  1. Man, such a click-baity title . As some of you know, I released Unhack 2 recently. People who gave the game a chance mostly enjoyed it, but I had a hard time with discoverability. I hate shameless plugs, and I wanted to do the show-don't-tell thing, so maybe I was naive. Currently, I am working on The Last Birdling. I pour my life into these games (the earliest ones embarrassingly bad), so I don't want to pretend they're just for fun anymore. Still, I don't want to cross the line. Different forums have different rules, after all. The Fuwanovel forums are pretty kind and generous in terms of guidelines. Can I throw a couple of questions out and see what you think? 1) If we have a new project to announce, should we restrict it to the Original VN Projects section, or can we post about it on Visual Novels Discussion? Is it a case where if it is a Western VN, it can only sit in the Original VN Projects section? Big Japanese releases clearly are allowed in Visual Novels Discussion. I am happy to follow the rules if everybody else does the same, but yeah, I would like to know what the situation is. 2) Do we have issues with creators plugging projects as their very first post on these forums? There are places where that will constitute an instant warning or even ban. Actually, I guess this one doesn't apply in my case since I've loitered here for a while now. 3) I want to write up some articles related to my upcoming games, which also links to bigger discussions. Is it okay with you guys if I shared them on this board? Hopefully I'll come up with something worthwhile (while sneakily talking about myself which shames me so much) along the way. Thank you so much for allowing me to be honest guys. Hopefully you won't find this annoying. I've cared deeply about my work for many years and really want my situation to improve .

  2. Serious with some comedy >> Purely serious >>>> Comedy all the way through >> Mostly comedy, with one serious part >>> Uninspired bland shit

  3. Seriousness by far. Comedy can be fun once in a while (a la Grisaia's common route), but serious plots just bring far more to the table, are more varied, and are much more memorable in the long run. Bouts of seriousness amidst comedy is always welcome, but I'd say inserting comedy into seriousness runs the risk of killing immersion.

  4. Pretty sure there are little to no restrictions over here on advertising your own game. We've had VN devs in the past loading this place with discussion about their VNs. I remember blacksands entertainment in particular making a thread every week or so at some point about their game. But that's really what a lot of us are here for: To talk about VNs. As long as you're not overspamming the forums, any advertising from your part will be more than welcome. I'm sure I'm speaking for a lot of us here when I say we'd like to see you talk a bit more about your games Inverse. I think you only post about your games when they release/ are near release. Questions like: What inspired you to make this particular VN? Are ones I'd be very interested to have you and other developers answer, even if it may seem like ya'll are just promoting yourselves when you do. It could just be that I'm a fan of yours and that I have no qualms with shamelessly promoting my own stuff

  5. I would say just try to do that by yourself (I mean posting your original VN thread at VN Talk section), because to tell the truth I didn't knew the regulation about that. Although I could tell one thing though that most of the users here didn't really had problem with that. That's all I could say for now, and good luck to your project.

  8. Ah, I see. If I understand this correctly, you would prefer a gradual change from a comedic to serious tone rather than plunging straight into the serious drama for the sake of building attachment to the characters in the game. Hmm, this is actually a good point that I should put more into consideration. Of course, there are ways to build attachment to characters other than the use of comedy, but in terms of the visual novel I'm making, this might be a good move to make in my story-writing. I'm definitely taking notes on this discussion ٩(^‿^)۶ Unfortunately, I haven't played those games and do not foresee myself doing so anytime soon because of the lack of free time, but you do bring up a good point about a purely serious story as writing for the sake of itself rather than for the sake of entertaining the readers. I'll keep the tip in mind. Although, I would like to point out that there are very serious stories that have been able to keep me entertained, engaged, and on my toes throughout their duration. Comedy doesn't need to be the sole factor for entertainment, at least in my experience. But I do want to keep my readers entertained throughout my visual novel, whether that's through an emotionally gripping narrative or some memorable, hilarious lines.

  9. Can't really answer the rule questions. However, I can say I'm 100% behind you in terms of your work. We can really tell that you put your effort into it. I recall when I first played the web version of Unhack. Look how far you've gotten now. Congrats!

