  1. Love, often confused with lust, is when you care as much (or more) about the other person as you do about yourself. You pay attention to the other person, you take an interest in the other person, you prioritise their well being higher than the ability to watch the weekend footy match in peace. Their habits will irritate you but you endure them because they are important to you. Lust, often confused with love, is when all you care about is pleasuring your penis (or female equivalent.) You pay little attention to the other person, don’t take an interest in the other person, and prioritise your entertainment and comfort over their well being. Their habits will irritate you which will lead to you seriously considering ending the relationship because there are many ways to pleasure your penis (or female equivalent) that don’t involve putting up with annoyances. Love at first sight is a lie, while lust at first sight often takes place. That lust can often develop into love, but when it doesn’t these relationships will often fail. The strength of a love lies in its ability to withstand conflict yada yada, etc etc, and so on and so forth.

  2. I am baffled and saddened: http://steamcommunity.com/app/307050/discussions/0/357287304431021101/ I had been following this story for a while and it now seems to have reached its peak, with Magenta Factory (the developers of Shan Gui) giving up on publishing the game because they are unable to file a lawsuit against the guy who fucked them over. All problems that had happened before seem to also be related to this one guy. And I thought Youtube was the site that had the most atrocious copyright policy ever, but I should have realized the DMCA system is an overall problem for every site. So now these Chinese developers are forced to give up on a game they made because a guy kicked them all out of the team without authorization and they do not have the funds to fight in a court of justice. Regardless of whether the game is good or not, I think it's really sad to see a developer who just wanted to publish their game getting fucked over like this. I know you can make the argument that "they should have known who to trust" but I find that not very compelling because it's usually pretty hard to know who's going to screw you over. And I'm sure the developers also placed their faith on Steam as a platform in case something went South, a choice which has clearly betrayed them now. What do you guys think of this situation?

It is a fucking chemistry afterall Also a lie...but still...womens will give you enough problems indeed i know only two things: 1) You are happy an the beginning 2) You are bound to suffer at one point Even if it is a story with happy end, bittersweetnes is too strong in thisone

  9. Love, a very short and simple word and yet it's said to weigh more than the whole world. It's said to be the source of all of human's conflicts and problems. It's said to make people stronger, do the impossible, and achieve unthinkable results. It's said to be the harbinger of both war and peace. All of these are only a few facts about love that I know. What about you, what do you know about love?

  11. Okay guys, this has been going on for a couple of pages now so I'd like to ask ask that you stop going so off-topic. Although I can see how discussing the worth of nukige is somewhat relevant to this thread, it's not really its original purpose and is generating a lot of unnecessary flaming. If needed I can move the discussion somewhere else. Also please keep the insults and provocation off the thread, it's really not helpful.

さげずみ here is most likely a faulty writing of the verb 蔑む(sagesumu) which means to look down at. so it probably could be translated by: "Looking down at days of boredom, seeking thrill for the imagination, looking for a place to belong, developing only our values."

Wait... if I apply Rooke's logic it means that I'm in love with my laptop I mean I always try to protect him from any danger, but his lag and crash upset me and yet I let them here because I don't want to take the risk to harm him More seriously, I think love is M (sorry for the pun) I mean, talking from my current experience, even knowing that the other will be a lot of pain to take care of I still fell in love with her, fully knowing how hard it would be. Nevertheless, every time I think of her my face crack up a dumb smile and I feel damn happy

    I miss those anime

Ushio to Tora is very good and gets much better by season 2, but it is not quite finished yet, and as much as I'm enjoying it, there's no way I'd rate it up there with FMAB standard. If you're okay with old school anime with lots of subplots intrigue, some action and a sci-fi bent, try Legend of Galactic Heroes; 110 episodes and a massive space opera but the old school animation may put you off unless you're driven more by story than animation. http://myanimelist.net/anime/820/Ginga_Eiyuu_Densetsu

    My ramblings about stuff.

