  1. If Boobs Sakura Santa really was psychological horror it would be the most interesting Sakura game to date.

    Steam VNs

Eden* and planetarian are both very cheap at the moment and they are great reads. They both also have no cut content unlike a lot of steam VNs. Oh and a kiss for the petals remembering how we met for your yuri needs. Which we all have and if you deny that I'll whack you with a candy cane.

  7. even the toughest guys have their soft and nice side to them just dont over use that expression, same with let's say a crying face, sure it doesnt fit that character but used in some specific moment at the perfect time and you can have one hell of scene, everything depends on the writer and the plot itself. I mean saber (fate/stay night) was really tough and serious but from time to time you see her doing some really cute faces/expressions that make your heart melt away, why? Because it wasnt something normal for her to do, that contrast in her chracter was everything.

  9. Yep. Details coming in 2016. That's the reason why the patch was being delayed for months. Pretty awesome to see any big project nowadays has a fair chance of going legal.

  11. Pulltop's new VN, Miagete Goran, Yozora no Hoshi o looks beautiful, has a large cast of voiced characters with sprites, and generally is an obviously high-budget VN... but it is also a VN I'm not really interested in. You might want to ask why... after all, I like Pulltop's games in general, and it doesn't look any worse than the others by the same company, in terms of production values. It is also being hyped a lot (inasmuch as VNs are ever hyped) and a lot of the people who have just begun playing Japanese VNs are excited... unfortunately, veterans are somewhat less so (with a few rare exceptions). Here are the reasons: 1. The existence of an the protagonist's memborship in an astronomy club. I'm going to be blunt... no other club has so many protagonists as members of it in all of VNs. For every four moege, there is one with a 'tenmon bu' and the protagonist is either a member or helps out. The obsession with stars is more of an otome thing, so I can't help but wonder why... I really am tired of reading VN lectures on constellations I don't give a crap about. 2. The existence of two osananajimi heroines... the osananajimi heroine is the biggest cop-out heroine type. The reason? Because the simple statement 'we are osananajimis' becomes an excuse for laziness in character development and relationship development. It also becomes an excuse for one of the most fundamentally idiotic tropes out there... the 'osananajimi>lovers transition'. I have yet to see one of these that wasn't annoying and made real sense when you took a step back and thought about it. 3. The decision to include a non-entity protagonist. Understand, one of the signs any given VN-maker will almost always give - without realizing they are giving it - when they are going to make the protagonist a non-entity or cipher is failing to give the protagonist his own character profile, even when other male characters have one. I am sick and tired of this reliance on using 'normal' protagonists with a group of heroines harem. It doesn't work and it doesn't make sense, so I wish they'd just stop it. It is one thing if the heroine's link to the protagonist is non-love/non-interest before you get on the actual path... it is almost conceivable that way. However, the dense idiots created by most of these companies just don't work as harem masters.

  24. Narp. The original "Shirou" was a girl named Ayaka Sajyou, and Saber was originally a dude. They switched to a male protag and female Saber because dudes would be more likely to read it if the main character was male. Hah. Didn't know that. Now I've got the mental image of a Girlshirou protecting Dudesaber because "guys shouldn't fight".

  26. I finished the Hanzo storyline of Senran Kagura Burst, and after fussing around doing completionist things for a while (at some point I will complete all the stages in Frantic mode... but not right now), I started the Hebijo storyline. After playing one Senran Kagura game all the way through, I have a lot more respect for this series than I used to, for two reasons: 1) the gameplay is far more fun than I expected, and 2) the approach to the ecchi content is so ludicrously thorough and unapologetic. To put it another way, the game is completely uncompromising. It's not just a fun game with a smattering of fanservice. No, that wouldn't be enough. It's crucial to this one crazy person's ecchi artistic vision that there also be frequent yuri, destructible clothes, short skirts and high winds, beach episodes, changing rooms, only massive knockers (except on poor self-conscious Mirai...), a hyperactive physics engine where the aforementioned knockers are concerned, frequent open discussion of said knockers, and on and on. It's a good game, and it's a freaking festival of ecchi. Japan, you're weird, but I love you for it. Also, I need to trademark "Short Skirts and High Winds" for... something. Maybe a band name.

  29. Well fit! Nyeeeeeh, as mentioned in the main post, animated avatars are slightly beyond my capabilities, not to mention that if it's possible to make one that doesn't decrease quality, it's certainly beyond my comprehension. Yours would have very little space with which to fit the Santa hat regardless. My apologies.

