Hello all. I do video reviews of VN's.
Ike and 5 others reacted to Belmakor19 for a topic
Hi everyone, I've been reading stuff on Fuwa for a while now but never actually participated so I decided it was about time to actually create an account. I'm big fan nakige like Little Busters and Grisaia no Kajitsu and also occasionally lighter stuff like Majikoi. Currently I'm reading Kamadori Alchemy Meister and I'm really enjoying it, though it has enough game play that I'm not sure if that really counts as a VN. Oh, also I do video reviews for VN's and LN's on YouTube as a hobby and I'd love to get some feedback on my work Cheers, Belmakor19 PS: If I break any forum rules please let me know. I'm new to actually posting stuff in threads instead of just reading them so I'm sure I'll make some mistakes6 points -
Only for H-scenes. Edit: Most VNs have some kind of flash or pause that occurs at the end of h-scenes... it isn't always obvious, but once you've picked up the knack for it, it is easy to stop the text at the point where the sex ends.4 points

VN Reading Club- Deus Machina, Demonbane (February)
FruitsPunchSamurai and 2 others reacted to Kaguya for a topic
Arkham city is a bustling hub of commerce and industry, however Arkham is also a center of eldrich lore: home to Miskatonic University, an institution of higher learning with one of the most complete libraries of arcane literature in the world. In the span of two generations the town was built up to the status of prestige it now commands, an expansion helmed by the Hadou Group, an industrial complex and family dynasty currently run by the young Hadou Ruri. She pursues the peace and prosperity of Arkham diligently, against the forces of darkness threatening to plunge the city, and the world, back into a second dark age. Among the most sinister threats to Arkham City is the evil Black Lodge syndicate. Led by the charismatic Master Therion, his nihilistic outlook shapes the group's destructive goals: with a circle of powerful sorcerers at his command, the potential for sowing chaos in the city is unmatched. Former Miskatonic University Magic Academy student Daijuuji Kurou knows little of grimoires, but what he does know terrifies him - enough that he left his university life behind, and now practices a failing detective business in the shelter of an orphanage in a quiet corner of Arkham. But just when he thought his Academy past was buried, it catches up with him and pulls him back into the dark shadows of the occult: Hadou Ruri herself appears at his door with an offer he can't refuse. The only way to combat the Black Lodge's growing magical power is to find, and retrieve, a grimoire with the power to activate the mightiest Machina of all: Demonbane. The quest to find this forbidden tome will change Kurou's destiny... forever. Robots, the Other, otaku humor and tons of chuuni magic battles. This was actually one of my very first VNs, which I played about 8 years ago. Hyped to re-read it. This month's winner is the Innocent Blade, the Smiter of Evil. As Kosaki put it- Go go Demonbane! Let's get Master Therion to rip the very threads of space and time!3 points -

You do realize that Nekopara's entries are really small, easily-translated games, don't you? As for Harmonia... Key has the cash to experiment, most VN companies don't. To be honest, it bothers me that companies with huge libraries that would appeal to a Western audience don't even consider localization (Akabeisoft and its subsidiaries being a prime example of this). There are a lot of great VNs out there that could give existing companies a new life if they were willing to permit a localization. Unfortunately, the likelihood of them doing so is fairly low, most likely due to a hesitation to stick their hands in the bear trap. That wording 'only in Japan'? It's all about self-protection. Whenever an ero-game-maker starts a controversy overseas, it echoes in Japan, causing them more trouble. That is a (there are a lot of other reasons, depending on the company) reason a lot of the bigger companies aren't even willing to consider localization, even paid for by crowd-funding. Another is simple insularity... generally speaking, the Japanese are hesitant about any risk whatsoever... both Nekopara and Harmonia are either non-ero or have a non-ero version. This means that there is little to no risk in bringing them over here, since prudes in the West have always been the biggest reason VNs don't come over here officially, even as ero-lovers were the beginning of VNs coming over here in the first place.2 points

