    Fabulous on Fuwa - February!

    By Kaguya

Introduction   Welcome, fellow Fuwamembers, to the FuwaRecognition thread. Starting this March, we’ll be highlighting some of the best contributions made by our members each month. From snazzy blog articles to delicious forum threads, and perhaps even a few things more on the shitpost part of the spectrum, we'll keep an eye out for the cream of the crop. And then we'll gather them here. Just for you.   *holds up giant APPLAUSE sign*   A-hem, so this is the f

November's releases so far

It has turned out to be a big month, hasn't it?  Three good quality games in a row... one of which I was sure was going to be a kusoge (guess which one).  This month had a surprising number of non-nukige releases that I was interested in, and I didn't really want to leave any of them to anyone else (I was actually interested in most of them).  Here is a list of what I've played and what I might play before picking VN of the Month. Played Aoi Tori Kizuna Kirameku Koi Iroha Yor

Yoru Meguru, Bokura no Maigo Kyoushitsu

This game is the second project made by Samoyed Smile, a subsidiary of the same corporation that owns Softhouse-seal.  This is, incidentally, why the game has the really crappy lip-sync and sex animations so familiar from that company's works.  That said, this company is not a nukige company, despite the lateral relationship. The game starts with a young teacher, Haruki, teaching a class of dropouts at a night school.  Haruki, having had horrible experiences at his first teaching job, has a

The Interview with Alice Bedford Review

Visual Novel Translation Status (12/03/2017) As for the title, it was based on the 'Mendan' part from Sansha Mendan which translated as 'interview', and the Alice Bedford part was because we had Newton VN Kickstarter (KS) with her as the main heroine - the blonde girl who resembled Michiru from Grisaia with the green eyes and the one who had Isaac Newton name in that VN. By the way, I knew that the VNTS image was from Eustia but even so I decided to keep the title that I made here. Anyway w

Let's play Otomeges in 2018!

Sup dudes! This time, let's talk about otome games! This time, I promise I'll provide 100% doki doki SFW links! I can be a pure maiden sometimes too, you know? I made a list of titles that big names of the otome market will give us next year, so you (we) can start saving money! After all, to get the full experience, you'll need first a PSVita (I guess it's not really hard to find a cheap used one around now since normies think that Vita doesn't have any games). Again, some titles are japane

Kizuna Kirameku Koi Iroha

For obvious reasons, VN vets rarely get up their hopes for games by new VN companies.  Generally speaking, most of them are charage or nukige, and those that aren't usually flop on their faces.  So, it should come as no surprise that the people I chatted with about this game generally didn't have any hopes for it.  However, that is probably because they didn't take a look at the team of scenario writers.  The first one, Gihara, was the writer for Tenka Gomen, Shin Koihime Eiyuutan, Shin Koi

VN of the Month March 2000 - Eve Zero

Eve Zero is the game of the Month March 2000. The other masterpiece of the month is Harlem Blade II, but it's only suitable for those who appreciate RPG. 1. Harlem Blade II ~Dark Angel~ ハーレムブレイドII~Dark Angel~ [000303] Giga Our guy left his childhood girl and went to war against a monster after his father got killed in it. When he came back a year later, he was just in time to see his childhood girl taken away by the monster's army. He joined the resistance and started to fi

Analogue: A Hate Story (western VN review/retrospection)

Analogue: A Hate Story is not a title that necessarily has to be „discovered” or that wasn’t properly appreciated in the time when it came out – among all the VNs developed in the West, it might as well be the one most highly regarded and popular within “proper” visual novel fandom, at least before the recent appearance of Doki Doki Literature Club. Still, it’s a very important game for me personally and for the idea behind this blog, for two reasons. First, Analogue was the first visual novel I

Aoi Tori

Aoi Tori is Purple Soft's latest project, a VN based in a girls' school in the mountains, where the protagonist, a priest (I'm assuming Episcopalian/Anglican for various reasons), goes to school as an exception, as he cannot live outside of the school without being taken by demons. Ritsu, the protagonist, possesses the power to take others' negative emotions, thus enhancing their feelings of happiness and joy, and this power works best when he has sex with them.  Now, given that he is a you

New BL titles coming soon! (+ out right now!)

