.

I followed the steps listed here, but they just don't seem to work...

https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/4887-data-extraction-thread/page/17/#comment-346655

https://github.com/3licie/majiro-tools/blob/master/txt2mjo_howto.txt

For example this """""text_conv majiro staed001b_ero_scene_ed03.mjo staed001b_ero_scene_ed03.mjo < staed001b_ero_scene_ed03.txt"""""" is in the cmd prompt, with the files and text_conv in the same folder, but it just creates an .mjo file with nothing in it.

Edit: Also if there's a way to ADD new lines to an .mjo file I'd greatly appreciate being told how.

Use https://github.com/arcusmaximus/VNTranslationTools.

It supports.mjo format and you can add linebreak as well, the default is 50 letters but you can change that in Vntectpatch..exe.config file.

Ello all, I trying to get Hara ☆ Hara!! ~Nakadashi Gakuen Se~katsu~ (Swayeye's first game in the Hara series) Special Edition to run but the exe the game comes with is not working at all.
The game was recently translated (MTL'd) and I was testing the game out however ran into this problem.
It's a Kirikiri2 exe file, and for some reason it requires admin rights to run (only on Windows 10, older OSes don't show that).

The special edition is basically the DL version of the game that came out in 2009, versus the original CD version of the game which came out back in 2007.

Anyways the exe isn't working on Windows 10 (x64), as it runs only in the background taking up 25% of the cpu forever until I force close it.
I tried running the game under Windows XP and Windows 7 VM to see if it runs to no avail. I had to use the  Game's CD 1.01 Patch exe which worked however
it runs on an older version of KiriKiri2 and can't open 3 of the extra settings and can't play the Harem route as it crashes due to missing files that are present in
the original Special Edition DL exe.

So I was wondering if anyone knows how to either fix/patch the exe or extract any of the embedded .ks files that are apparently needed to use/run the game's
settings including the Harem Route? I'll leave a link to the exe here in case anyone wants to examine it:
https://mega.nz/file/IlJDBYJY#zN8ZCAK5WjQY7iHhinh4WOSQSDC_NEJ0jnGUNoKYwUs
(I'll delete this link once it's resolved)

Thanks and sorry to bother!

What tools can be used to extract and package this .bin file? - https://disk.yandex.com/d/wx11ZB-wh3Q9Tg

Hmm...after using GARBro (Game Resource Browser) to browse the scripts.bin you provided...ah this is the script from "Tincle ★ Twinkle Festival!" I see!
Very nice! Are you planning on translating it or just trying to read the scripts for eaiser time to play? Either way let me help!

In GARBro, It says that the scripts.bin is a DxLib Engine Resource Archive (Though the game was made in Pix Studio so I guess it uses DXLib which is Interesting!).
I don't know anything about DxLib but I believe they're tools to archive it, GARBro is able to extract the scripts.bin so if you want that you can get it here:
https://github.com/crskycode/GARbro

(I'm using a forked version of GARBro as this is more active and up-to-date)

Extract and Open GARBro once done, then either open or browse to the folder where your scripts.bin is and you can either open it to browse the script files or choose to extract it!
(When extracting, make sure to tick off "Extract Images" and "Extract Audio" as they're no such files within the scripts.bin and it'll not properly extract them!)

As for archiving the scripts back together well...I saw a tool called "DxaEncode" but I don't know if it's the right program to do it or if there's something better/different needed to archive it, give it a try though as you can find instructions and the DL link under "DXLibary" here:
https://lenen.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Game_Tools_and_Modifications

Hope this helps, your welcome and see ya!

While I was waiting for a response, I found a way to make the game run its scripts from an extracted state/form.
To do this, you need to extract the scripts into the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\DigitalCute\ttf\ttf\scripts" and move the "scripts.bin" file itself to a different location.

Ah that's very nice to know! Will come in handy when it comes to translating their games heh, thanks and your welcome!
Are you planning on translating the game btw or something else?

I'm considering creating a machine translation patch, but I'm not sure if it's worth the effort.

No, I doubt I would be able to create a machine translation patch because of the following problem -

The first character of each line must be full-width. You can just use a full-width space. If I remember correctly, the engine is PixStudio.