So... I can't sleep and since I was really bored I decided to write this tips about doing a translation in general (or ramblings whatever you want to call them xD ) this is aimed for those who are starting a project or want to start a new one. *I'll start by saying that If you really want to translate something just do it, don't pay attention to anyone just do it, nobody can stop you from doing it aside from yourself! (and maybe a C&D letter but that's a whole different topic that I wont address right now xD). *Before starting a project be sure that you LOVE the vn you want to translate or you are getting paid for the job in that case what you want it doesn't really matter xD , you are going to work hours with the same text, fixing errors, reading over and over the same lines so if you don't actually love the vn you are working with sooner or later you are going to give up and drop it. *This point might sound silly having the previous one but read the vn at least 2 times before starting the translation, you really need to know the plot and every little aspect of it, if you don't understand the plot or some parts of it, how a character thinks or why he/she acts the way it does etc you wont be able to do a good job, this is essential! *Internet is you friend, if you don't understand something google it, you will find the answer sooner or later, if you search in Japanese is better, most of the time someone in yahoo or some similar website already asked that question (yes I've seen japanese people asking for some really basic stuff there!) there are tons of webs where you can find examples of a word if you don't understand how it works in some specific context (weblio for example) and last you have fuwa and some great users who are always willing to help you out. I hate asking for help so I try to avoid it as much as, also the satisfaction for achieving something for yourself is much more rewarding than just asking and having the answer served for you. *Work a little bit every day, eat the whale one bait at a time. * And last but not less important, have fun while you are doing it, if it's not fun then it's not worth it! Most importantly translate for yourself! Don't translate something because someone else might like it or because is really popular (I'm looking at you moe vns), you are wasting your time, this might sound selfish but if you don't enjoy what you are doing, eventually you are going to drop it. Now this is something I asked myself a lot of times and I was sure I had the answer but I didn't... Did I improve my Japanese because of the translation aka "Do you learn Japanese by translating something"? It's hard to say, I did learn several sexual terms, if that counts for something... even some really obscure ones that I want to forget Overall I don't think so (yes Decay was right on this one) if you get stuck too often then it's probably a good idea to postpone the translation for a few months, learn more and get back to it later on. (This is what I did the first time I started translating this vn 4 or 5 months ago) And that's pretty much it I want to thank everyone that helped me throughout this project, Schwarzstorch who hacked the game, edited most of the images and helped me out with pretty much everything (he worked for more than 2 hours with a picture of a dick lol sorry dude!!) Outofthebox for helping me out with the editing (oh boy did I bother him xD) to Arcadeotic for editing the text too, XReaper for all the amazing advice, MikeY91 for being the first beta tester and Tyrosyn for testing the patch and giving such an amazing feedback, finally to all the guys who helped me in the Japanese help thread. Until next time じゃあな

  19. Maybe you could try looking into LN's... 'All you need is kill', sort of comes into mind, but the romance is a relatively thin part, more action and fighting. Haven't played it personally, but maybe Ruina 廃都の物語 for pure story. I wonder what the list of VN's would like if you relaxed the gameplay constraint and just had "games prominent with fighting side by side A heroine"

  20. Approximately 400 million Myspace passwords have been stolen and up for sale. Most of them probably obsolete … like the people still using Myspace (ahahaha.) The most important things to take away from this are: If you still use MySpace, change your password. Then change it once a fortnight for the foreseeable future. Why? Because Myspace uses a very out of date and weak encryption method revealing they don’t take security seriously. They use a weak algorithm and don’t salt passwords. (Bats should give them a call.) Lastly Social media continues to suck. I mean why people. Why? http://motherboard.vice.com/read/427-million-myspace-passwords-emails-data-breach

  22. That's actually a harder request than you'd think... With Soukoku no Arterial, you are pretty much bound to screw multiple girls throughout the VN, as part of the story. However, there are one-heroine endings, lol. The demon route has lots of H and rape... I'd suggest you go for the Angel route if you want to avoid it. I hate to say it, but VN hybrids without rape or sex with multiple heroines are pretty much unknown... outside of some really crappy stuff by Debonosu and Studio Ego.