Wooooooo, first blog entry! Welcome to the otomege and BL paradise on Fuwa! Let's discuss new games and old games, and maybe bring new people to enjoy our little (in Fuwa at least we are the minority...) world! I planned to starting writing next week, but you know what? I found out that some BL developers are actually releasing games this year! (The majority of them loves to make teasers with no release date whatsoever, you know who I'm talking about...), so the hype made me change my plans

VN of the Month February 2000 - Phantom of Inferno

The only masterpiece of February 2000 is Phantom of Inferno and thus it's the VN of the Month. I already made full video walkthrough of the game, but it got wiped with the channel, and I'm not doing it again. 1. Uzumaki ~Denshi Kaiki Hen~ うずまき ~電視怪奇篇~ [000203] Dall A visual novel adaptation of Junji Ito's 1998 horror manga, Uzumaki, for the Bandai Wonderswan. VN of the Month January 2000 - Lien ~Owaranai Kimi no Uta~

There's a big change since 2000. From now on I'm starting to block visual novels by certain criteria (fandisk, nukige, shounen ai, yaoi, antology, demo, non-Japanese, EVN, otome, doujin) which means I'll still note them at the back of the post, but will only provide a synopsis, an opening song and review links where possible. But there is also a good news - I'll be making reviews and video walkthroughs of at least one route from the games of the month.Gensou no Artemis, Lien ~Owaranai Kimi no Ut

Kemono Harem Review

Visual Novel Translation Status (11/26/2017) After we saw many updates from last week, there's no much update from this week so to tell the truth it's kind of plain here. But of course we still had weekly VNTS there, so here goes and sorry for my belated VNTS Review. As for the title here, it's pretty simple because I just make a derivative title from Kemono Friend anime which recently gather some controversy in regard of questionable move from Kadokawa by fired the director of anime adapta

Experimental book post: The Black Jewels Trilogy

This is a test post, based on the results of the poll I posted a few weeks back.  The win was borderline, so if I don't get a reasonably large response, I won't continue to post about my conventional reading. The Black Jewels Trilogy, by Anne Bishop is one of my favorite book series of all time.  It is a dark, sensual fantasy based in a unique universe, where a race of magic aristocrats called the Blood rule three worlds, Tereille, Kaeleer, and Hell.  The main characters of the story are a

VN of the Year 1999

1990s are over. And to commemorate that I've made a video playlist of all the openings/demo/endings with singing/energetic instrumental from 1990s here    I'll be making such playlists for each new year starting with 2000 since each year is going to have over 100 such opening/ending/demo themes. Second Windows era year is behind. It failed to bring such a game that I'd announce Vn of the year 1999 right away. Instead, it brought a number of quality galge and some quirky crypt

Random VN: Zero Infinity - Devil of Maxwell

I've been saving a replay of this VN for years.  My original opinion on this VN was excessively influenced by the fact that this VN is filled to the brim with Masada and Dies Irae worship.  However, it is also the VN that, separate from that, defined the second Light team's style.  The base character archetypes, roles, and numerous aspects of their settings were almost universally drawn from Dies Irae, if you strip away the specifics.  This is the biggest reason I had so much trouble properly ra

VN of the Month December 1999 - Elemental Arts

There are surprisingly many masterpieces this month. There are three: Elemental Arts, Green and SPARK! My personal favourtite would of course be Vist, but even I understand that it lacks the masterpiece level. The game of the Month December 1999 is Elemental Arts since I would not like to compliment eroge'ish Green and bakage'ish SPARK! 1. Vist [991202] C's Ware 1 In a rainy night, the cops are investigating a bizarre murder scene.

The Black Hound of Baker Street Review

Visual Novel Translation Status (11/19/2017) This week we had Kuroinu Chapter 2 release along with the announcement in regard of Newton to Ringo no Ki (I'll call it Newton VN), and because of that I make the title as a derivative version of Detective Conan movie here which had some callback to London (The Phantom of Baker Street) in regard of the real Isaac Newton who lived in London. As for the 'Black Hound' part, it was a direct translation from Kuroinu and I felt that hound was more fitt

VNDB.REVIEW on hiatus and free webhostings rant

It's going to be pretty much my first off-topic post, but I feel the need to inform on the matter why all the links are inaccessible. My free hosting (http://tigrimigri.com/) died on me on November 6th and I've been waiting for it to show up ever since. I can't do monthly overviews without it since I initially fill in data through the wiki. I don't really have any backups save for very early crude version so I felt reluctant searching for a new home. But it's finally the time and I've

VN of the Month, October 2017

First, I should mention that this was an awesome month.  There are multiple releases worthy of consideration for the winner and there are two releases that will be added to overall consideration for VN of the Year 2017. The actual twin candidates were: Yami to Hikari no Sanctuary and Imoten The runner-up was: Junjou Karen Freaks For various reasons, I avoided playing several VNs this month, including Boukyaku Shitsuji and Tsugihagi Make Peace.  The biggest one with the former is t

Leon's Harem Review

Visual Novel Translation Status (11/11/2017) Yeah I knew it's very corny one for the title, and it sounds like the description of an anime with many girl inexplicably fall in love with the MC whose name is Leon. As for the real reason, it was because we had two girls from KARAKARA as the image header and the girls themselves were fall in love with KARAKARA MC whose name was Leon. Anyway, welcome to this week VNTS Review and sorry for be late here again. As for this week, like Decay said the