  32. I'm gonna be that one guy who says all the mushy stuff so bear with me here. I joined Fuwa on February 24th and a lot has happened since then. I learned more about Visual Novels, I joined the anime club and I met lots of people here. I'll start from the beginning. My introduction thread: I decided to sign up and join this community since I wanted more info about VNs and there seemed to be a multitude of nice people here. My thread was nothing special compared to all the others, but it's interesting to go back and see all those that greeted me are people I know/are familiar to me now. I also hadn't watched many anime back then either, just the most popular stuff that looked good such as One Piece. The Ambidex Game: Not too long after joining, I found in the Member's Lounge the Ambidex Game run by Stray Cat at that time. It looked like a nice opportunity to meet some people so I said why not and signed up. I met quite a few individuals there, such as the aforementioned Stray Cat, Tiago F.Varela, Funyarinpa, Kurisu-Chan, LinovaA, Cyrille and probably a few others that I can't remember at the moment. The Anime Club: I joined the club in February as well, it was an interesting experience. It was my first time joining a club of some sort. I joined for the same reason as the Ambidex Game and that it would be a good chance to find new anime to watch. My visits to Fuwa continued peacefully like this for a while till late June, when Stray Cat left the site for certain reasons. He put me in charge of the club since I was most qualified, being there every cycle for the last few cycles. We didn't contact each other again till a little later. A Friendship is Born: A little while after Stray left, KosakiFag had commented on one of my status things that nobody uses anymore. We had a conversation about that, then we played Osu together and learned stuff about each other. I then made a PM where we talked for a while. Eventually, he asked if I had a Skype account and if we could talk there. I said I'd make one and we started talking through that. Not too long after, Kosaki told Stray that I had a Skype account and we started a group chat. Over time we added more people to the group and we talk pretty often. Some Miscellaneous Stuff: I started my Strange Stories sometime before Stray left and have been writing them ever since, even if they're few and far in between. I finally finished Rewrite a few months ago and I started up Majikoi soon after. All in all, these are my favorite moments of the year and my favorite year so far. I hope to be here for many years to come!

A comment from Sakurai Hikaru, author and director of “Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning” When asked where the home of “steampunk” lies, our answer must surely be “the English-speaking world.” And today, thanks to a great deal of dedicated assistance, the newest entry in the Far Eastern “Steampunk Series” of works – “Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning” – is being released in English translation. One might well call this a “homecoming” of sorts. And so, let me offer you these words – from the bottom of my heart. ─We’re home, motherland! The amount of love put into "Steampunk" games is astounding, you're doing a disservice for yourself by not buying these awesome games! (Too bad I'm too busy with Christmas preparations to actually play Gahkthun right now... )

    Hi there!

Yes, thank you. See you around there too. Not my type of moe 'w'. Favourite VN? Haven't decided yet. Hmmm......Let me see......Maybe some dark ones like Saya no Uta? Also, it's more preferable if that VN has a long haired girl as the main character or something. Not a fan of harems though.

  40. can i make another wish ? The eyes again! Ah, what wish? WHAT WISH?!? There comes a magical time (according to Japanese porn games visual novels) where a woman must have sex for the first time. According to this literature, this is the only time when the woman loses a membrane of her vagina known as the hymen, which is known as the foolproof indicator of a woman's virginity, which is essential because all men want to be the one to pound their pecker through that membrane and wait for the woman to magically say, "It hurts, but because it's you I can bear it," as blood pushes back out of her vagina onto her thighs and the man's penis. Hence, the slang term "popping her cherry" is created, though who the hell knows why it was called that. Cherries do not resemble membranes at all. It's important to note that visual novels that approach sexual intercourse with a virgin woman as such are likely written by males who haven't even gotten to second base, let alone slide into home, and certainly haven't popped any cherries. It's been medically proven that a hymen that's not intact does not mean the woman is not a virgin, as the hymen can be shrunk or lost due to injuries, disease, medical examination and the act of self gratification, none of which involve a mysterious, charismatic male protagonist wriggling his way into the woman's heart enough to talk her into an awkwardly-worded sex scene. Also note that as of recent studies less than half of women report actually having vaginal bleeding during their first time having sex, as it appears the hymen is rather elastic in nature, allowing for normal things such as tampons to be used fairly easily. Now... who wants candy?