  23. Sure, I question their decision too, but I'm going to write this one off as an amateur group who's not knowledgeable on the Steam market trusting someone to help. Then they got betrayed by the guy and Steam as a platform is not helping them. That second part is what I believe to be the bigger issue. Sure it was a bad decision, but I believe it's unfair for them to be out of options like this when they're clearly in the right. I mean, couldn't you classify this under fraud or something? To me saying they have nothing but themselves to blame is like yelling at an elderly lady who got scammed on the phone. I'm pretty sure they just didn't know better.

  24. So I just finished speaking to someone about this, and I figured I'd bump this thread in case someone else from Norway or a country with similar laws ask themselves the same question. The very simple answer, which most people probably saw coming, is: don't buy physical games like this if you live in a country like Norway. The chances of the games actually being discovered and instantly branded as illegal are very slim, however generally speaking, material such as Euhporia and BBH are indeed put under a category of illegal porn in Norway, and CAN lead to punishment, either in the form of fines or something more serious. The chance of games like this being treated the same way as actual, "real" illegal pornography is very small, but it is there, and if the more strict people in the justice system finds out, well... RIP. Even digital versions of the games can be handled in the same way, though that is even less likely. Point is, actually importing games like these is pretty much playing with fire. You probably wont get caught, but if you DO get caught, then it's your own ass on the line. The actual law puts the illegal porn into two categories, nr.1 being an absolute no no, including sex with children, corpses and animals, and the other category is rape, voilence etc, which is more of a "you really shouldn't own or watch this, and we CAN punish you for it." There are "loopholes" I guess, which is roleplay, completely fictional material etc, but even then, the law itself is very vague, and doesn't specify whether it is talking about fictional material or not, and so once again it will come down to how strict the people who are handling your case are. Making a solid defense would be kind of hard, and it would be mostly based around exactly what the material is used for, (for example, the fact that it is in a game surrounded by real plot might make it a bit less serious.) Anyways, yeah, that's about it. I am at least glad that I have this sorted out, so I know exactly what is and isn't legal in Norway for the future.

  26. I usually prefer H-heavy moege and story titles like Kohime Musou over straight nukiges. The only two titles I'd currently like to see translated which are really tagged as nukige are Bishoujo Mangekyou -Norowareshi Densetsu no Shoujo- and Boku to Koi Suru Ponkotsu Akuma and its fan disc Boku to Koi Suru Ponkotsu Akuma. Suggoi Ecchi! from NekoPara artist Sayori.

  35. If I'm curious about a VN that lacks proper coverage, I'll watch the first little bit. Beyond that? No. It's irritating to not be able to control the pace of the clicks, and/or if the Youtuber is (obnoxious) talking during it. Also, it depends if it's being respectful about how it does the LP - if it's a "full" LP, I won't have anything to do with it. To me it's a more accessible form of piracy - think about it, you don't need to torrent it or anything, so any john doe can jsut open up youtube and go through the whole story with zero effort. I've done my share of torrenting of various titles I could not get locally, so I'm not gonna sit on a high-horse and act innocent - but piracy of officially localized titles can really hurt groups like MG, SP, and Jast. I avoid that.

  37. I decided to ride the good reading feeling and started Kusarihime. I had been thinking about reading it for a while, even more so after reading Forest, but never really got around doing that. And now I've been completely hooked in since the amazing opening, it just sets such perfect mood for the game. Same melancholy and the sense of discomfort when something feels ever so slightly wrong carries over the story, emphasized by the great music. And while the character art is little rough, I really like background, especially scenery art. They have that magical children's picture book feel to them. Don't know how to explain it properly, so just have a look. Haven't gotten too far yet, but I'm really liking it. The atmosphere is pretty low-key, but really captivating. The memory loss of the protagonist is also handled in a interesting way and the small hints about the past and the mysterious events are really tickling my curiosity. I just got into a part where I think things are going to get lot more interesting (the red snow in the fourth day), so looking forward to what is to come.