Bishoujo Mangekyou TL Update 4
Asonn and one other reacted to Arcadeotic for a blog entry
Man, I had no motivation to translate this week, yet somehow I got almost 30 kB of text squeezed out, so progress wasn't that miniscule, at the very least. Anyways, this week basically went with only translating h-scenes, which isn't a suprise, but yeah. Honestly, at this point I have no problems translating them, and they are going swimmingly at this point, so I think translating them should be a little faster. But here's the update: ----------------------------------------------------- Week 4: 171,8 kB/710 kB (24,2%) ----------------------------------------------------- We're about 1/4 of the way there! Till next Saturday! - Arcadeotic2 points -
Opinions on VN companies' being close minded to the western market
VirginSmasher reacted to DarkZedge for a topic
Well we talked about it last time, you know i agree that Japanese Vn companies refuse to add an extra language to their vn's for some reason be it cost, time, or simply not thinking it appeals enough to the western market to make it worth it...whichever the reason it is quite annoying to see this keep on going, not only old vn's are not getting translated but newer ones also don't get English releases and it's quite aggravating for all of us i think...despite of being able to read Japanese or using things such as chitrans and all to help out, i find it strange that they still haven't added at least English as an extra language to their vn's for they've see it can sell well from Grisaia or Princess Evangile and Nekopara... maybe they'd never sell as well as they do over there locally in japan but it sells well enough for them to try and reach out to the west adding more support with languages. I'm in the process of learning Japanese as many others are but i'm still not at the level i'd need to be to read untranslated ones, yet there's so much I'd love to read if they were translated...I hope some day they'll realize the potential gain from appealing to an extra language besides their own..they could find a potentially fruitful market in some places We do have however companies such as JAST / Mangagamer / Sekai Project and others among the most well known that license some big projects and vn's but they often have issues in this department because they need permission from the original owners and companies of the materials in order to even begin to think of starting a translation and such.. and some companies just won't do so or it costs more than it's worth or than the profit they'd obtain on steam or other westernized markets..there's a lot that goes on in the licensing market and it's all about policies, money and such which is quite sad and disappointing but it's how the cookie crumbles and sometimes we need to understand why they don't bring the things we want to see in our markets, the change needs to happen and start over at the offices of the original makers of the vn's themselves to allow their licensed to be used and give permission granted getting their share of royalties and all that stuff to be translated or even used by publishers willing to do so1 point -
Yuni, from remember 11 is an important character to the plot, and he's absolutely great, from giving you chills to making you fawn over him. https://vndb.org/v13 (leaving the op here because I like it) Swan Song has Aroe, a child with with a mental disability (I think severe autism?) She has heartwarming moments, though beware the bad ending if you like child characters. https://vndb.org/v914 Sekien no Inganock has Kia, a really important character to the cast that gives life to the people around her. https://vndb.org/v417 ...This list could go on endlessly (I actually wrote 10 more VNs before deleting them), but I'll restrain myself because the list would get pointless. I'd look into those 3.1 point

Donald Trump Dating Sim lol lol lol The only ones I can remember are Clannad and Rewrite, both from Key. However, you have to read A LOT before getting to the children. Comyu - Kagome. You are reading the VN wrong if you don't do her route. If you still havent done Rin's route in Katawa Shoujo, DO IT! Kira Kira is good and the bad endings can be depressing if you actually play them. I liked the true ending the most though but Chie's route always has a soft spot for me. Gahkthun is one of the best liar soft VNs. It's a MUST READ! Plus, it has one of the best male protagonists ever in VN. There's a reason why Tesla is #2 on my husbando list. euphoria is an acquired taste, it's not for everyone. If you cant handle torture or guro, then feel free to back away before you lose your sanity. Aselia is long and the gameplay aspect is heavy. But try to clear Aselia's route because it's canon and there's a continuity with it on Seinarukana. Among the 4, Gahkthun gets my vote though.1 point -
I mean, let's be honest, Muramasa is already a guaranteed semi-finalist, just like Dies Irae. This is also the most likely matchup for the grand final, unless Sakuuta or maybe Baldr manages to take down Muramasa. I'm rooting for Senshinkan this round.1 point

I don't know any japanesse song with vocals that is even slightly melancholic, let alone downright 'sad', they always find a way to ruin good start with 'happy/bright' refrain, like in euphoria opening. But that I O opening was nice, I'm very interested to hear more of that kind.1 point -
Opinions on VN companies' being close minded to the western market
bigfatround0 reacted to sanahtlig for a topic
Such aversion for immigrants (especially illegal immigrants) is by no means a uniquely Japanese phenomenon. Look at the US and Donald Trump's rabid nativist following. Look at Europe and the rising anti-Muslim sentiment. The US is a nation of immigrants. Western Europe is one of the bastions of democracy and has some of the most liberal social attitudes in the world. Yet they have the same exact issues, and no one considers the US or Western Europe xenophobic. Discussion of xenophobia is relevant to the original topic. This article does little to prove that point, however.1 point -

Trust me, your backlogs will start adding up and you wont finish as many VNs as you want if you read VNs this way. I learned this after my 100th completed VN and 50+ backlogs still sitting unread.... Dont underestimate your brain. It is capable of knowledge absorption far more than what you expect and the plot isnt always as clear in the beginning so it's better to analyze and piece everything together when youre on the last half of the VN. - CeruleanGamer the veteran VN reader of 850+ visual novels.1 point -