  10. Oh Spring has come and the big ones started rolling in. SnK S2. Well nothing much, it is good as expected. Amazing animation and OST, great pacing though the OP isn't as good as S1 OPs. Shame its only getting 12 episodes though... Boku no Hero strike gold, again. I'm surprised they can keep their shonen-esque style and still produce great animation especially in the last part of episode 2. With 25 episodes from Bones this one will definitely be a great ride. Busou Shoujo.... well it's shit, nothing much can be said other than that. Adaptation wise too, which is disappointing since the manga's art are quite good. Maybe Silver Link is focused on making that Illya movie... Clockwork planet was a disappointment... maybe I expected too much since it's from Kamina Yuu... but this is definitely not NGNL. On top of that the studio is butchering the character design and animation. I'll keep watching to episode 3 and see if it gets slightly better or stays the same. Eromanga-sensei, well having dearest harem MC VA Matsuoka doing an MC of a series from the author of OreImo means it'll be hilarious while possibly having another shit ending (again). Same formula, different characters. Nothing special other than the comedy but let's see where it goes. And from the animation looks like A-1 is on top of their game too for this LN adaptation. The second cour of Little Watch Academia is starting and surprise surprise, it actually have a story. Let's see what Trigger comes up for the plot twists for this show though makes me wonder if they will keep the somewhat disney friendly atmosphere... Re:Creators... oh boy, the director of Fate/Zero, Kara no Kyoukai and Aldnoah doing an original anime with Sawano? For 22 episodes??? Color me interested but considering some hyped original anime usually became a trainwreck in the end I'll keep my expectations low. That being said, first episode has very solid animation and god amazing soundtrack (doesn't surprised me, It's Sawano after all) while having a somewhat decent story. Alice to Zoroku... well this looks quite fresh albeit the evil labs and experiments part of it seems a bit stale... The character interactions are pretty great overall and other than the jarring CGI in the first episode, everything else looks sharp. Will definitely keep an eye on this one. Rokudenashi first episode is shit, well a fresh kind of shit but that's not exactly a good thing. The second ep is a lot better and has a very good world building that surprises me. Really loves how they explain the magic but other than that the story seems rather bit too cliche. It's pretty enjoyable however... Sakurada Reset is possibly the most boring anime I'm watching this season besides Busou and Clockwork. Shame since the potential is there... Well it's just the first episode and it's going to be a 2 cour show so let's see where it goes but I'll definitely keep my expectations low. Zero Kara hajimeru, nothing new, nothing special. Cliche all around but it doesn't seem to be too bad and could turn out to be pretty decent. Soundtrack is good enough and animation too. Definitely enjoyable though. Shuumatsu... thought it's going to be one of those weird LN adaptation with long names but.... seems very interesting. Great soundtrack and more than decent animation. Story seems good and has a lot of potential. Possibly AOTS? Maybe but it's too early to judge. What surprises me though they uses Scarborough Fair for some parts of their OST. I don't think many anime do that and it's done well too. IMO definitely a must watch And last but not least, Sakura Quest, or what I would like to say, P.A. Works struck gold. Definitely the highest contender for AOTS of new anime in this season for me. Great character explanation, great OST, OP and ED as well as crisp animation. It can still go to a trainwreck but I'm still going to keep my hopes up. Oh yeah forgot about Frame Arms Girls or what I would like to call it as "I have no idea why I'm watching this". This and Renai Boukun is contending for possibly the dumbest anime with a somewhat entertaining value of this season. I wonder which one will come on top...

  11. You can create your own blog on Fuwa and write about everything from promoting your games, articles, thoughts about other games and visual novels and whatever comes up. One of the things I would like to read about is your creative process. What is your workflow from ideas to an actual product. How do you come with ideas and then write stories. All kinds of things. Making a new thread to advertise your new game is good but if you want to have some freedom a blog is a nice way to do it. You can have a link to your blog so people don't miss it.

  12. Tsuyokiss's yandere (the silver hair) Gun Knight Girl (all but one are 'broken') Semiramis no Tenbin (Ami is a manipulative genius) Shinigami no Testament (the one-eyed girl) Kikan Bakumatsu Ibun Last Cavalier (Iori) Akatsuki no Goei 3 (several heroines... especially the ones on the Forbidden Zone route) Amatsutsumi (Hotaru) Devils Devel concept (all heroines are amoral, have varying degrees of insanity by normal standards) Draculius (Belche, Rian, and Xeno all have values that are far different from human morality) Harumade Kururu Natsukumo Yururu Akiyume Kukuru Koi Suru Doll to Omoi no Kiseki Ore no Tsure wa Hitodenashi (bad ends are seriously bad, lol) Hello, Lady and its sequel End Sleep (seriously... seriously fucked up) Kami no Ue no Mahoutsukai Gleam Garden no Shoujo (technically, they are all crazy in a way) Izuna Zanshinken (sub-heroines) Reminiscence (Aki) Tojita Sekai no Tori Colony

  13. Glad to know you found success somewhere else, though I was really looking forward to your VN. I don't really have anything to ask but felt like congratulating you regardless. Best of luck with Kids 2 Kings, it's definitely a dream worth the effort you've put.

  14. @Vorathiel Hope you ready for enduring three routes then, because if you want to play Kukuri's end you must get three ending before got that. Yes, three endings which consist of Yukiko's, Misuzu's and Yuka's. Good luck. Interesting that you interested with Hakuai (aka Lesbian Nurses) there. To each of their own I suppose if we talk about opinion in regard of Yurirei, although I'd found that it was quite relaxing VN.

  15. I just finished that most crucial scene of any bishoujo game: the one where all the heroines are gathered and the tactless one asks the protagonist and his childhood friend, "Hey, are you guys dating?" One awkward denial, and the stage is set for romance. I really am ready for some romance, honestly. The story is fine, and I'm enjoying watching the band grow up, but I could use a little change of pace from the gig-of-the-month formula.

  16. Considering that IRL in many cases blood doesn't not appear at all, I'm glad that they didn't went that way. Sometimes blood amout is just... overflowing, it's terrible. People who had suffer from such a big wound inside their sensitive body parts, wouldn't be enjoying their first time at all. And as we all know - female orgasm at first time is mandatory. So a bit of an contradiction here. But I know, I know, VNs aren't about logic, or cohesiveness.
