  3. i´m inclined to second natsu no kusari. no great many thought through and well written character studies floating around, yet said one is gravely missunderstood in its nature by many. also wanting to mention kawarazaki-ke2 here, which too is a masterpiece of its own, much unlike the literary abomination silkys plus dared to create.

  6. The title says it all, and we'll get it in at least 28 days more. Here's the news for the proof. So, anyone looking forward to this? If so then we could started the discussion now and what's your thought on this VN. Have fun, and I'll add more info in this post later. PS (12/10) - Now that this VN was released, I'll change the thread title to reflect on this situation.

  7. Have you ever had any dreams or goals in the past that you wanted to follow and achieve? And if so, are you still pursuing those dreams or have you long since abandoned them for practical reasons? For me, I once had a dream of becoming the first foreigner to write a light novel in Japan because at the time, I was at my prime as an anime fan and I'd just discovered light novels long before they started to be released globally. This was because I'm a talented writer and I wanted to see my work get adapted into an anime, and because I'm Canadian, I was hoping to set an example to the anime industry as a whole (though technically, Monty Oum already beat me to the punch with that). I had held on to this dream until very recently because of so many real life circumstances, at which point, I just abandoned it altogether. One is because of financial problems and getting into Japan is really expensive. Secondly, I have to focus on completing college and finding a job to sustain myself. And finally, I'm not Japanese, so getting into their light novel business is going to be EXTREMELY difficult. I don't know if they don't accept foreigners at all because there are no records of foreigners ever attempting this, but my gut feeling has been telling me for years that they don't. I've been also told by my friends that attempting to go to Japan just to write a book is impractical, which I tried coming up with valid counter-arguments to explain to them why I was doing this, but in the end, they were right. If I wanted to write a book, I can just do so in my home country. Now, my dream has changed. All I want to do now is just write a story that's light novel and anime-inspired, and publish it as a web novel online. Who knows, I may even turn it into a visual novel if the Visual Novel Maker program comes out.

That's the reason why they lost, there wasn't a sudden influx of haters rather an increased number of Democrats stayed at home.

  16. I think that these are some of your best points. You're right, the publishing world is harsh and you'll face rejection if you don't follow the rules. To that end, if he wants to go down a traditional route, I'd suggest that the OP listen to what you say quite closely and it will serve him as well as anything. I should say that I have a personality that wanted to defy that a long time ago. I don't personally ever expect to publish or sell any writing self-publishing, but I do think that writing, if you're going to do it, should be something you have a passion for and something that rewards you and anyone who reads it. The world really doesn't need any more bog-standard genre authors and works pushed out by traditional publishers. Sure, I say that even though I'm inclined to read that kind of thing often ... but what I mean is that we shouldn't be pushing for that, we should want more from ourselves and others than saying "write this book, do it in an average way, make money.' That said, I suppose that everything has a formula and it wouldn't be a formula if 1,000 people didn't follow it. Also, btw, I think that literary fiction contains a lot of invisible prose. brilliantly written books are often not-so because every page has 20 stunning sentences, it's because the book has real vision and purpose. Ok, great authors write better prose without thinking about it, but it's not necessarily their best for 600 pages +

  17. Unless Sekai Project ponders the possibility of pursuing Yuzusoft games once they're done with the current one they're working on the chances are low, close to zero. They're both very long games and the effort would be wasted in my opinion (fantranslation-wise). There was a previous attempt by a guy not so long ago who wanted to translate Sanoba Witch, but it failed horribly. Apart from that I know nothing else regarding those two games.

  18. I liked Isuzu's route, it's one of the best I've read (I've read 30-something VNs). To me she's not exactly a kuudere, but those matters are very complicated. She's more like a tsundere of sorts. But hard to put her in any definite category.
    1 point
  19. Well, HoshiMemo has the coodere Aoi Isuzu, but according to Ittaku's link, she would be the second type, which isn't my favorite. Plus, lots of people didn't like her/her route, so maybe it's not what you're looking for. I wish Setsuna had a route instead :/

  22. Yeah, waiting "a year or two" for fantranslators to pick those up is incredibly optimistic. And agreed with both Asonn and RedK that SP is probably your best bet. You won't see immediate results, but it never hurts to send them requests; from what I hear, they can and do use that when trying to convince Japanese developers to license.