I'm not sure how much time I spent reading exactly, but I guess something like 20 hours. The plot is essentially linear, even more so than Alternative. There are some choices that lead to bad endings, but otherwise, the effect of the choices is limited to some differences in the dialogue directly following the choice.1 point -

Wow, you picked a way-out type... I'm sorry to say that that type generally doesn't become a heroine at all. If it were just a villain/antagonist heroine, I could name a few that come to mind, but due to the nature of VNs in general, that kind of extreme hedonist doesn't generally become a heroine in a non-nukige/rapegame.1 point

Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai! S

Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai! S https://vndb.org/v6245 Introduction Good day everyone. This is the Maji de watashi ni koishinasai! S Walkthrough for the currently patched fully translated game. I made this first to fully explore the content of the game but since I’ve made a good progress with writing my own walkthrough, might as well share it with everyone. This is the sequel for the first Majikoi game which shows the future for the five main heroines while adding five more additional heroines to conquer. It’s great right? Since this is rated 18+, please be noted that there are a number of scenes that are for mature audiences. Falling under the said age is not advisable to play this game. With that said, have fun playing the game. GAME START! Description Majikoi is back and better than ever in this sequel to hit 2009 visual novel. Majikoi S takes place after the events of Majikoi and lets you choose which of Majikoi’s many endings to proceed from. Choose your favorite heroine and enjoy new romantic events with her, or choose to start with no commitment and romance one of 5 new heroines. - J-List Things to be noted before starting the game When starting the game for the first time, you are required to fill in your birth date. I recommend having a date closer to the actual date. This will give you an easy access to the Birthday Mode in the Extras rather than waiting for your actual birthday to view this mode. Well, you would be lucky if your actual birthday is near that you don’t have to adjust the date just to view this early. There is a random glitch where the game gives a completely different scenario when choosing from the dialogue box. It’s easy to notice based on what choice you pick and what the dialogue/ text comes after. When this happens, just reload to the previous choices and pick again. Tatsuko’s route needs to be played twice for the Clear mark to appear in the Future Selection screen. Childhood unlocks after completion of all 10 routes. (Momoyo, Kazuko, Miyako, Yukie, Chris, Tsubame, Monshiro, Margit, Kokoro, Tatsuko). Future where you are an acquaintance of Takae unlocks after all routes are completed. After completion, an ALL CLEAR!! text should appear on the top right of the Future Selection screen. By the end of this walkthrough, The CG, Music, Replay, Event and Movie Collection are completed. Try to go for choices that you haven’t pick to see a different scene. Choices with [sAVE] and [LOAD SAVE] are choices needed to proceed to the end of each chosen routes while then you are free to choose any choice for the ones not marked. Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order The suggested playing order is listed below for those who wanted to play the game efficiently. You can also play this by following this order: Kosugi > Common Route > Tsubame > Monshiro > Margit > Kokoro > Agave After > Tatsuko > Future with Momoyo/Kazuko/Miyako/Yukie/Chris > Childhood Route Guideline Kosugi Route Future with Kosugi Continued Common Route 2nd year 1st semester (Clear) Future without a relationship Future with Momoyo S After Future with Kazuko S After Future with Miyako S After Future with Yukie S After Future with Chris After +S After Tsubame Route Future Where Tsubame Takes the Lead Future Where Yamato Takes the Lead Monshiro Route Monshiro Route Continued Margit Route Margit Route Continued Kokoro Route Future with Hermit Crabs S After Agave After Tatsuko Route Childhood Koyuki Route [LOAD SAVE 12] Fuck her hard. CG 123 [12/12]; CG 124 [4/4] Future with Chousokabe Iyo Route Future with Shima Future with the Maids Yumiko Route Another Future with Miyako Another Future with Miyako-1 Another Future with Miyako-2 Another Future with Miyako-3 Future Where You're An Acquaintance of Takae Attribution This walkthrough is based on the walkthrough from seiya-saiga.com which I adjusted based on the fully translated patch provided by our translators. Please check this walkthrough if there is something amiss Admin/Moderator-san. Thanks1 point -
Ikinari Anata ni Koishiteiru Summary "Choujo-sama... You're a healthy young male so maybe it's impossible to avoid it but... How long are you going to keep groping me?" High-spirited Tane, bitter smiling Eika, cold gazing Ryou and new resident Tsumugu. How did Chouji's normal life suddenly become like the Palace of Versailles? The story is constructed like a slice-of-life light novel, albeit with lots of ichaicha since there's four heroines who are already at max affection with him. Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order There are four heroines: Tsumugu, Tane, Eika, and Ryou. You may play in any order you like based on your preferences. Route Guideline I *think* the first three choices don't matter when it comes to locking in a heroine. Never got around to fully testing; PM me if otherwise.