There are no such spaces in the original text

Lol, the game engine doesn't want to work with English text, yet it works fine with Cyrillic.

Like I said, the line must begin with a full-width character. Ascii is half-width, while Cyrillic is full-width.

Like said above, maybe you should improve your tech skills first before start translating vns

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is still active, but does anyone know how to unpack/repack text from 最終痴漢電車3 ? I think the script is in SCR.ARC but unfortunately this extracts to .scr files. I tried using AE E17 SCR tool from there; however, it's not recognizing the format.

You can use the offzip tool made by aluigi to extract the DAT: https://www.aluigi.altervista.org/mytoolz/offzip.zip
And the packzip one to repack the edited files: https://www.aluigi.altervista.org/mytoolz/packzip.zip

  • To use offzip:
offzip -a -z -15 -Q "where_your_package_dat_is" "folder_where_you_want_to_extract_the_files"

Example:

offzip -a -z -15 -Q "C:\Users\your_user\Downloads\Trick or Alice\package.dat" "C:\Users\your_user\Downloads\Trick or Alice\output files"
  • Edit the files (you can open them with Notepad++) and save the changes.
  • To repack:
packzip -w -15 -o "offset of the file you edited" "file_you_edited" "package_file_you_want_to_want_to_modify"

Example:

packzip -w -15 -o 0x00139db4 "C:\Users\your_user\Downloads\Trick or Alice\output files\00139db4.__a" "C:\Users\your_user\Downloads\Trick or Alice\package.dat"

The offset of each file is the name of the file itself (with "0x" in front of it). I haven't tried modifying a lot of files so I don't really know how the repack of a whole folder would work but I guess it's easy. Let me know if it works :D

Hello, recently I was trying to extract from the archivee.dat file of the game Lilycle Rainbow Stage

I was browsing this forum and found that with GARbro, the files can be easily extracted. I managed to do that and obtained five files, which are the following:

- filename.dat
- GAME.ini
- graphic.bin
- scenario.dat
- textdata.bin

The file I'm interested in at the moment is textdata.bin since it contains all the text of the novel. I managed to convert it from .bin to .txt, modify it, and then convert it back to .bin without corrupting it.

However, I noticed that GARbro cannot create the .dat file (at least the one I'm looking for) for this specific game because if I try to create it using the format that appears in the list (DAT/EGO/1), the internal structure of the .dat file changes completely.

I would like to know if there is any other tool that can create the .dat file with those files. If anyone could help me, please.

P.S.: I'm planning to do an English-to-Spanish translation, so the version of the game I'm using is the Steam version.

I tried out the tools and it worked! Thank you very much for your help. I was finding ways to extract the game file and was left with nothing on the internet, so your help was very much godsend. Like you suggested, I only tried editing one script file and I haven't tried editing the other scripts so I still don't know if repacking a whole folder works but ill let you know once I've tried! Thank you so much again. Here is what it looks like after I inserted the edited text into the game.

Search for a tool that understands that game engine or archive format.

When opening the archive in Garbro, at the bottom left it says which archive type it is using. Look through https://github.com/crskycode/GARbro/tree/master/ArcFormats for clues about which game engine that archive type is associated with. Then search for more resources for that game engine, like on github, or post the name of the game engine here to see if anyone is aware of any resources that work with that engine.

Hi guys! I'm looking for help with extracting data from eroges made by Valkyria. There's a few that I would absolutely love to translate and share in english. I have not had any luck with finding out how to extract or repack data from their games and it seems that they use their own proprietary engine so it's seeming kind of hopeless right now. Thanks!

Kinda late but this tool can be used to tl Valkyria scripts

Hello everyone.
I am translating Renai, Karichaimashita "After Story" from Japanese. Extracting the text files went smoothly, but I have one problem and that is the character names.
I would like to know how I can translate the names, since when modifying the text, an error appears because the game cannot find the script that corresponds to the name.
I investigated and it turns out that the names correspond to a "macro" script or something like that.
I searched through all the data and honestly I did not find the lines of code that correspond to the names (both in .ks and .tjs files)
Does anyone know how to find and modify them?
I know very little about programming so I have no idea.

Excuse my English and thanks in advance.