  25. This right here so much. It can not be overstated how this is the result of two sides not listening to each other. Hillary didn't get overwhelming support for a reason, and you can't simply brush it off as "oh it was all those racist and sexist white americans. Fuck them". It wasn't. It was so much more than just that. It was an entire group of people who are tired of the establishment and threw a brick at it. Trump is literally a rock that was thrown at every single mainstream entity who kept pushing the "the other side is evil" narrative. That is what he represents for a ton of people. And unless you address both sides seriously, without preemptively assuming they are Satan incarnate, situations like this will keep happening. And it is my firm believe that no matter who had won, this election had already done the most damage to the American population of any other recent election. And things go much deeper than the two major political parties. I'd like to share this one post I read on reddit from a trump supporter, which resonated with a lot of people, including non Trump supporters as well, and which I believe really showcases how many of his supporters felt. Whether you agree with it or not isn't what I ask of you, but what I do hope is that you read it and just consider it for a moment. Maybe the other side is worth listening to and taken seriously into account. Maybe they have real worries which the other side isn't addressing. Maybe their goal isn't to plunder America back into the dark ages. Maybe they are humans too. Only when you do that can you unite your people. And this goes for both sides. (I apologize for the formatting but I'm on mobile right now so i can't fix it (or maybe i can but that'd be a load of work!) )

  31. First, I should state that this is a VN I was unsure of from the beginning. The concept of the 'rehabilitation program' in the VN is so similar to some manga and anime that have gotten attention recently that I had to shake my head in exasperation... not to mention that the concept is also at the core of why so many Japanese otakus like the school life slice-of-life charage that are produced in such profusion. The VN starts out from the perspective of Hahakigi Hinako, one of the three heroines available from the beginning. Hinako's perspective is the one through which you form your first impressions of the Tryment (not sure of this is the correct romanization, since no info has been given so far that might reveal it, lol) Plan's 'reform school'. Hinako is a young woman who failed at work due to her social ineptness (extreme stage fright, inexperience with working with others, etc), and as a result she lost her job and was left with no idea of how to proceed. This project was then suggested to her as a possible way to return to the workforce, and she chose to go with it. It is probably best that your impressions of the world are formed through Hinako, as Tsukasa - the male protagonist - is something of an unreliable narrator (deliberately so on the part of the writer) whose viewpoint has some seriously gaping holes in it. It becomes apparent even in Hinako's path that something weird is going on on the island, but it mostly seems irrelevant during the common route. The two heroines I started out with were Kaizou Momo and Ootate Ruka. Momo is a genius programmer and a researcher of artificial intelligence whose reasons for coming to the island are left to your imagination in the common route. She is childlike, cheery, and more than a little emotionally needy. However, she is appropriately brilliant, as is shown repeatedly in her path. Unfortunately, her path ends on a somewhat confusing note, revealing little about what is going on except indirectly. Ruka is a serious, intelligent young woman who was once part of a law firm that fell apart for reasons that would be a spoiler (lol). Her path is somewhat more revealing about both the setting and Tsukasa than Momo's, but, again, you are left to fill in most of the details on your own through speculation. The ending of both VNs feels definitely incomplete, and they are probably just setups for the Ai path, most likely. So far, this VN has been interesting to read... but it is also looking to be pretty short. Though, most of the reason for that seems to be the fact that the VN wastes very little time on the romantic and slice-of-life aspects that would have been the center of a charage. Since it is so obvious that the heroine routes aren't meant to be complete in and of themselves, I'm going to reserve judgement until I've completed the remaining routes.

    Donald Trump Megathread

The Internet did it. The Internet really did it. One year of extensive shitposting and meme-magic made it possible: Trump will not only make Anime real, he also won the presidential election. Proof that Trump will make Visual Novels great again! I thought the Jews (meaning George Soros) would rig the election, but apparently Democracy actually works! I'm so happy for you my dear Murricans. You stood up and defeated the liar, warmonger and criminal Hillary Clinton. From today on, the Internet shall be free from Social Justice and Political Correctness. Please search on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit and everywhere else for SJWs and LGBT people and troll them to your heart's content! My fellow Fuwas. I hereby declare the Western Eroge community once again a PC-free zone! Rejoice, you don't need to fanboy LGBT-writers like Scaji and pretentious works like Subahibi anymore. Don't hide your true desires, just fap to your alpha-male nukiges! Even better if it's an incest eroge where you can date your daughter, because that is exactly what our savior would also do! And now please excuse me, I have to grab some anime pussy ... and I won't even ask for consent! (Tagging other white cis scum males, because they wanted to celebrate with me: @Deep Blue and @XReaper )

    Clephas Top 50 VNs

For the last two years or so, I've gotten repeated requests to unequivocally name my top VNs made up until the present, ignoring objectivity, my vndb votes, etc. I've more or less just ignored most of those requests, because it is a pain in the ass to name a 'favorite' VN in the first place. I've made lists of VNs I loved from various genres, and I've also made lists of VNs for a specific purpose. However, I've avoided making a list like this one up until now, mostly because my 'favorites' switch out so often. Let's get this straight for those who are going to criticize my choices... these are the VNs I like the most, not the fifty best VNs of all time. I make no pretense to preeminence of opinion in this case, because I'm also discarding all attempts at objectivity. What a person likes is ultimately a matter of personal tastes, not a matter of logic. Why did I make it fifty? Because my number of VNs played, setting aside replays and nukige, is over six hundred already (with replays and nukige, it is closer to eight hundred...)... I'd be surprised if I didn't have this many VNs I considered wonderful. Keep in mind that these aren't in a particular order. 1. Evolimit 2. Dies Irae (the one by Light) 3. Ikusa Megami Zero 4.
